“We got married in summer in Athens. Kosta and I were both going out for a night on the town with our good friends. We walked by Kosta and his friend, they ended up talking to us as we walked by and invited us for ice cream. My friend and I decided why not, we weren’t going anywhere in particular. There was an instant connection between us. Kosta proposed on October 31st, which is Halloween night in Canada. After taking out kids trick or treating and putting them to bed. I was working on my computer when Kosta came up behind me and asked me if I wanted a trick or a treat. I said the treat, so he handed me a red ring box, but it didn’t look like a ring box, so I had no idea what it was. I thought it was a gift card to somewhere. He told me to open it, and once I did it popped open into this beautiful paper flower with the ring popping up from the middle, and he asked me to be his wife. I was in total shock to say the least! It was the perfect proposal for us”, Chelsea shared with us.
“My wedding dress was custom made from Forever Mine Bridal in Alberta, Canada. I had found her a few years before I got engaged, and knew if I was ever getting married I would get a custom made dress from her. I went to try on wedding dresses, and was able to create my own amazing dress, just for me after figuring out what I liked. I went with a mermaid fit, beaded straps, beaded bodice and a low v back. It was ivory, with a layer of sparkly tulle under the lace of the dress. I also had it custom made to made have a detachable train. I wanted the length for the ceremony, but I do not like bustles so this was the perfect compromise. It was also made with a stretchy lining, which made the dress so easy to move and dance in”.
“We were looking at Chic and Stylish Weddings from the beginning of our wedding planning. With so many weddings from Greece, Chic and Stylish Weddings was always popping up for us on google searches and social media. We really wanted to bring in Greek colors to the wedding. From our previous trips to Greece we fell in love with the Bougainvillea flowers everywhere, as well as all the deep blue tones. We really wanted to incorporate those colors in the wedding, as we felt it was a great representation of our personalities and love for the country. We wanted really minimal, yet beautiful decor. The venue was amazing as itself, so we didn’t want to overpower its natural beauty. My bouquet was mostly bougainvillea, with some beautiful other lighter pink flowers. We also incorporated a lot of pink gold into our decor. Which is a personal favorite of ours. It is so hard to pick what we enjoyed most about the decoration details. It was all just so amazing. If we had to say anything, one of our favorite parts of the decoration details was the candy table, with all the personalized cakes and cookies, as well as the hanging bougainvilleas”.
“Our most favorite moments were being able to watch the fireworks at the end with all of our friends and family and seeing everyone’s excitement. Perfect ending to our dinner”.
Bride’s advice: “Absolutely hire a wedding planner! It was the best decision we ever made. Planning a destination wedding without a planner in 9 months would have been impossible. Our wedding planner Maria Maroulidou with InEventive made everything perfect”.
