To say that today’s wedding is gorgeous would be a total understatement. The wedding in Cyprus of Christia and Yiannis is overflowing with lush florals in vivid colors and elegant touches of gold gracefully adding a Moroccan flair. A colorful spring wedding captured by Antonis Georgiadis so beautiful in every way possible.
The lovely bride shared with us: “We met in 2004 at Manchester when we were both in college. In the very beginning, even though we know of each other, we didn’t actually communicate that much since Yiannis was reserved and I was quite the opposite… It all started when we started attending the same class and quickly came to realize that there was chemistry between us. Since then we are inseperable… He proposed to me on his birthday (he said he chose that specific day because it would be hard for me to say no!). I was touched that he designed the engagement ring. He wanted it to be unique and to express my character. He was spot on!”
The handsome couple decided to have their colorful seaside wedding in Cyprus because as the bride explains: “There was no other choice for us since we wanted to share our wedding day with all our loved ones. It wasn’t easy since we both live in London but with the help of our family and close friends we were able to plan our special day!”
“It is a very special feeling to know that so many of your favorite people are so happy for you…”, Christia mentioned to us.
“I love my wedding gown! I always adored lace and I know for a fact that my wedding dress would have some lace details. Eleni Stroggyliotou created a masterpiece with fine guipure lace and tulle. The combination of delicate materials made my dress romantic and modern at the same time. The truth is that I tried on many wedding gowns in London and in Cyprus without being able to find the “one”. I knew that I had found my wedding dress from the very first dress rehearsal with Elena… I had tears in my eyes..”.
Christia shares details about her coloful seaside wedding decoration: “One thing that I actually spent a lot of time dwelling over was the wedding decoration. I had devoted an incredible amount of my time searching for ideas, however when RSPV took the wedding decoration tasks in their hands, everything changed. Outside the church, the stand with the rose pedal bags was amazing and it was decorated with bougainvillea and other ethnic elements that were added by RSVP such as lanterns and Moroccan style pillows”.
The ceremony took place in the St. Catherine Chapel at the located in the heart of Aphrodite Hills Resort, a gorgeous location surrounded by olive trees.
“Our wedding had a beach theme with an ethnic flair. We used gold runners to add a royal feeling and the vibrant colors of the flowers in combination with the candles gave a slightly more relaxed yet romantic feeling… I was impressed by everything.. but if I had to choose something that stood out it would be the color combination of the various types of flowers, the gold runners and the chivalry chairs”.
“We did not hire a wedding planner and that is one of our regrets. I personally handled a large part of the planning… from designing the invitations, writing our speeches… to purchasing the runners and the pashminas for the ladies. In the end it was very tiring and time consuming… it could have been handled by a professional”.
“The most challenging decision we made (but we make the same one again!) was the wedding venue selection since it needed extra work to meet our criteria. That is why perhaps the best choice we made was to collaborate with RSVP for the wedding decoration and the EventPro company for the lighting. These two teams works side by side to create an excellent outcome. From the first moment we met with both companies we realized that they are professionals that love what they do”.
“Our favorite moment was when we entered our reception and everybody was gathered together… our entire family and friends. It was at that very moment when all the stress went away, completely excited and ready to have fun!”
“My advice for all brides that are now planning their wedding is to do everything with love, a lot of patience and persistence. On your wedding day, enjoy yourself without stress!”
