Today we are featuring a wonderful beach wedding that took place in Xylokastro, Greece! Deny and Nicolas chose to seal the deep with the blue sea as the backdrop. An idyllic venue by the sea was decorated beautifully with fresh flowers, shells and candles in white and blue hues making the scenery even dreamier and more romantic. The wooden dessert table with all sorts of sweet treats and refreshing drinks, decorated with fabrics and flower bouquets in white and blue hues gave a rustic touch to the place. The bride’s look was so chic and stylish, wearing a boho crop top combined with a skirt with lace embroideries. The bride shared with us: “We met through the martial art as we practised together and our engagement happened during our trip to New Zealand. During the wedding ritual in Greece we didn’t exchange rings but “pounamu” (Jades that are highly valued by the Maori) that had a very important meaning for both of us.”
“The ceremony took place in Xylokastro in Sikyon Coast Hotel and Resort, Greece.”

“Oh, my wedding dress.. It’s Zimmermann. 2 pieces. Our wedding was very different, it had nothing to do with the classic, traditional weddings as it was a moment only for us and the guests. In this concept, I wanted also my wedding dress to be something different, unusual, unique and something that the people could see myself in it. My husband was amazed by the choice too!”

“We thought that this location would be very convenient for all the guests (as most of them haven’t been in Greece before we wanted something very nice, not too touristic and with easy access from abroad); they would have a mini holiday weekend, in a very close distance from the airport, with all inclusive (beach, hotel, party, sea, sun and beer).”

“The concept was the beach. Blue and white were the colours and the idea was to emphasize the beauty of the place, the sun, the blue sky, the mountains and the sea (same as the paper wedding invitation).”

“I didn’t have a bouquet (I was holding my vows booklet), I had only Gypsophila in my hair and I have given to my maids of honour the same flower corsage for their hands. The groom and the best man had the equivalent boutonnieres.”

“The best moment of our wedding was the ritual by the beach. We exchanged our Jades and our vows in front of everyone. Nothing was prepared and nobody knew the wordings so for everybody everything was a surprise. Also it was a unique experience for everyone as it wasn’t a usual, traditional wedding. Instead of rice we launched some balloons at the end.”

“As mentioned above, the concept was the sea, the atmosphere of the beach, so we told the decorator our thoughts and she amazed us. We didn’t have table numbers but table names (names of areas in Greece that we have visited) and they were decorated with sea shells, starfish, candles etc. We had some hats for the gentlemen and some fans and flip flops for the ladies too and the guests loved these little accessories. The candy bar was delicious with Greek and French delights. We have made our own favours. The decoration was incredible! One of a kind!”

Bride’s Advice: “The most difficult thing to get is the venue. After you find this, just relax, and do slowly one by one the things you need to do by enjoying them (like buying, checking out decorations etc). Everything will go fine, you don’t need to worry. After we found the venue we really enjoyed everything. We had the greatest time of our life. We loved it!”
