Today we’re travelling to the magical island of Santorini where Alexis and Lee decided to tie the knot and to have an unforgettable celebration of love with their family and friends. Their ceremony took place in a beautiful winery which was a wonderful location with the breathtaking views of the island and the deep blue sea as the backdrop. The wedding followed a romantic simple style and both ceremony and reception settings were perfectly adorned with white fresh flowers and greenery. We truly fell in love with the effortlessly chic style of the couple and the stunning wedding dress of the gorgeous bride! Prepare to get lost in the following images and get inspiration by every single detail!
The bride shared with us:“We funny enough met on Bumble. I had recently moved to New York City and reached out to Lee when I saw his photo. When Lee and I went out on our first date the first thing that stuck out to me was that he was persistent, which I liked. He had texted me a few times to schedule a date and for whatever reason –travel & work– it was hard to get together. However, on a Friday we both agreed to meet for happy hour, at the Whitney museum rooftop in New York City. During our time there we had witty chats with a beautiful view. I remember thinking that he was handsome, charming and smart. The rest was history… Lee planned a trip to Tulum, Mexico for us. He reserved the best table at a lovely restaurant with treetop dining. He had the ring in his pocket, waiting to be placed. But before the placement, he removed a folded stack of notes that he had brought with him. ( I write Lee notes daily that he keeps, and he brought his favorite dozen with him.) He asked me to read them aloud, and on the final note was a simple but incredibly meaningful question…And, I said yes.”
“Both of my parents are from Lesvos, Greece. So, Greece always has a special place in my heart, it’s my home away from home. Santorini specifically because I went one year with my sister, cousin and best friend and the island stuck with me.”
“The ceremony took place at Venetsanos Winery in Santorini, Greece.”
“My wedding dress is the Rossella dress made by Calla Blanche. I love this dress and wish I could wear it every day. I tried it on while I was out looking for dresses and I loved it but didn’t buy immediately. I went to 4 or 5 other stores to try on dresses to make sure that was The One and it was!”
“For my flower bouquet I chose long-stemmed peonies, avalanche roses, garden roses, astrantia, hypericum, and lysianthus.”
“The style/ concept of our wedding was romantic and simple. I wanted a look that was going to be timeless, so I stayed with white flowers, greenery, and candles as decor. My bridesmaids wore sage color dresses and the groomsmen wore light grey.”
“The entire day was amazing! Moments that stuck out to me though was my dad’s and father in law’s speeches. They both couldn’t finish their speeches because they were crying and my first dance with my husband and the fireworks that went along with it”.
Advice to a bride-to-be: “Planning gets stressful, but on the day of the wedding try not to worry about anything! The day is filled with so much love and happiness that you should take it all in!”
