With marsala hues, blackberry, deep green and elegant cream tones, this beautiful European wedding captured by Peter and Veronica Photography is absolutely stunning to say the least. The wedding reception took place in the romantic setting of the Chateau Grand Castle in Slovakia (yes you read correctly, a castle!) and you will see, this beyond lovely affair is full of romantic wedding inspiration!
From the bride: “We wanted our wedding to have a magical spark. Like something just out of Lord of the Rings. The lavish greenery with carefully picked flowers, the glimmering candlelight, the mix of colors, smoke coming out of cocktails, and soft piano music all played out to create an unforgettable atmosphere for all of us. My husband and I both love nature. Therefore we chose a place set amid Slovak mountains surrounded by forests and rivers. The castle itself is packed with ancient charm. It is a beautifully renovated renaissance hotel with a gothic ruin in the middle and we immediately fell in love with it. Because of the historical settings where stone is omnipresent, we wanted to warm up the courtyard and so-called “Stone galley” by a combination of Marsala, blackberry, powder and cream tones underlined by deep green. The flower arrangements were intricate, yet somehow negligent at the same time…”
“We gathered our guests one day in advance for an informal barbeque party. This simple act made all the difference, as the day of the wedding the people already knew each other and could fully enjoy the wedding itself. We didn’t care much about local conventions. We skipped the obligatory folk music and invited Beatles revival group and a punk rock band instead. We wanted everything to be the way we imagined and though it took months of planning, it was absolutely worth it…”
