“We met 10 years ago at work. He got down on one knee in a gorgeous setting during a picnic at a beautiful castle in our hometown of Northern Ireland”, Sophie shared with us.

“Our wedding took place on the beautiful Kerasia beach on the North – East coast of Corfu Island. A stunning location that I Sophie have been going to since I was a little girl. We got married on the rocks followed by our reception next to the beach at Kerasia Taverna. It was the most beautiful day. Our vibe was laidback, rustic, boho. Our amazing wedding planner Avi left us speechless at what an amazing job she did. Everything was perfect! After our ceremony and photos we had a delicious Greek style meal, followed by Greek dancing and a dj and saxophone party all night long”.

The bride shared with us: «We met in college! A few years into our undergraduate degrees we attended the same pre-game (American) football party. As the months went by, we routinely ran into each other on campus, at our regular watering hole, and even went on a few dates. Nothing serious ever developed while we were in college. After graduating and moving to separate states we didn’t hear much from one another but stayed in touch. A few years later, I accepted a job in Seattle, where Andrew was living and working. Guess who quickly volunteered to be a personal tour guide of the city? After Andrew helped me find an apartment and move-in, we went on a few dates. And finally, I agreed to place a label on the relationship after the third ask from Andrew… After moving in together, adopting a puppy, moving to California, USA, and years of dating Andrew decided to plan a special day around an already planned visit to Seattle. He started the morning by asking if Ι would like to grab coffee and walk the lake before brunch with friends. Seattleites will always say, “yes,” to two things: coffee and hikes. We decided on a hike near one of our old Seattle homes. The lake where we taught our dog to swim and visited regularly rain or shine. We stopped at one dock where an adorable duo (grandpa and granddaughter) was fishing off the side. Grandpa sat quietly in his camp chair with a fishing pole in hand. His granddaughter lightly complained that no fish could be seen from the dock. After walking up and down the dock I suggested we walk back and head to brunch. Andrew let out a, “wait, one more thing…” where he then pulled a ring, tied to a fishing line, tied to a belt loop out of his pocket. Of course, there was a certain degree of risk in proposing while surrounded by water. It wasn’t until after he got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and the ring was on my finger until he untied the security line».

«I was not sure where to start when picking out a dress. I met with a stylist and led with two requirements: comfortable in hot temperatures and effortless class without a ton of dress structure. My attendant delivered. My second dress was, “the one.” I fell in love with the lace sleeves patterned from leafy ferns. The lace, illusion back, and deep, yet modest, neckline were instant sellers. The A-line body and chiffon skirt provided comfort and coolness through the entire wedding day. Emerald stud earrings to pair with her wedding ring; a veil perched on the crown of a marvelous low up-do; a rose gold hairpiece which added a few additional details and depth to my hair style.»

«Given the lovely coral exterior of the venue, we hoped to tie the floral arrangements and color palate into the overall aesthetic. I am particularly fond of peonies and we were able to incorporate them as a theme for the bridal bouquet, aisle, and altar decorations as well as the table pieces. Because we were traveling from the US to Greece, the idea of including DIY aspects into our wedding would have been difficult. We concluded early on that all decorations would likely be curated and designed in Greece. Neither one of us had a blueprint of what we expected in terms of décor and theme. Both of our jobs are quite demanding and prevented us from spending extra time planning out the finer details of our wedding. We are incredibly grateful to have had such a strong and understanding bond with our wedding planner. Ultimately, many of our decisions were made after Aris from Belli Momenti provided us with multiple options. “What do you think about this flower or that arch?” Aris from Belli Momenti would ask. Our responses to multiple choices would guide Aris to create a stunning visual representation of our ideals and his talents. As Aris put it, “you [Andrew and Sara] build the frame and I [Aris] help paint the picture.”

«One of the hallmarks of our wedding will forever be the circular floral altar and raised aisle. Both of us had one primary vision of our wedding and it included color conveyed through flowers. The coral color of the estate inspired our color palette, but the floral arrangements stole the show and led every other design decision. Table linens, accent pieces, the dessert table, place settings they all took their cues from the flowers. Our reception area featured a large hanging chandelier completely covered in pink garden roses, peonies, dahlias, and other colorful blossoms. Perfectly styled to the chandelier were two three-foot vases perched upon the head table and stuffed with long stemmed flowers full of fragrance. Even after sunset, the flowers continued to provide a visible lightness.»

«We are incredibly thankful to have broken up our day into many moments we are able to easily recall and look back on. Our first look, private vows, ceremony, and reception all felt like individual events. We have heard stories of couples feeling like everything blended and it’s difficult to recall their wedding day. A deliberate approach to each of these moments proved to be invaluable. Our private vows will forever be the most meaningful part of our wedding day. We wanted to set aside a distinct time for just us, take a few breaths, and be with each other. We wanted to say things to one another on our wedding day that mean something special to the other person, but don’t need to be heard by anyone else. To verbalize the little idiosyncrasies of our love that bond us.»

My advice to brides-to-be: «Build time into your schedule to engage and be present with each other. Thankfully, we had so many people reminding us there was nothing to rush through, “this is your wedding, not ours.” It allowed us to cherish every moment. Our brief conversations with one another were filled with love and excitement rather than worry or a schedule. Wedding days are busy and the events can blur together. Check in with yourself, your spouse, and talk to one another. Find a wedding planner you can trust and let them do their job. A good wedding planner wants a beautiful wedding and a happy couple, just like you. If hired, trust their instinct, their resume, and ability to make decisions on your behalf. When hiring your planner treat it like a true job interview. Get to know the candidates, ask questions, and feel out your ability to communicate with one another. You’ll find the right fit if you spend time searching for the right candidates.»

«A wedding ceremony is an intimate moment, and it results in a commitment between two individuals. Commit to a ceremony for the two of you, vows that honor one another, and make decisions that respect each other before anyone else. The reception will have plenty of time for everyone else! Traveling with a group is HARD. Even with a relatively relaxed schedule some people may not be at every event. Some will want more time in and around the group and others will want to do their own thing or take a day off for down time. We found it particularly beneficial to note firm times and required events (shuttle pick-ups, rehearsal dinner, etc.) and for other activities share a loose plan and let people drop in and out. And a recommendation above all others: take that destination wedding leap of faith! Hire local vendors and artists to plan, cater, decorate, and shoot your event. Take advantage of working with local vendors with local knowledge. And certainly enjoy your stay! Our photographers, Sandy and Odysseas are wedding day heroes. Working with them was amazing, easy, and we feel so lucky to have them share their talent with us. That being said, Aris, our wedding planner from Belli Momenti, is a champion of everything else. Through late night and early morning phone and skype calls he guided us through the trials of not only planning a wedding from countries away but did so during a nationwide lockdown. Our day wouldn’t have been possible or gone nearly as smoothly without the amazing team of vendors he tirelessly orchestrated to prepare for the celebration.»

“We had a summer wedding in Corfu Island. We are both doctors, from Lisbon (bride) and Athens (groom). We met in the hospital while we were doing our residency in Switzerland. My ring came from the sky (with a drone) in one of the best trips of our lives, in Patagónia, right in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier. I had two wedding dresses. The first one from Pronovias, in a beautiful lace tissue all over it and a big tail. The second dress, made for dancing all night by Modistas de Lisboa (one atelier in my hometown, Lisbon). This was a white strass dress in a modern design and with a short tail”, Lucia shared with us.

“I was following your sites when we were trying to decide each island and each venue to choose and from Chic and Stylish Weddings I found our wedding planner Belli Moment. Corfu doesn’t need much decoration because it is a stunning island. We always wanted a colorful wedding but still elegant, so we decided to go for blue and peach colors. As kumkuat is a typical orange fruit from Corfu we also had it in our decoration to bring some joy. My bouquet and the arch for the decoration of the DJ platform were exactly as I imagined. As our wedding was all about dancing and party it was so nice”.

“Everything was amazing… It is so difficult to choose a favorite moment. The pre-wedding beach party in Bahia Mare Beach bar was a big success, everyone had so much fun. On the wedding day, arriving by boat at the church was a dream come true, special in this so special church surrounded by the sea. Afterwards, in Nagual Beach bar, dancing all night in front of the sea was amazing”.

Bride’s advice: “We need to trust people you work with, especially your wedding planner. It is so important to work together, be patient and communicate with your vendors really well. It was really good to have everything prepared and decided one week before the wedding. This way I could be with my friends and family the days before and on the wedding day enjoying each moment with no worries”.

Every love story is different but when we saw Aimee’s and Stuart’s wedding photos we were definitely sure that their love will touch your hearts. The couple decided to get married in Corfu, after the romantic proposal on Christmas Eve. Their wedding planner, Belli Momenti transformed the ceremony and dinner place into an intimate feast complete with white hydrangeas, white candles and soft grey tablecloths combined with dusty pink details that created the most romantic atmosphere. Aimee wearing her beautiful wedding gown with lace embroideries arrived in her wheelchair that was creatively decorated with lots of greenery and white blooms. Aimee shared with us: “We got married in Summer in Pelekas area, in Corfu. We met in a pub in 2002 that Stuart worked in & I visited as a student. Stuart proposed on Christmas Eve in 2016. We were at home together, making the final preparations for Christmas Day”.

“We wanted a very simple but elegant wedding, with a wow factor. We chose neutral colors with lots of greenery, almost like a rustic country style theme. We chose to marry against a large floral wreath instead of an arch, a suggestion made by our florist, to compliment the backdrop of the venue. Instead of a bouquet, I chose a delicate wrist corsage, and worked with the florist to design some feature floral decorations for my wheelchair”.

“My wedding dress was a Stella York lace & satin gown in ivory cafe. I had hints of “the feeling” when I saw it in photos, and was lucky enough to find a boutique in my home city that had a sample I could try on. When I put the gown on, it was breathtaking, I was overcome with emotion & knew it was “the one”, and I didn’t need to look anywhere else! My dress was accompanied with an ivory Amanda Wyatt veil”.

“It’s impossible to pick one part we enjoyed the most as every minute was incredible from start to finish.  Our guests reactions upon seeing the venue for the first time, walking down the aisle with my father & brother, the emotion of the ceremony, the incredible food and drinks, celebrating with our beloved family & friends…. it’s impossible to select a moment!”

Bride’s advice:“ Take your time with planning and look to utilize a wedding planner. They have so many unique & bespoke ideas, and their resources and suppliers are endless. Don’t be afraid to trust them whole heartedly with every detail no matter how big or small. There is nothing they can’t do, and are worth their weight in gold at taking all of the stress and worry away, allowing you to focus on enjoying the lead up to the most magical day!”

There’s nothing that grabs our attention faster than a romantic Corfu wedding – especially when it comes with a backdrop of a luxurious sunstone mansion with rustic mood and lovely florals. The pure natural beauty of the bride matched perfectly with her minimal high neck wedding gown while her bridal bouquet with sunflowers and lemon roses added the necessary touch of color to her bridal look. The bride shared with us: “We had a fall wedding in Corfu. We met through mutual friends, and everything was perfect, we just clicked. I then got a job in Dubai for three years so we did a long distance relationship, before moving back to the UK. When I was little my family had a home in Tenerife so it’s has a huge place in my heart and that’s where Graham proposed to me on our balcony.”

“The color theme we had was lemon and ivory. The first bouquet I got bought was by Graham and it was sunflowers, and my grandad has passed and always used to buy lemon roses. So my bouquet was a mixture of the two. I decided to get my bouquet for myself, my bridesmaids and the buttonholes all premade with artificial flowers to ensure I could get these two flowers combined. The theme for the wedding was rustic I absolutely love the combination of wooden and white. We made our confetti ourselves with dried rose petals and placing them into heart cardboard cut outs to hang on each chair. For my flower girl and pageboy they had their own instapicks camera and a list of things to take pictures of e.g the first dance, the best dressed couple etc. The pictures printed off straight away and then we’re stook in their own books as a gift.”

“My wedding dress was made by Kenneth Winston and I got it from a local bridal shop called Dream Dress Bridal. It was stunning. It’s a low back, with a mesh insert coveted in beads and embellishments on the back, buttons from my neck to the bottom of the dress, it had a very long train with a waterfall bottom. The front was high neck in a ivory colour to which I added a diamante belt to accentuate my waist. When I went in to try on dresses this was what I said I didn’t want, I didn’t want something fitted, and I was set on lace. But I tried this dress on due to advice and as soon as I put it on it was love at first sight. It hugged me in all the right places.”

“Seeing my bridesmaids, they looked stunning, hearing my husbands vows and speech, and having our pictures taken was a really lovely experience. I felt like we were in our own little bubble.”

Bride’s Advice: “Expect the unexpected, at first I thought I needed the whole shebang of fireworks, the best of this and that. But when the day happens you forget about everything, you go into your own little bubble with your partner and it’s just amazing, it’s a feeling that you cannot plan and that cannot be explained. Nothing else matters, everything went wrong to the build up with ours due to covid, we had three venue changes, three date changes, one country location change, half of our guests dropped out but the day couldn’t have been more perfect!”

«My husband proposed to me in Corfu in a villa a two-minute drive from the Courti estate, he managed to get both sides of our immediate family all to be there on this holiday staying at the villa together. After a couple of magical days eating; sunbathing and relaxing, loving every second of the Corfu lifestyle. He told the whole family unknowingly to me to go up to the top balcony for the view during sunset hour. Then took me up there and in front of everyone he got down on one knee and proposed! It was the most amazing moment of my life so far and having all our family to share that special moment was amazing»!

«As I never had a wedding planner, I sourced myself every detail. It made everything exactly as I wanted. The decoration theme that I opted for was a color scheme that complemented the Courti estate. We stayed at the Courti Estate a couple of times before the wedding and loved everything about it. Chryssa and her team went above and beyond to help with everything from the moment we first met and vied it, such a beautiful venue! So, I felt the flowers and colors should be whites and greens and some pastel colors. Similar tones to the Courti Estate. I had roses, hydrangeas, olive branches and a mix of green foliage for my flowers. We had four pillars filled with flowers that we could move around from the ceremony to the reception and the tables where all decorated with bouquets for dinner. Bridesmaids had flowers and so did both mother in laws on their wrists and the grooms button holes. The flowers were done by Rammos florists they were brilliant throughout the whole wedding journey! The scent of the flowers filled the whole Courti Estate and gave it that fairytale essence I had dreamt off. The ceremony was held in the courtyard of the Courti Estate with the back drop being the old chapel that had so much character and beauty. We opted to have the bridesmaids and the groomsmen stand either side of us for the ceremony. It felt so special and magical to have all our friends and family with us in Corfu where I grew up for our wedding day. We felt so lucky and honored that everyone had travelled from αbroad to be there for us and share our special day. My favorite part of the reception was the first dance we started off with a slow version of “Ready for your love” by gorgon city and MNEK. Then it was remixed into the dance version and everyone joined us on the dance floor and had the most amazing dance with all the club lighting that had been set up and sound system sounded amazing! Our wedding favors were oil bottles with extra virgin olive oil from the Courti Estate . That had our wax seal on them. Best oil ever!»

«My favorite moment: Walking out down the aisle with my brother and step dad handing me over to my dad. Then looking up and seeing all our guests and my husband to be for the first time looking at me in my dress. I can still remember he’s face and he said wow! Once he saw me, he looked incredible in he’s Diverso suit, this was the first time either of us had seen each other in our wedding outfits».

«My dress was by Vera Wang; it was the first dress I tried on with my mum and mother-in-law and they both said it was the one! I needed something that was light and airy so as not to be too hot and where the dress was made up of a satin bodice and tulle bottom that I could move around in it easily and enjoy the day. My dress reminded me of the waves of Corfu the ruffles, where all wild and beautiful and it was the perfect match for my personality and I felt like a princess in it»!

«I would recommend mood boards for color schemes and styles making sure everything flows and matches. And taking the time out before the wedding to fly to Corfu on numerous trips meeting all of the contractors and going through finer details meticulously with each and everyone. And on the day timing is crucial for everything! Have a time schedule printed off for everyone so that everyone knows at each point where to be! The more effort you put into the planning the better the wedding day will be with less stress and pure enjoyment and happiness on the day! From the moment I woke up on my weeding day it felt like a fairytale!»

The bride shared with us: “We met at work when we were based in the same office in Africa back in 2013. Rohan proposed in May 2017 during our trip around the US. We were spending a few days in a lovely hotel in Miami and he popped the question during one evening when we were about to go to a dinner.”

“Rohan is Australian and I come from Poland, but we live in Albania. So we were looking for a location that would be beautiful, new to all of us and accessible to guests coming from all over the world. My parents had suggested Corfu as they had visited it in the past and love the Achilleion Palace. Neither Rohan, nor myself had never been to Corfu ourselves, but we liked the photos of the island and the venue and the fact that we could easily get there from Tirana. Given we had never been there it was essential to enlist the help of the wedding planner and this is how we started to work with Aris from Belli Momenti.  The rest, as they say, is history.”

“The color scheme was navy blue (blue reminding of Greece and sea) and silver, with a light pink accents. The idea came from Aris and it turned out absolutely beautiful I must say, in particular in the flower and table arrangements.”

“I got my wedding dress from David’s Bridal store in London. Initially I went there to try on a completely different dress but left with a lovely beaded illusion and crepe sheath ivory dress from Galina Signature collection. It was just perfect for an outdoor late May evening wedding in Corfu!”

“The best moment of our wedding was when we were dancing in a circle with all the guests, led by the professional dancers, to the traditional Greek music. We all had such a fantastic time, which can be easily seen in the photos.”

“We met in Göreme (Cappadocia ,Turkey ).”

“We were in vacation with friends. I’m Italian, Ben is from New Zealand (he grows up in Australia though). At that time he was about to move in Britain for a working experience. So we had the occasion to meet again in the next months.”

“Ben proposal was during a walk in a spot we really love along the ocean, in the sunset light. We leave already together in Australia at that time.”

“After a tour in Milan and a tour in Melbourne looking for the right dress, I finally found it in Sydney in this little atelier run by this Beautiful woman, Tanya Anik . She made this amazing dress for me, it was light and sparkling, absolutely perfect. She finished in 4 months.”

“We want something simple but chic as well, no too fancy, colourful, happy and fun.”

“We choose pink, yellow and red flower, we asked the guest to wear colorful outfits.”

“I think everything was amazing, in different way every part of the waddling was just perfect.”

“The location was outstanding, the atmosphere, the warm light of the sunset during the ceremony , the amazing flowers , the set up, the garden on the sea , the villa the people we love all around us , the music we choose. Actually, the moment that I will never forget is when the ceremony finished and we all start dancing walking away on a Greek song I really love that is pure happiness for me.”

From Belli Momenti: “It may have taken a Netflix series to inspire Michela & Benjamin to wish to travel to Corfu for their nuptials, but their Durrell’s House Corfu Wedding has been one big, epic, success! The two sweethearts arrived from across the pond to Greece last August to exchange their vows of forever love with a Greece destination wedding which took place at the exact filming location of the show for the first time ever on the island’s history.

Their ceremony began at The Durrell’s Estate ensconced in a lush forest among pines, firs, and birches, right above the rock formations where the show’s family is seen spending their summers. Perfect views of sparkling turquoise waters and thick shade welcomed the guests who enjoyed a few refreshments while Michela was getting prepped at the little gardener’s cottage within the estate. Soon as Ben and his gents of honor arrived we whisked them away till they had their portraits, and soon the groom arrived at the picture-perfect aisle and arch adorned with wine red and magenta carnations. As Michela’s bridesmaids began to arrive dressed in blue to match the Ionian teal, anticipation grew and all eyes were set to see her slowly pace towards Ben.

The ceremony included a unity ritual where the couple’s officiant asked everyone to breath deep and take in the beauty of the moment, providing positive energy to the couple, while right after a cinematic kiss sealed the deal and a prairie dance began with everyone forming a large circle and showing this Italian bride that Aussies are tireless as they’re fun! Then we all allowed Mr. & Mrs to spend some alone time together with their photographer and climbed the hillocks through the perfectly preserved age-old forest only to find ourselves right on the set of The Durrells.

Cocktail hour took place in the back garden with everyone enjoying bespoke Corfiot cocktails, Aperol, and amuse-bouche with the majestic views of the crepuscular hues spreading across the horizon over the calm waters. When the couple entered the scene guests lit sparklers to escort their first dance and romance soared. In the meantime, the reception dinner scene was already set on the front facade of the Durrell’s House creating an utterly charming scene festooned with bulbs and the couple’s chosen florals. Now we could talk about this uber-romantic celebration for hours, about the touching speeches, the endless dancing till the wee hours (these people knew how to party!) and the magical ambiance the entire celebration had about its every part, but we will only let the rest of the images carry you away.”
