Be prepared to be swept off your feet over the loveliness you are about to witness. An amazing destination wedding in Kefalonia (this Greek island is amongst the most beautiful places to see!) planned with perfection by Point of U as a three day event that this handsome couple and their wedding guests will certainly remember for years to come. If there is a wedding that will make you want to get your passport ready and travel to Greece, the beautiful images captured by Thanos Asfis Photography will not make you think twice!
“We met in Astoria, Queens while we were both out with friends. We have spoken every single day since. Matthew proposed at our wedding venue actually, he knew I loved Kefalonia where my family was from, and that I loved this particular restaurant so he brought me out onto their walkway on the water and proposed. We were surrounded by my family who captured the entire thing on video” the bride shared with us.
“My advice for other brides is that there will always be a million things to do for the wedding and even on the wedding day, but at some point you just have to let it go, let someone else do it and just go with it, it’s a time to celebrate not be critical of every detail.”
“The ceremony took place in the town of Kourkoumelata in Kefalonia. We chose to get married in Kefalonia because my family comes from the island and I feel a strong connection to it. The first time I brought Matthew there he too felt like it was home to him after being around our family for three years and hearing us talk about it. We had 120 guests fly from the United States to spend the week with us celebrating our special union.”
“Pinterest was where I found all the ideas and looks for the wedding.”
“My wedding dress was a white dress with lace and beading, it had a pink underlay. I chose to go with the pink because of the bright colors that exist on the island of Kefalonia.”
“I wanted a romantic modern style with pastels and silver/gold mixed in. I wanted lots of candles and lights to create a comfortable environment. I asked for white and pastel colored flowers, roses and other flowers were used to create this look.”
“As soon as we decided on the venue which is where we were engaged, we knew we didn’t have to do much to make it look nice as the place was already beautiful, but since the venue had a nightclub feel, I did want to add some softness and romantic ambiance appropriate for the wedding. We chose grey tablecloths and worked from there adding metallic vases and candles, and pastel flowers to bring in all the colors as my wedding dress had a pink underlay and the bridal party was also in grey and pink colors.”
“The best moment of my wedding was when my husband and I were served dinner at 6 am at our wedding venue. We were so overwhelmed during the night we didn’t have an appetite, but when it was all over, our venue had kept and warmed up our dinner and we dined at the end of the night at our sweetheart table, it was surreal.”
