Stephanies and Fraser’s wedding is everything we dream of when we think of a summer wedding in Crete! «We met in 2019 whilst backpacking through Southeast Asia at a hostel in Cambodia. We were both on solo trips and met at the latter end of our travels. We spent four days together and fell in love. We had a long-distance relationship for six months (England & Australia), before Fraser moved to Australia where we have lived since. We have now been together for nearly 5 years and still travel as much as possible! Fraser proposed to me at home. We were sitting on the couch one evening and he passed me a box. I opened it, saw the ring, and kept saying over and over “Is this real!?”. I was in complete shock. We then spent the weekend in the Yarra Valley wine region in Victoria, Australia celebrating, drinking amazing wine and having beautiful tasting menus. It was perfect. His original plan was to propose at a winery that weekend, however, the weather forecast was expecting lots of rain. He said he couldn’t wait so proposed the night before at home. », the bride shared with us.

«We had a destination wedding, which was so much fun! Our venue was absolutely beautiful, truly what dreams are made of! All the food and wine were farm to table and the service was immaculate. The venue is rustic and full of character with amazing views over the vineyards.»

Our floral decorations were romantic and classic. We had white florals only, white rose bouquets, bud vases with a variety of white florals, rose petals down the aisle and a floral feature above us at the ceremony.

«The table setting decorations included white florals, a white table runner down the center, candles, a white/gold macaroon, and personalized guest menus. We also wrote handwritten cards to each guest which they loved. Our cake was a two-tier butter cream cake decorated with roses. We included our dog, Harvey, by having a personalized cocktail bar sign made containing his illustration. During cocktail hour we had signature cocktails served. »

«Fraser’s family live in England and my family live in Australia. The week we got married was the first time our friends and family got to meet in person. It was so special to us to have everyone together. We had a destination wedding in Crete, Greece…»

The bride’s advice: «Research your vendors, having amazing vendors are key, they will make your day run so smoothly, organize a late night snack for your guests, we had chicken gyros, they were amazing, have a range of songs for all ages to ensure everyone will get up on the dance floor.»

«I wore Harry by Made with Love Bridal. My dress had a plunging, draped back, statement detachable train and figure-hugging silhouette. As the train was detachable, I was able to have two looks, a train for walking down the aisle and it removed during cocktail hour / dinner. My dress was made from French crepe. My second dress for the reception was a white strapless mini dress with a big bow and train. It was perfect to change into in the evening to wear on the dance floor. »

«We met when we were 18 in a suit shop, we were both working part-time while studying. We became great friends and didn’t realize that we both had feelings beyond friendship. After around 5 years of friendship, we finally declared our feelings for one another! «We were college sweethearts. Our love story began in college at the University of Georgia. We caught each other’s eye in our junior year business classes. Our first date was breakfast at Walker’s Coffee Shop before class and there was immediate chemistry, at least enough to warrant a second date at a more exciting location! Then we were college sweethearts all our junior and senior years. The rest is history! The Proposal. It has been an exciting seven years. «The entire wedding weekend was such a dream come true. Being Greek, getting married in Greece brought my “Big Fat Greek Wedding” and “Mamma Mia” fantasies to life! We have been together 10 years and he proposed to me during a travel adventure in Dubrovnik. He has organized everything. «We had two bouquets with flowers. The one which I held in the church, and it was a cascading orchid bouquet and the other which I dropped to my friends with pink roses and peonies. The wedding decoration which we chose was pink and white roses. We had the same decoration in the church and on the wedding tables. We had white balloons that we enjoyed a lot at the end of the wedding because at end our wedding with our first dance as a married couple, all our friends grabed the balloons from the chairs and let them loose in the sky. “Our families are friends therefore we have known each other since we were children. However, we never became anything serious until 9 years ago when Ross messaged me out of the blue. We went on a date the following day and have not been apart since! Ross proposed in front of the whole family on our eldest daughter’s 2nd birthday party. She came downstairs with a top on that stated, ‘Mummy will you marry my daddy?’”, bride share with us.

“Modern, but luxury was the theme. We wanted everything to be very neutral. Therefore, white was our color scheme. A simple wedding and let the breathtaking view speak for itself! We used white roses and white gypsophila for the flowers – they were everywhere, bouquets, headbands, on the isle, flower arch and all over the tables! Lights were also important for us, they were everywhere, they transformed the venue!”

“My wedding gown was white with lace and glitter. Very gutted with a huge train and matching veil! It was a Martina Liana dress. Completely opposite to what I expected! I aimed for a simple satin gown but came out with something so different! I’m glad I did, I will never in my life wear a dress like that again. “Nik and I first met in Bristol, at the hotel where we both worked. I don’t think you can say it was love at first sight, he was the arrogant Head Chef and I was the pesky Event Coordinator! After about 6 months of Nik trying to woo me (with inappropriate flirting in the sales office), I decided to give him a shot and went on a date with him. And the rest is history. It was probably the best decision of my life! Whilst we were in Greece, visiting his family, Nik decided it would be the perfect time to propose. He spontaneously came up with the idea of taking me to the Poseidon temple just outside Athens (my star sign is Pisces, so it was the perfect fit), whilst the sun was setting and the huge August full moon was rising. It was impossible to say no, which I did scream before saying yes! It was so romantic and I couldn’t have dreamt of a better way to get engaged”.

“The decorations for the wedding combined by love of everything boho/chic with a touch of edgy Bristol by using a local graffiti artist Tozer. She was amazing to work with and designed out welcome sign, place cards, menu and ceremony book. As a last-minute addition, I added a quirky cocktail sign which we have hanging in our kitchen to this day. This was one of my favourite aspects of the day because it was like bringing a part of the UK into Greece, the two-world joining! For the flowers, I wanted a really rustic and effortless feel and decided to go with burnt orange and olive green. We used the talented Manfler who made everything from the centre pieces to my head band. I cannot forget the little bit of Nik which made it into the wedding. He is absolutely obsessed with Lego, so there had to be some on our big day. The cake toppers were Lego Hercules and Princess Jasmin, which seemed fitting as he is my Greek god, and I am his Arabic princess (I grew up in the Middle East). Everything came together perfectly.

“Advice I would give any future brides is take your time finding the vendors you love. There is no need to rush into making any decision (as long as you plan far enough in advance). If you chose a beautiful venue like Agreco Farms, less is definitely more. There is no need to spend a fortune of flowers when the venue sets the scene. I was lucky enough to not need a wedding planner (as that was my job in the UK), but I would recommend one if you don’t have experience as it can get very stressful”.

“My most favourite moment of the wedding has to be the music. We chose the Marmitas, a local band from Chania. They played exactly what I was after, a combination of Reggie, jazz and our favourite rock and roll. We worked closely with Jojo, the front man of the band to put together our perfect playlist. They even got us on stage singing Bad to the Bone which was entertaining to say the least. I loved their swinging saxophone and the powerful harmonica solo. They got everyone on the dance floor. I also loved our traditional Greek guitar duet who we found using Manthos, the owner of Wedding Bands in Greece. They played me down the aisle whilst I walked in with my father, and also during our cocktail reception. It set the perfect atmosphere and also got the Groom and Groomsmen dancing Zorba, which everyone loved, including me!”

“I was a bit greedy and had two beautiful wedding dresses. My first dress was the stunning Rue dress by Evie Young. It was a figure-hugging lace dress with a dramatic leg split. When I first put on the dress, I knew it would be the one. It had a rustic feel, but with a modern twist which fit my personality to a T. I finished the look with the matching vein for the ceremony, which added to the traditional vibes I was trying to achieve. The outfit was complete with my gorgeous Vercase heels, an early wedding present from my Groom. As my first dress had an impressive train, I knew I needed a shorter dress to dance the night away in (so I wouldn’t fall and trip). This dress proved more difficult to find, until I found the Lisa dress by Rime Arodaky. This dress gave me everything and more. The dramatic change from rustic to city chic was exactly what I was going for, and I was absolutely obsessed with dancing with my balloon lace sleeves. I finished this look with some flat Dolce and Gabbana sandals which included my something blue”.

“Antoni and I met at a Giorgos Mazonakis concert in Boston, MA. I was there with my cousin and he was there with his family and friends. His friends happened to be friends of mine from back home. Our mutual friends waved us down from a distance. My cousin and I stayed a little while longer to catch up with everyone. It was at that moment that I was introduced to my future husband. In July of 2020, Antoni planned a vacation trip for us in Miami, Florida. It was there that he proposed after a beautiful dinner on the roof top of 1 Hotel on July 11th. With champagne in hand, we did a cheers to forever together”, Kanella mentioned to us.

“My husband and I wanted a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony with a modern twist. The vision for our big day was all white everything to capture a modern, classy, elegant, and sexy atmosphere. We wanted to incorporate a variety of white flowers including white roses, peonies, hydrangea, orchids and Eustoma amongst some greenery for all floral decor at the church as well as the reception. Enkipo elevated the natural beauty of our chosen locations with a floral archway in front of the church and elegant candle lit lanterns lining the aisle staircase. “Though there were countless memorable moments from our special day the one that stood out the most as my favorite was during the blessing and crowning ceremony of the wreaths. Once our best man exchanged the crowns on our head three times and the priest led us to walk around the alter I got to experience the revelation. The layers of vintage laces sculpt the body to enhance the curves, especially in the side cutouts which are masked with ivory tulle. A train and veil extending six feet in length were sure to make a statement”.

The bride shared with us: “Ilario and I met in Corralejo, Fuerteventura while working together as sport entertainers in a hotel. We spent a year there before moving to Berlin together. Four years later, while on a trip back to our favorite beach in Fuerteventura, Ilario proposed to me at the ocean’s edge. It was a beautiful moment, and we both knew it was the perfect place to start our journey together as a married couple.”

“We wanted our wedding to have a tropical feel, so we chose beautiful sterlitzias, palm leaves, and other tropical flowers for our decorations and bouquets. Our tables were adorned with pineapples, which added to the tropical theme. The ceremony itself was a dream come true – we got married on the beach with white chairs and a stunning arch decorated with palm leaves and flowers. Our planners Caroline and Annika did an amazing job of preparing and coordinating everything. Our favorite part of the day was seeing all our friends and family in Greece, despite the challenges posed by Covid. We felt truly heartwarming as we were able to celebrate with 50 of our loved ones. Dinner was served right next to the beach, where we watched the perfect sunset. The party afterward was filled with lots of fun, dancing, and shots, making it an unforgettable night. Overall, the decorations, flowers, and details of the ceremony and reception exceeded our expectations and made our special day one to remember forever.”

“It’s hard to choose just one favorite moment from our wedding, as the entire day was truly special. However, there was one moment that stood out above the rest. It was walking down the aisle and seeing my fiancé, now husband, smiling at me. I was walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing all the people we love in such a beautiful setting.
