We could hardly take our eyes off Stephanie and Nicolas’ wedding in Montreal for so many reasons! «We met on a dating app called Hinge in November of 2021 and a year later got engaged! One weekday, after a long day at work, Nicolas was preparing dinner. He played to his clumsy self and pretended to drop a pile of food all over the floor. As I ran to see what a disaster was surely too clean, I found Nicolas on one knee proposing to spend the rest of our lives making these memories together. », the bride shared with us.

Their wedding decoration was filled with white and bright yellow flowers that truly stood out against the whitewashed walls of the beautiful villa’s courtyard and as the bride mentioned to us: «This choice was not only reminiscent of the wildflowers of the Alentejo but also happens to be Christian’s favorite color. «Christian and I crossed paths in January 2015 in Lisbon, where we initially connected on Tinder. Surprisingly, instead of diving into a romantic relationship, we became close friends for the first 5-6 months. During this time, Christian resided in a spacious shared apartment with an amazing group of international individuals, fostering an environment brimming with laughter and fond memories. I distinctly recall our shared dinners, with Christian constantly showcasing his culinary skills, creating a sense of home for all of us who lacked family nearby. As our friendship deepened over time, transitioning into something more felt natural. Our connection always remained grounded in a foundation of mutual understanding and respect. Christian, to me, became synonymous with family.»

«Fast forward to nearly six years of dating, including two years enduring the challenges of a long-distance relationship. In June 2021, Christian planned an incredibly thoughtful and surprising proposal that took place at one of my favorite spots in Lisbon, the Gulbenkian garden. With the help of our close friends who work in commercial film and photography, together they orchestrated a fake photoshoot for a “Tourism Portugal” campaign. We were “asked” to pose as models for the shoot. Little did I know, Christian had a different plan in mind. As we went through the motions of the photoshoot, Christian disappeared for a moment. When he returned, he got down on one knee and proposed, catching me completely off guard. It was a beautiful and emotional moment, surrounded by the greenery of the garden and the support of our friends. We drew a lot of inspiration from our stunning venue and the breathtaking natural surroundings of Casa da Volta. After extensive research, I discovered an incredible local florist duo whose floral arrangements resembled works of art from nature itself. «Our official ceremony remained intimately small, with only 14 guests in total—our immediate family and a select few friends serving as witnesses. Drawing from my extensive background in theatre and performing arts, I really wanted to create an intimate setting that stripped away the performative elements often associated with traditional weddings. »

«It’s quite challenging to pinpoint our absolute favorite moment, but if pressed to choose, I’d say it was the dinner we shared at the round table surrounded by our friends and family. Throughout the day, several perfect moments stood out to us. We felt incredibly fortunate that all our guests were able to stay directly at the venue, which created a wonderfully warm atmosphere for the entire day. Everyone chipped in to create a delightful brunch spread for everyone to enjoy while we prepared for the festivities. Christian’s mother kindly assisted me in steaming my dress, and, of course, my mother was there every step of the way as I got ready. The ceremony itself was deeply meaningful, and afterward, we all gathered for a celebratory dinner filled with conversation and laughter and our delicious cake! The entire day felt like a cozy home gathering, where every moment was filled with warmth and laughter, making it truly special. »

Deep down, we always knew the kind of celebration we wanted, but it was easy to get sidetracked by internet and Instagram trends. Our goal was to create a day that celebrated our love, with some traditional elements but mainly focused on bringing our families together. Christian and I worked closely, using spreadsheets, and having regular meetings to stay aligned.

«My dress was by Rembo Styling, an atelier from Portugal. It took quite some time and research to find the right one. I was looking for something simple, without too much embellishment. As a former ballet dancer, I’ve worn beautiful costumes, and many wedding dresses I saw reminded me of that style. While it could work for some weddings, it wasn’t what I wanted. In the end, I chose a simple square neck dress with a small train that flowed nicely. It came with a matching square belt. The shop where I purchased it, Vesidus in Lisbon, did an excellent job with the order, tailoring, and pickup. »

«We met through a mutual friend. My best friend from high school had joined the San Francisco Police Academy in 2018. As their academy was coming to an end in 2019, my friend through a birthday party where she included friends from high school, college, and her academy buddies. At that birthday party, the mutual friend introduced me to Bryan, but there was very minimal conversation. It wasn’t for a couple weeks until Bryan messaged me to ask me out on our first date.»

«In January of 2021, we went to Lake Tahoe with another couple to have a winter weekend away! On the first day of our trip, the four of us drove to Sand Harbor beach which overlooked the lake with snow surrounding us. On January 21st, Bryan dropped to one knee and proposed to me. Our two best friends were there to document the entire moment but at the same time it was so intimate and perfect. We had the whole weekend to celebrate and was really the best weekend. », the bride shared with us.

My aesthetic and vision for this wedding was desert neutrals. I wanted to focus on cream, sand, desert tones to really highlight the venue and location. My bouquet included quicksand roses, hydrangeas, white phalaenopsis, white ranunculus, and Sahara colored roses. The style of decoration was inspired by the desert and the mountains.

«Neutral tones have always been my aesthetic and I wanted to stick to that. From the furniture rentals to the throw pillows, and the small details, it all came together. I rented canvas colored furniture, with light wooden tables, and neutral linens to tie it all in. The details included custom cream cocktail napkins, custom matches, and signage that was the cherry on top. I absolutely love matches and think it is an old school keep sake that everyone loves. I didn’t want to include a favor that many have done before and wanted something that people can actually use. The matches were my signature touch! At our ceremony, we included minimalist cream fans on each seat and beautiful florals on each row and at the altar. »

The bride’s advice: «I know everyone says it, and I know it is easier said than done, but on the day of you need to enjoy every moment. You spent months and months planning, having meetings, and taking long calls to plan this day. Trust that all has been done, and for whatever goes wrong, no one else will know but you. I can confidently say I woke up on my wedding day ready to spend the day with my closest friends and ready to marry my best friend with no worry. I trusted the process that I have done everything I could up until that point, and it is now time to just enjoy the day and not stress about anything that comes my way. The day goes by too fast, enjoy your day with your partner, it is what you have been waiting for months. »

My favorite moment from our wedding was our final dance. After the after party and In N Out truck ended, Bryan and I shared one last dance before their final departure. It was super important to the bride and groom to share one last moment just the two of them to really soak up the whole day. We shared our final dance to the song Better Together by Luke Combs, and it was the perfect last moment.

«My wedding dress was made in Australia, and I bought it from Novella Bridal in San Francisco. I always knew what type of wedding dress I wanted and after trying on many dresses, I went back to the style I always had my heart set on. My dress had a sweetheart neckline and was fitted until the hips and started to flare out a bit. The lines and details on this dress were absolutely perfect. The lines of buttons all down my back was something I always wanted on my dress. Lastly, I worked with my seamstress to add custom loose sleeve straps that snapped on the back of the dress. The loose look of the sleeve completed the dress. »

«I was working at Nespresso then and he saw me from a distance. He came 1-2 times pretending to be a client, so we talked, but the third time was a charm, he asked for my phone number, and we started talking ever since. Our first date was an escape room and that’s how he proposed to me 3 years later. All the clues led to the ring, which was in a safe the entire time, until he let me find the key to open it and he was already on his knees when I turned around. «I had a vision and our vendors made it happen. They went above and beyond for us, and we are very grateful. We were looking for a romantic wedding and we got it with the black and white theme. First, our guests walked down an aisle of white flowers and sand candles to the sound of the violinist performing on site before making their way to their table. I wanted the family tables to stand out, so we added black candelabras in addition to the beautiful flowers. The black tablecloths on the tables made the white roses and candles stand out even more, creating the perfect feel. If you know me, you know I’m a Disney fan, so the Disney castle cake with Mickey & Minnie on top was our little touch of magic. It was a room full of love and we felt it. Everything was fun, intimate, and charming. Dancing the night away and eating pizza as a midnight snack was the absolute best! »

My wedding dress was a dream. I first saw Posie online and knew it was my dress. It was everything I had hoped for and more! I felt so beautiful in this dress when I first tried it on at Dress Scoop in Montreal. The sequined 3D floral lace was an eye-catching detail. The unique white veil complemented it perfectly, and we completed the look with the soft tulle straps that can be removed for an entirely strapless corset look or a delicate off-the-shoulder drape.

Italy is always a good idea, especially for a destination wedding in Tuscan! With panoramic views of the rolling Tuscan hills below, Sarika and Luke shared their first moments as newlyweds in an al fresco garden of a beautiful villa with stunning views. We are completely smitten by all the Indian wedding traditions with the flower garlands, impressive red roses and lush greenery with linoleum set a scene that simply took our breath away! Nikos Gogas captured every beautiful moment from this couple’s wedding and we are simply bursting to share their story with you today!

“We got married in summer in Tavarnelle Val de Pesa, Florence. We met each other upon starting a new job in the New York City metro area! Luke set out to find his soulmate and took a chance at seeing who might “click” on match.com. He came across a profile that charmed him instantly of a beautiful lady with big dreams but strong roots. That was Sarika. After connecting online and the phone, he jumped on the train to New York City to meet her in person at a French restaurant. After five hours of amazing conversation and discovering a deep sense of connection, the relationship took off from there and the rest made history! Luke kneeled down and asked Sarika to spend the rest of her life with him on the banks of the Hudson River with the setting sun on a warm summer evening with the breathtaking New York skyline as the backdrop. And she said yes! She couldn’t imagine spending the rest of her life with anyone else. My wedding dress was an Indian bridal Lehenga which I loved. It was a beautiful red silhouette with hand embroidered flowers”, Sarika shared with us.

“Sarika, the architect always had a love affair with Florence and its beauty, architecture, landscape and rich history. She dreamed of getting married in Florence since college. This dream came true in June 2019 at a beautiful Tuscan villa in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa surrounded by stunning vistas with a view of the city of Florence. This setting was breathtakingly picture perfect and they wanted to celebrate this natural landscape and keep everything else very simple and elegant. The outdoor wedding ceremony was unique as it was a combination of Indian and western traditions. The flowers that we chose were large dark red and peach roses with linolium. The ceremony took place under an olive tree with rolling Tuscan hills and vineyards as the backdrop. There were garlands made with large red roses that we exchanged according to the Indian wedding traditions. The reception had round tables with beautiful and simple rose arrangement in the middle, wine corks holding guests name and candeles and all the tables situated with hanging string lights above. It was a magical outdoor evening setting that we loved!”

“The most favourite moment from our wedding is when we exchanged our vows to each other that we had composed ourselves with the live. harp and violin music in the background with all our friends and family from all over the world set in the beautiful Tuscan landscape”.

Bride’s advice: “This was a destination wedding for us. Our advice would be to find a place that truly resonates with you for your wedding and has deep meaning. The bride shared with us: “We had a summer wedding in Tarragona, Spain. We meet each other by chance. We were having a common friend, but we didn’t know each other. Furthermore, we meet each other on the common friend birthday, it was a fantastic night, where we dance all night long. The next day, by the way, we see each other like a new friend but precisely an intimate friend of each one, told us the same thing in parallel to both: That they have seen something special in our eyes when we look each other. After that specific fact, both start to look at the other, and we start talking. And fortunately we could say “till the day”.”

“The wedding blog Chic and Stylish Weddings helped me to inspire my ideas. I was checking the different weddings, take notes of the most popular ideas for me, and try to copy or implement them into my ideal weeding.”

“Decoration is one of my passion, so I was very implicated with that topic. The style of the decoration was inspired by a wild style, and also we want to create a festival party ambient. So we mix both topics and we create a big “wild” festival.”

“The wedding dress was customized. I saw a Demetrios body that I fell totally in love, so I choose it, but then, what I designed was the skirt… It was inspired also by a Demetrios dress but created specially and with special details for me. I also have a special second dress, it was my mother dress, I customized it a little and when the party starts, and we did the typical dance, I appear with this special dress and with a pair of converse, prepared to the party.”

“We spent the Friday afternoon in Genís village square celebrating games to allow guests to meet each other before the wedding day. Also, the day after the weeding, we celebrate a “paella popular” a lunch typical that is often celebrating in the villages during the summer period.”

“About the wild flowers and style that I was focused, I want all the wedding full of “pampas” and we started to collect by ourselves one year before, due to the fact that the pampas grow up in September, and we keep them during all the year. For that reason, I have “pampas” in my bouquet, and also the groom had “pampas”. Also, I want to emphasize, that all the details of the weeding were devised by us; and we spent part of the year creating all of these details.”

“It’s impossible to choose my favorite moment of our wedding, all the wedding moments were so special.”

Bride’s Advice: “I used to tell them that the most important fact is booked the place where the wedding is going to take the party, the photographer and videographer, and then after you have this booked, then relax and enjoy the process, because it’s also part of the wedding.”

Beautiful floral designs in dusty pink hues, a picturesque village and a wonderful couple make today’s wedding look like a fairytale! Those two lovebirds choose to seal their love surrounded by the  mesmerizing natural beauty of a small village in Thesprotia, called Perdika. Their ceremony took place in a lovely chapel where beautiful bohemian flower arrangements by their talented florist Elpida Salouka created the most wonderful setting to host their celebration of love. We fell in love with this incredible corridor with wooden stands and lots of flowers which ended up in a beautiful flower arch adorned with ivory fabrics, pampas grass and fresh flowers in dusty pink hues.
