We are sharing with you today a jaw dropping beautiful and extemely stylish wedding in Cyprus. The couple chose to get married in Cyprus because as they said: “Marrying abroad was never really an option for us… We wanted it to be a celebration for all our close relatives and friends. We wanted more than anything to have them all there with us…”
The bride was stunning in her gorgeous Pronovias wedding dress, the Yaela from the Atelier Pronovias 2014 collection A lace wedding dress with V-neck and elbow-length sleeves. The tulle interior with paillettes are covered with tulle petit pois and rebrodé lace appliqué. . The A-line skirt was combined with a grosgrain belt with pearl precious stones and beautiful crystals.
Maria’s advice: “The bride should start her preparations as early as possible so she can enjoy the whole process. She shouldn’t listen to a lot of opinions but she should do any thing that makes her feel comfortable. (alright, she could ask the groom for some opinions!) The bride should have by her side (especially at the wedding day) a couple of trusted people so they could fix anything that goes wrong!”
“Although we knew each other for a long time, we came in contact when we both came back to Cyprus permanently after a decade abroad. The funny thing is that we both have sisters that are really close friends and they both got involved in this reunion!”
“Two of our most favorite moments from that day are: When we met outside the church, were we both were very emotional and when we made our entrance to the venue”
“The marriage proposal was made at a restaurant were we had our first date two and a half years ago. When the waiter brought us dessert, Marios had the ring hidden in it, which by the way was of his own invention. It was funny enough as well, since the dessert was an M&Ms cake (our friends call us this way!)”
For the style of their wedding, the coupe told us: “We called it with two words.. Funky Playful! We didn’t want something very formal, but instead something that combines class and elegance with playful elements. This is something that expresses us both since we have these elements as individuals”
“There wasn’t any particular color, but white was dominant with touches of peach pastel..” Lovely!
The wedding favors were handmade poppy seed shea soap with a touch of apricot flavor: “which we made and packed ourselves.. With some guidance of course from the bride who she has a doctorate in Chemistry”!
The numbering of the tables at the venue was quite original and Maria commented: “judging by the reactions of our guests, they were particularly impressed by the numbering, since the numbers were really black and white photographs from the two of us!”
“Some of our friends really went above and beyond to suprise us… They made an adaptation of a song from our favorite TV show… changed the lyrics in order to mention us in a humorous way! They really did organize this suprise perfectly. The recording was made in a studio, they had costumes, background scenery … It was an unforgettable surprise that was presented to us instead of just having the ordinary video of our wedding! This clip played just before our entrance in the reception hall and basically showcased our the so-called “adventure” that we went through on our way to the reception: We had a flat tire… then we took a bus and travelled though the mountains… we then hitch-hiked…then there were underwater footage of us swimming in the sea. It also featured other funny adventures until we finally arrived at our reception…”

Antonis has done a brilliant job in capturing all the happy moments – just perfect! xx Elaine
