Elena and Mike tied the knot at the dreamy Lythos in Rhodes and we are loving every single detail from this gorgeous wedding! Planned by Love Stoties Luxury Weddings & Events, their Greek Island Wedding was decorated with olive leaves and romantic white florals that were perfectly matched with the bougainvilleas of their lovely outdoor wedding venue, Lythos. From the full moon arch with the lush florals, the lovely centrepieces at the beautiful reception, to the oh-so-stylish wedding venue… We loved just about everything!

“We got married in summer, in Lindos, St. Pauls Bay. It all started in 2015. We met over the summer. Elena worked in the hotel as housekeeping manager and I worked for my father in the company. My father sent me to the hotel because one of his business partners had to have a delivery picked up there and needed us to do it. This business partner recommended my father to send his son there because a pretty housekeeping manager worked there. Said and done. I went and met Elena there and was completely surprised. When Elena came running down the stairs, I was instantly blown away. But when I spoke to her, the chemistry between the two of us wasn’t right away, she was pressed for time and didn’t have time for a guy who was just picking something up. But in the end Elena had to help me pick up the packages because otherwise the elevator would always be closed, that was the start of funny conversations and I immediately changed my mind about Elena. We got along really well and in the narrow elevator we got closer and closer. Unfortunately, but actually not, I couldn’t take all the packages with me in one day, so I had to come back the next day and we exchanged the numbers and wrote a little more on the same day. The next day Elena invited me directly to a coffee and our love story began. After 4 years, in 2019 we booked a trip to Bali. We have discovered and travelled to many beautiful places and met many hospitable people. Elena already suspected that an application would have to come to Bali because I didn’t do it in Thailand or Vietnam. And yes, she was right, I’ve thought carefully about how I’m going to propose to her. We were on the small but beautiful island of Nusa Penida and I persuaded her to get up very early in the morning at 5am. We then drove about 1 hour with a small and comfortable scooter to Kelingking Beach. Once there, we first enjoyed the magnificent view of the beach in the bay and then quickly went down because the Instagram tourists would have come soon. To be honest we almost had to climb down earlier because the access was so steep. Below we were the only ones on the beach completely alone. It was a gorgeous setting and the sun was rising. We enjoyed the moment and had a little snack because there was no time for breakfast. After that we walked on the beach and I took Elena’s hand and got on my knees on the sand and then asked her to marry me. YES, she will. We both were very happy and enjoyed this moment. In the evening we then enjoyed the event with a wonderful dinner in a tree house at the Amok Sunset”, Mike shared with us.
“Our dream was to get married in Greece because Elena is half Greek, so we made a conscious decision to use a typical Greek decoration for our wedding. We chose Rhodes because we love the island so much and have travelled it more than often. We spent an extra vacation on Rhodes to choose the location and all questions about decoration and organization and searched for the right location for our wedding for two weeks. Thanks to our wedding planner Katie, we came to the Lythos and took a look at the location. This place was just gorgeous and stunning, right on the beach, direct sea view. Incredible attention to detail in the furnishing and decoration. For us this was the Greek place we were looking for. Above all, the owners, Maria and Vasilis, simply convinced us. Insanely friendly and personable people. It was perfect. Katie did the decorating, and with good reason. She perfectly understood how to turn our wishes into reality. We deliberately chose a simple and plain decoration, because the location itself is more than decoration! Guest gifts: small bottles of olives, Greek sweets, a candy bar, olive branches, fairy lights and many more details in the style of olive were used”.
“My wedding dress was closed back so that tattoos are not in the foreground. Not too hard. No hair veil. A line. Color Ivory. Lace at the back. Short train”, the bride said.
“My favourite moment was the dance of Mike and his groomsmen for her in the Lythos”, the bride shared with us. The groom said his favourite moment was: “When Elena rode the boat into St Pauls Bay looking like a Greek goddess…”
“In our case, we couldn’t be there to plan everything because we live in Germany. That’s why we had Katie at our side (Love Stories Luxury Weddings & Events) as a wedding planner, who simply fulfilled and implemented everything for us according to our wishes. What we mean by that is to say trust the people who make the organization. Stay relaxed, don’t stress yourself too much even if the planning is sometimes exhausting. Everything will be fine in the end and it’s going to be a beautiful one and unforgettable day in life. Second dress as an alternative for the bride to dance. Much sleep. Don’t be afraid or panic”.
“We had a wonderful and unforgettable wedding in Greece. That was the best decision we could have made. Great weather, the sun, the sea and the people of Rhodes rounded off our wedding. Our German family and friends also got to know and love Greek hospitality. Ooooooopa! We are now planning to have children and soon to build our own house. Build a family”.
