The styled shoot we are featuring today is so romantic and dreamy! The natural beauty of this stunning island of Santorini, the deep blue sea, the romantic gazebo decorated with flowy white fabrics and flowers and the female figure with an Indian bridal outfit, create the most gorgeous result that will mesmerize you. The gold detailing ran throughout all elements of the styling in this styled shoot. We fell in love with this luxurious decoration with colourful flower arrangements in golden vases combined with an elegant tableware in white and gold hues decorated with peach napkins. Check out the following images and feel completely transported to this breathtaking island!
Radhika & You shared with us: “Our concept was an Indian romantic wedding in Santorini. Santorini is known for its picturesque views, romantic settings and is a highly sought-after international wedding destination which made it the perfect setting for our shoot concept and also aligned with our inspiration above.”
“Asian couples are now testing boundaries more as they are planning their big day themselves. Couple’s are opting for a non-traditional setting for their religious ceremony which is depicted in the shoot. Couples are always wanting to have an outdoor ceremony which isn’t always possible in the UK due to the weather. This is one of the key reasons couples are now wanting to get married abroad. The shoot shows an intimate ceremony setting which is attractive to many modern Asian couples. They are now wanting to invite their immediate family and friends only for their big day as they want an intimate ceremony.”
“We have found couples are very much about the details – therefore we ensured the setting we created were detail-led. We used gold tableware to compliment the floral arrangements. The gold detailing ran throughout all elements of the styling in the shoot. We incorporated coloured napkins with beautifully detailed gold napkin rings, to add a touch of colour to place-setting itself. An upwards trend for Asian weddings is having table name cards for all guests which we wanted to incorporate into the table set up along with menu cards for each place. Different shaped tables are also on a continuous upwards trend in Asian weddings – so instead of creating our look across several round tables, we wanted to create a long VIP style head table. This would work well for an abroad wedding due to the smaller numbers as well as in the UK for the ‘VIP immediate family tables’.”
“The venue itself where we did the shoot has a rooftop which is perfect for the ceremony – civil, Hindu, Sikh etc. There is a beautiful area in the hotel, which is perfect for the evening reception where guests would enjoy the dinner, use the bar and of course dance the night away! To capture the essence of a couple having their on the day shoot, we took the model for a walk around the Imerovigli area to capture her shots near iconic buildings/viewings.”
“We created 2 looks for the model – a contemporary bridal look for the ceremony and a glam evening look which would be perfect for an evening reception.”
“Brides are also opting for non-traditional wedding colours when it comes to their Indian bridal outfits which is what we’ve gone for in this shoot with two stunning pieces from Dina Kashap’s collection. Brides getting married abroad are worried about getting too hot in the outfit, therefore we ensured the outfits we opted for were heavy enough to be bridal, but factoring in the heat and having shorter sleeves for example and lighter materials. Brides are opting for contemporary bridal jewellery which we really wanted to capture in the shoot. Goenka’s pieces worked perfectly for this!”
“Nishma from Doves and Peacock created a beautiful set of stationery for the shoot using a bespoke tiled pattern she created for all of the stationery items. The stationery had an Indian-Greek twist to it as she used the pinks and peaches with a touch of the traditional Greek blue.”
