From the bride: “We met many years ago when we were teenagers and had a short romance, but due to our age the timing was not right at the time. Three years on and having had no communication at all, I was working in a shop and Michael by complete coincidence came through my checkout. My heart was beating a 100 beats a minute and I had crazy butterflies, I knew then he was the one. We went on a date a couple of days later and the rest is history, we have now been together 9 years.”
“Michael proposed in September 2013 whilst we were on holiday in Turkey. We went for a romantic stroll along the along the coast after dinner to watch the sunset and it was there he got down on one knee. I was ecstatic, we then had a fantastic night at the hotel with many guests and several bottles of champagne.”
“We chose Cyprus for our wedding destination, one because we wanted the guaranteed beautiful weather. However, we also wanted it to be abroad as everyone is a lot more relaxed when on holiday and we wanted that for both ourselves and our guests. We loved that it was a weeklong celebration with all our loved ones.”
“Vasilias Nikoklis Inn was the perfect location, having toyed between both Turkey and Cyprus for our big day; once we saw the pictures of Vasilias and saw the wonderful reviews we knew it would suit us down to a tee and we were sold instantly. Such a quaint and beautiful venue, it had such a charm about it and to get that vibe just from photographs we knew 100% it was the place for us.”
“Our wedding theme was rustic, romantic charm. We wanted to let the venue do the talking and embellished it with quaint delicate decorations to enhance the beauty. Our color scheme was rose gold and dusky pink to add a romantic, dreamy feel to our day, in which we were surrounded by total bliss.”
“My bridesmaids had a mix of gypsophila stippled with pink roses which complemented by larger bouquet of large pink roses perfectly. I then had bouquets gypsophila at the end of the aisle seats as I walked down, simple yet beautiful.”
“Pinterest was a big influence and I must have snapped over 200 photos to give us ideas about what we wanted. However, I am also an art teacher and have an eye for detail and touches, I knew in my mind what I wanted and made several details and decorations myself.”
“After dinner, Marios our photographer took us off just the two of us. This time alone will be a moment I will treasure forever. We spoke all about our day so far about how we felt and things that had happened before we saw each other. It was a moment to let everything sink in. We had several photos and I am forever grateful for this time where we could just be silly, relax and be together. Michael spinning me in the corn field while we both were hysterically laughing is a memory I will treasure forever. I think it had finally hit us, we were married, and we were both just so happy.”
“My wedding dress was by Maggie Sottero, I wanted something that hugged by body as I am petite and wanted something that was elegant, delicate but also a little sexy. I loved the back of my dress with the detail and delicate lace half way up my back. My dress gave me such confidence on the day.”
