On our favorite series “Bloggers say I do”, we are so pleased to share with you today the thoughts and ideas on how Australian wedding blogger Danielle from The Wedding Playbook was to plan her wedding if she was to get married today! Danielle is one half of the mother-daughter duo behind their beautiful blog and free online magazine that is dedicated to sharing stunning and achievable wedding ideas. We want you to love the experience as much as the details!
“Like Ariana from Hey Wedding Lady, I’m also envisioning a future wedding! To be honest, I’ve never truly considered how I would want my wedding day to look before, mostly because I love so many different color palettes and styles. When it comes time to talk plans with my husband-to-be, there’ll likely be a few adjustments (insert the groom’s arrival by vintage sports car here), but for now, here’s my idea of a good party!”
Wedding Style
“I love when brides aren’t afraid to bend traditional ‘rules’ to create their own style – anything is possible now, particularly with the number of incredible ideas (and talented suppliers) at our fingertips. I can see myself planning an elegant and relaxed celebration filled with romantic lighting, beautiful flowers, and a focus on creating a special experience for guests”.
Color Palette
“Rich and opulent, featuring berry tones, navy and touches of gold. Gold would appear in candlesticks and calligraphy, navy in suiting, linens and stationery, and berry tones in lip color, gorgeous florals and fresh fruits”.
Dress & Shoes
“I know when the time comes, I’ll go into the wedding dress search with a completely open mind! There are so many details I love, like sheer necklines, embellished bodices and soft skirts which flow and catch the light beautifully with each step. I also love a bit of sparkle, so my shoes would add a touch of bling, while still being comfortable enough to wear from the aisle to the dance floor”.
Wedding Ceremony
“An indoor space filled with character and charm would be the go for me – no need to check the forecast every few minutes in the days leading up! Chandeliers, green garlands and a sprinkling of petals would finish off the setting beautifully”.
Wedding Reception
“Somewhere with incredible food and instant atmosphere – like a cosy restaurant filled with candles and lighting, and intimate table settings so everyone can talk easily. I love paper craft and calligraphy, so beautiful menus at each place would be the perfect complement to lush floral centerpieces. Styled lounge seating would also be a great addition for guests to kick back and relax throughout the evening”
Wedding Cake
“I’ve always loved cakes that you can eat with your eyes, so a naked cake overflowing with fresh berries would not only be a lovely tie in to the color palette but a delicious treat. If there’s any way to incorporate a drizzle of salted caramel, I would be very happy!”
Wedding Favors
“An after-dinner chocolate, perhaps some handmade truffles which double as place cards.Individual jars of hot cocoa mix and marshmallows would also be easy to DIY (are you noticing a sweet tooth here?)”
Entertainment
“A live band is a great way to help create atmosphere and get people on the dance floor, so that’s a must-have for me!I also love the idea of a bucket list guest book, where friends and family share adventures they think you and your significant other should complete together. Not only would this be a beautiful keepsake, but a simple way to help break the ice for guests who don’t yet know each other”.
Honeymoon
“The Whitsundays, Australia – think pristine beaches, gorgeous weather and luxurious resorts where you can choose to do as much (or as little) as you want. On my last visit, we spotted whales from the hotel balcony, explored the beautiful coral reef and enjoyed many a cocktail at sunset!”
What beautiful wedding ideas! I especially loved the truffle place card idea, so creative!
And… my dear brides-to-be don’t miss out on the very helpful wedding style and beauty tips from past brides that Danielle has collected in her fabulous new free e-book. Thank you Danielle!
