The wedding of today’s couple has stolen our heart for the very first moment! From the couple, the ceremony to the atmosphere and the magically decorated reception area, everything was simply amazing! Kim and Mitch’s wedding was whimsical with fun mood and fairy garden vibes. Their ceremony took place in the garden of a greenery venue with gorgeous natural surroundings. The couple as well as their family and friends celebrated this special day with an unforgettable meal and party in a wooden barn. The barn was filled with fairy lights, a brilliantly flowered disco ball hanging above the long guest tables, pampas grass, white flowers and greenery. We really loved the sparkly dress of the beautiful bride as well as her lovely headpiece! Prepare to get inspired by every single detail of a mesmerizing wedding!

The bride shared with us: “We met at work. I noticed him first and found a sneaky way of working out who he was, what department he worked for, when he was working – and tried several times to strike up a conversation. It took quite a while, but finally Mitch noticed me, and we started a conversation – at the work kitchen sink! We ended up meeting for a coffee outside of work and started dating”.

Mitch proposed nearly 5 years later in Bali. We had gone on a couple of trips to Bali together, and this time went with a group of friends. Mitch planned for the two of us to go trekking in Ubud as I hadn’t been there before. The morning started off with a light rain, which I was happy about knowing that everything would be freshly green, which it was… however, it also made it muggy, slippery and muddy. Mitch found a great trek and after an hour found a little path off the beaten track. He started to walk up this path claiming it would be a great spot for a photo. Mishearing him I stayed where I was, at the bottom with my phone out expecting him to walk back down so I could take a photo of him. After both waiting for each other at the top and bottom he yelled at me to hurry up and join him. Confused and laughing at myself I started to walk up the path and naturally slipped over, which made me laugh more. I made it to the top and saw Mitch drop to one knee, and the laughter turned straight to shock and tears. The rest of that moment is mostly a blur in my mind. I don’t know what he actually said (and I don’t think he does either) but I heard him asked me to marry him. I said yes and cried some more. We hugged and kissed, and then I berated him for not telling me to wear something nicer. He was sneakily filming me after I had said yes, so I’m thrilled we have this moment to remember, and not the part where I slipped over.”

“Our wedding was whimsical, fun and sparkling! Our main colour palette was whites and greens, with textured pampas for extra fairy garden vibes. We knew we wanted our wedding to be slightly different, in that we didn’t want to be too hung up on the ‘traditional’ elements of the day… Like which side to stand on at the altar, having a wedding cake, doing a first dance, et al.”

“The first step was finding a venue, and my florist recommended the beautiful Merribee House on the south coast of Sydney. It was the only venue we went to view, and by chance there was a cancellation on that same morning, which gave us the opportunity to lock it in. The venue is stunning. Full of gorgeous labyrinth gardens, roses, lavender fields, manicured lawns – we loved it immediately.”

“We filled the barn with fairy lights and hung a brilliantly flowered disco ball in the center, above the long guest tables. On the back on the barn next to the bridal table we had “The Keens” printed in large black cursive text. Our dance floor was outside under the stars, with festoon lighting and another flowered disco ball above the dance floor. Outside the barn on the wrap around verandah was a 2.5m soft pink and white flower wall with mirrored rose gold cursive ‘Mitch & Kim’ writing hung on it. Our version of a photo booth for guests. Mitch wore a moss green suit with a black tie and shoes, and I wore a beaded ivory gown with sewn in reflective detailing that gave off a shimmery effect. Our bridal party wore black which perfectly complimented us, with simple white and green bouquets and buttonholes.”

“After our ceremony in the rose gardens, roaming canapes and drinks kicked off, followed by large share platters for mains. Outside near the dance floor, espresso martinis were served from Merribee’s onsite caravan, aptly named Daisy, alongside a delicious selection of deserts. Our energetic 4-piece band keep our guests dancing, laughing and singing well into the night, until our sparkler sendoff – taking us up into our silo that overlooked the venue. Mitch and I watched the rest of the party continuing below us, waving and laughing at everyone, before the final song came on to signal the end of a momentous day. Mitch couldn’t contain himself and ran back down the silo for one last dance.”

“Probably that I put fairies everywhere was my favorite thing of our wedding. They were on the invitation (not-so-subtlety) hidden in the text, on the bathroom signs, on the placement cards, on the welcome sign. Plus, the fairy lights in the barn. I loved it. Also – I changed out of my heels pretty much after the ceremony and popped on my silver sparkled Keds, and wore those comfortable shoes all night.”

“I spent most of my time googling different photographers online and really liked David’s style. David’s website was one I just kept going back to, knowing that I liked his shots and I felt they was just a little different than other photographers. His work stood out to me, the shots of couples weren’t like standard images, he makes you take notice of the surroundings, the light, all elements of the picture. That’s what I wanted. Our videographers were so much fun on the day, we advised them at first that we are both so awkward and they made us feel completely comfortable. They captured some amazing moments of our day and I cherish that we have all our speeches on film.”

“My advice to a bride-to-be is delegate. I got really stressed planning our wedding. Some people are made for it, and I’m a really organized person (being an EA) but if you don’t like being in the spotlight (which I certainly don’t), the stress and anxiety can really get to you. I made a very smart decision and booked an on the day coordinator (Alison) who helped me immensely. Alison totally changed my life!’’

‘’I also noticed that the things I thought I would really care about at the beginning, were not something I worried about on the day, or could even remember. It’s good to have an idea of what you want, but best not to become so hooked on something that you get upset and stressed if it doesn’t work out. I also thought for sure that I would be so scared and anxious on the day, and I wasn’t. I was happy the whole time. We were both totally exhausted by the end of it so I recommend doing whatever you can to sleep the night before. Something Mitch and I didn’t do. Most importantly, remember that the day is about you and your special person. When it gets overwhelming at any point in the planning, just remember that you are doing this for each other. It’s about what you both want, and don’t get swayed by too many outside opinions. Stick to what you know and love, and your day will be just as magic as you planned. Have fun!”

The wedding we are featuring today was a real fairytale! The two lovebirds exchanged their vows and celebrated their love with the wedding of their dreams… an intimate ceremony full of romance, with dreamy colors of gold and blush, surrounded by flowers. Τhe luxury tableware in white and gold hues combined perfectly with white candles and fresh flower arrangements creating an elegant scenery with romantic touches. The chic style of the bride wearing her lovely mermaid wedding dress, with lace details and a long traditional veil, stole our heart. Enjoy every special moment of this lovely couple through the following photos!

The bride shared with us: “Francesco and I met online. We soon realized we had a lot of mutual friends and Francesco had attended school with my sister. We also lived less than 2 kilometres from each other, and he still thinks we had met before as he remember my eyes.”

“Francesco had planned a helicopter ride to an island where a beautiful draped arbour was set up with champagne, chocolates and lights. We walked over to the arbour and Francesco started shaking. I was caught by surprise and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.”

“I love Francesco’s family values and the way he adores me. He is very driven in life and will do anything to provide for his family. Communicate with each other and know at the end of the day, you both want to be treated with love and respect.”

“I had previously seen an image of a dress I loved on the internet. A year later an advertisement came up for a trunk show and low and behold, my image was one of their dresses. I booked in for the show at the Versace and saw my dream dress immediately. I didn’t want to try the dress on straight away and be the only dress I tried. I decided to put the dress on second and did not try any more on. I loved the lace detail and the traditional feel of the veil.”

“The best moment was the moment Francesco looked at me walking down the aisle and was overwhelmed with emotion.”

“I was originally looking for an Italian style villa in Australia and couldn’t find a venue. I searched luxury homes in Australia and Campbell Point House came up. I knew immediately this was my dream venue with its elegant design features and sheer grandeur.”

“We had a very intimate ceremony with a celebrant to officiate. We were surrounded by a towering hedge and we filled the space with overflowing blooms – it was very romantic. I surprised my husband by learning my vowels in Italian.”

“I envisioned a romantic and whimsical feel. I wanted to use dreamy colours of gold and blush and be surrounded by flowers.”

“We used an abundance of full-bodied blooms including posies, roses, hydrangeas, anthuriums and phalaenopsis orchids.”

“I made a board with wedding pictures of relatives on their special day. I also used my great grandmothers desert forks for our cake.”

“I opted for a three-tier cake covered in ganache and blush fondant. The filling was buttercream and flavors were double barrel white chocolate mud and dark chocolate mud. I had peony flowers created in gold and blush for decoration.”

Bride’s advice: “Surround yourself by a great team and follow your intuition. Don’t stress the little things, try and enjoy every moment.”

The bride shared with us: “We were actually matched together by a mutual friend playing cupid. I had finished working on a site in WA and had moved to Sydney. Two months after I had moved a work college contacted me to let me know he had just met the male version of me! He sent me his Instagram details and told me to contact him, which I refused to do. This friend was also insisting Chris get in contact with me. Eventually we became social media friends, silently following each other on Instagram, with an occasional heart here or there for each other’s photographs. One day I shared quite a personal post about my past struggles, and things I have overcome in life to be where I am today. Chris read it and his heart said “I need to meet this girl!” He sent me such a lovely message the day he read the post, that melted my heart and we began to message daily. Over the course of a month we began to talk on the phone and eventually it became daily Facetime calls. My Dad worked on the same site as Chris and met him before I did; I still remember the day he phoned to give me his stamp of approval. We have been inseparable since the day we finally met in person.”

“The proposal was at sunrise at Sealy Lookout in Coffs Harbour on Good Friday. It was followed by a weekend of romantic activities which included staying at the gorgeous Establishment Hotel in Sydney and watching Tash Sultana live. We had three whole days to ourselves in our little bubble of love before we announced the proposal to anyone.”

“What I love most about Chris is unwavering faith that things will be okay, no matter the situation. He is steadfast, always. Life has thrown us some tricky curveballs, but he always has this big smile and this amazing confidence as he says “It’s all good!””

“Finding my Anna Campbell dress is actually a story of fate! I had created a ‘Wedding Dress Inspo’ album on Pinterest and I had pinned a photograph of the Anna Campbell dress design ‘Sydney Dress’ but at that time I didn’t know who the designer was and hadn’t looked into it further. A few months later my Aunty and I decided to meet in Melbourne for my birthday, I thought it would be the perfect time to look at wedding dresses. So, I went straight to Google and typed in ‘Melbourne Wedding Dress’ as I scrolled through judging bridal boutiques by their names, there was a link for Anna Campbell, the tagline read ‘bohemian bridal’, just what I was looking for to suit our Wedstival themed day. Scrolling through the design gallery I found the dress from my Pinterest album! The ‘Sydney Dress’ I booked my appointment right then and there for the Armadale boutique.”

“The most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship is to consciously choose to love and respect your partner daily, don’t let how you feel dictate how you treat each other. Also, I highly recommend learning your partners love language.”

“For decoration, we had a lovely antique dressing table setup with jars of glitter and face paint for guests to decorate themselves with during the reception.”

“It was actually later in the evening, I stepped back and I saw all the glittery faces around me, every single one of our guests was smothered in glitter and I just smiled. It warmed my heart to see everyone had embraced our vision, however different and weird it was, everyone joined in and for two days they were free spirits with us.”

“Coachella was our initial inspiration. We wanted the two days to feel like festival, a celebration. To be honest we didn’t want anything to feel like a Wedding, initially we both weren’t even interested in having a cake. It had to be outdoors and natural.”

“Enjoy the wedding planning process, savor it. This is a time that really reveals you and your partners ability to work together. I was working on a remote mine site for 10 months of our planning period while Chris was travelling working/surfing in Chile and we still planned our perfect wedding.”

The bride shared with us: “It was a Friday night and I was in a hurry to finish up my work week and get to our property. Simon had kindly offered to pick up some vegetables from the shops, to my unbeknownst he had placed signs up in our chestnut orchard and when I arrived home suggested we go for a walk together and a glass of wine to relax after a busy week. As we approached the front of property in front of the signs, he got down on one knee and proposed. I can happily say I said yes through all the tears.”

“We have been together for around 4 and a half years. We fell in love on the ski slopes at Mt Buller, VIC and haven’t looked back since. We have endured more than most in our time together including a long-distance relationship, starting a new business from scratch (Yarra Linen), purchasing a vacant property and owner building a house together. In amongst all that we got engaged and planned our wedding.”

“My favorite detail from the day was my veil. It was and is so special to me. A friend and work colleague helped me to select the lace and fabric before she spent hours sowing it all together with invisible thread. The result was amazing and it worked out better than I could have ever imagined. It gave me the train my dress lacked and made me feel even more like a princess on my big day.”

“We absolutely loved the elegant decoration of the wedding venue which was decorated with romantic silver candlesticks and impressive flower arrangements in white, ivory and green hues! The bride was amazing in her mermaid wedding dress with lace details and her long veil. As for her bridal bouquet, it was chic and elegant with fresh white and ivory roses, lunaria, hydrangea, lisianthus combined with olive twigs. “I fell in love with my dress on my second day of dress shopping. It was a last-minute decision to go dress shopping with my Maid of Honor Vanessa. Fairytales were having a sale and we both thought it couldn’t hurt to go and have a look. My previous attempt to find a dress had left me deflated that I would never find something in my budget and style. I initially saw the lace at first and was intrigued, it wasn’t your standard wedding gown lace and I liked that. It wasn’t on the rack but hidden behind another gown. After collecting several other dresses to try I asked the assistant if she could grab the dress I had seen earlier. I hadn’t seen anything more of the dress at this stage until I was trying in on and I fell in love. It fitted me like a glove and was everything I wanted in a dress.”

“We were attending a tourism network Yarra Valley night at Projekt 3488 and as we both walked in the doors, we turned to each other and said this is the one! This is our wedding venue. By this stage we had looked into over 15 venues and none had felt right. The gardens took our breath away and the venue was restored in an exquisite way that allowed the building to shine in all its charm. It suited us and it suited what we wanted in a venue that would take our guests breath away.”

“The DIY project we choose to undertake for our wedding was at POD jewellery forging and forming ring-making course in Kyneton. We spent the day with Bec from POD Jewellery in her little studio. We got to make and design our wedding bands from a strand of white gold and silver. Bec’s keen eye and guidance helped us to create wedding bands that will last a life time. We will also be able to enjoy the memories of making them together. I then had diamonds set into my band to give it extra sparkle, all with the help of Bec from POD Jewellery.”

“The moment I stepped out from behind the doors and saw Simon’s face and all the people gathered there to witness our special moment with my dad by my side. Simon had tears in his eyes and my heart melted. It was at that moment it became real as to what we were doing. Before this moment it didn’t feel real.“

“If I can give any advice about planning a wedding it would be don’t settle, if you find a venue you love and a team of amazing people your day will go to plan. Don’t sweat the small stuff at the end of the day it will be amazing as long as those close are gathered with you to celebrate. Make sure those standing beside you on your day are the ones you truly hold close. For me my bride tribe was everything. They made the whole thing fabulous and couldn’t think of anyone else I wanted standing by my side. At the end of the day it’s about you and your fiancé, stay true to what you want.”

Emily and Pierre’s wedding could not have been any more gorgeous (Emily was one of the bachelorettes from ‘The Bachelor’ show in Australia)! These two lovebirds chose to have a wedding full of glamour, shine and soft color tones. We fell in love with the bride’s style which was incredibly chic, delicate and feminine. Their wedding held at The George Ballroom, a stunning reception venue with a royal architecture and luxurious atmosphere. They enhanced this elegant venue with some bouquets of fresh flowers, olive leaves and gold, shiny details and we must admit that the result was simply amazing! Go ahead and get lost in these daydream inspiring images!

The bride shared with us: “Pierre and I first met at Pontoon, a trendy bar on St Kilda beach (the old Riva). I went there with my friend Anna (one of my bridesmaids), and as soon as we walked in, she said, “Oh there’s my friend Pierre at the bar!”. Turns out she used to be very good friends with a girl that dated Pierre for 2 years, about 9 years ago.”

“Pierre’s birthday is the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day, and I had arranged to take him out for dinner at The George on Collins. He suggested we get a nice photo out the front before we go in. So, we asked a nice passerby if they could please take a photo for us. He then turned to me and proposed. The lady taking our photo, switched it to video mode, so we have both photos and videos of the gorgeous moment.”

“I suppose the only thing considered unusual was that our wedding was very bitter sweet for us. My beautiful older brother had taken his own life only 3 weeks prior to our wedding, so it was incredibly difficult, and when it first happened, I couldn’t even comprehend the thought of a wedding. But I like to think he was there, shining down on us. It was also the only day that week of really beautiful weather (for the middle of August!), and I like to think that was Michael’s doing.”

“My gown was designed and made by Tanya Didenko Bridal Couture. I have dealt with Tanya for 3 years now. She has made me some stunning dresses to wear to various events over the past few years, so it was a no brainer that I would go to her for my wedding dress. I never tried on any wedding dress at all. I went to her with photos of different designs that I liked and took inspiration from each of them. She knows me quite well now, knows my body shape and knows my style, so it all worked really well. The groomsmen’s suits were made by Remy, who is actually Pierre’s youngest brother. He owns a bespoke tailoring business, situated in Sydney. The bridesmaids’ dresses were all designed by Love Honor. I sent them through a number of inspo shots, and they made them exactly as we had discussed, and they fit the girls perfectly.”

“Our ceremony was on the balcony of the Melbourne Town Hall. I loved the columns, and I found it in keeping with the style of The George Ballroom. I really wanted everything to flow nicely. Our reception was at The George Ballroom in St Kilda, with 100 guests. The George is simply amazing. It is by far the most beautiful venue I think I have seen in Melbourne. The way they have restored it is so divine, it was the perfect setting for our wedding day…”

“I was always very clear about what I wanted for our wedding, and Pierre likes my taste, so he trusted me in choosing everything. As we only got engaged in February, and our wedding was August, we decided on things very quickly. The style I went with, was glamorous and a sort of antique feel. I tried to stick with a glamorous, old world sort of theme. I was adamant about there being no black, and there wasn’t any at all. Everything was white, cream, soft pinks and rich, deep pinks. The florist really outdid herself! The cutlery, the napkins, everything just worked exactly the way I had hoped it would.”

“The highlight of the day was definitely when we first saw each other down the aisle, and walking down the aisle with my dear old dad. It was a beautiful moment, and one I will never forget.”

The George Ballroom where our reception was, is simply stunning, so not much needed to be done to the room. We had simple garlands down the centre of the long tables, and arrangements around the welcome sign, seating chart, bar and wedding cake. I did find all of the planning incredibly stressful at times, as I was doing everything by myself. It is like a full-time job! So much coordinating, and of course every bride wants it to all go perfectly, so the stress of that all adds up.”

“I told the lovely Nat from Foxy Evergreen, that I didn’t want standard flowers. I can’t stand your average old rose. I was quite specific about that. The one flower I told her I absolutely wanted, was phalaenopsis orchids in a magenta sort of colour. And no Australian natives! All whites, soft pinks, deep pinks and lots of greenery. I also told her I didn’t like a posy of flowers. I like the cascading sort of look. We couldn’t have been happier with her work.”

“Ramy from Ateia was amazing. He was so easy to deal with, from start to end. I think may words to him when we first met were, no 90’s style glamour shots please! I’ve seen so many bridal shots that seem to go for this look, and that is definitely not our style. I wanted it romantic, glamorous and fashionable, without looking dated.”

“We chose a cake from Nikos Cakes. We went for 2 different layers, one vanilla citrus and one vanilla berry. We opted against chocolate cakes, as we had some chocolate and coffee dessert canapés. We chose the 3-tier cake, mostly because Nikos suggested that because both Pierre and I are quite tall. I wasn’t sure what difference it made, but it did look great! We had a white rendered cake, with gold foil on the bottom and top tier.”

“We chose Main Entertainment for all of our music. We found Isaac via a Google search, and he was outstanding. He has a beautiful voice and sung live acoustics for our ceremony and during different parts of our reception. He then turned into a DJ later on in the night. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Not only is he incredibly talented, he is also a fantastic guy and great to deal with.”

Advice to a bride-to-be: “My best advice is to make sure you know what you want, before you go talking to suppliers. Scour the net, Pinterest etc, for inspiration. If you don’t know exactly what you are after, then I feel this is where confusion can start to creep in, and you become unsure if you’ve chosen the right thing or not. You need to be clear and concise, so that you don’t feel disappointed on your big day. Think about yours and your partner’s taste and try your best to emulate that on your wedding day.”

The wedding of these two lovebirds is the definition of class and elegance! Belinda and Michael created a gorgeous wedding decorated with fresh flower designs, gold details and many candles. After the beautiful ceremony, the couple and their beloved ones enjoyed a delicious meal in Leonda By The Yarra, a romantic venue with atmospheric lighting. We fell in love with the impressive bridal creation by Craig Braybrook Couture, that made the bride look even prettier! See every single moment of this wedding on the following images by Blumenthal Photography!

The bride shared with us: “My husband and I met at a high school party, 12 years ago. He proposed in Paris. He surprised me on our 8-year anniversary and arranged a horse and carriage around Paris.”

“After a bit of research and trying on dresses, I came across Craig Braybrook Couture and fell in love with his work.”

“The style of our wedding was classic with lots of white flowers, greenery and candles. I enjoyed the entire wedding day, from start to finish, but one of the moments I enjoyed most was saying I do and being able to call Michael my husband for the first time at the church. I wouldn’t change anything from our wedding day, I loved the day from start to end.”

“My advice to a bride is to enjoy every moment as the day goes way too quick.”

The cute couple of today’s wedding met on an airplane on the way to Thailand, travelled together and became friends. This friendship after many years, led to the most beautiful love story. Asleigh and Adam created a vibrant wedding full of color, flowers and fun! They shared with their guests moments of joy, emotion and a lot of laughs. The decoration of the reception was amazing with the chic details, the fresh flowers and the hanging fairy lights that created the perfect, romantic atmosphere. Wish we were there!

“We met on an airplane on the way to Thailand. I was on a girl’s trip and he was on a boy’s trip. We ended up staying at the same hotel on the first night and then travelled the entire 3 weeks with their group and became great friends for many years. We were friends first and only started seeing each other many years afterwards. I thought he was pretty annoying when we first met and we didn’t really ‘click’ at first”, the bride shared with us.

“He proposed in Noosa at our favorite restaurant, he had hidden the ring in his pants for a huge walk beforehand so that I wouldn’t suspect anything in his pocket.”

“My most important advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship is keep laughing, don’t let things get too serious. Communication is so important, and listening to the other person and respecting their point of view, even when you don’t agree, is also pretty pivotal.”

“I wanted my wedding gown to be quite fitted, but also have a really long train with embellishments without being too traditional. My brief was ‘no lace’ so instead we used a range of appliques and different mesh materials to get a more modern take on a traditional dress style.”

“For the decoration we wanted lots of color, lots of fun, lots of greenery. No white and green styling in sight. Everything had to be vibrant and colorful.”

“A lot of the styling was DIY, we were very hands on! From the beginning, I came up with all the concepts and then my mum and I brought them all to life over the next few months. My mum was amazing, she is really talented and so she handwrote all the place cards and table numbers, she hand-painted 80 sets of oyster shells as makeshift salt-and-pepper shakers and trawled the internet for weeks just to find the right vases for our table settings.”

“We also got a bit DIY with the menu and asked the venue to create one canape that was my favorite food (fish tacos) and another that was Adam’s (hot chippies). We then made little toothpicks that either said ‘from the bride’ or ‘from the groom’ on them. Also my aunt, uncle and cousin were incredible. My uncle runs a family nursery so he arranged the shipment of about 16 Oak Trees into the venue. The ceilings were really high and the room was massive so we knew we needed a bit of height in there. We wrapped them all with fairy lights and the end result was just incredible. Also, because I had created most of the styling myself, I couldn’t be there on the day to set up so my talented cousin managed the entire bump in and bump out including styling a huge 2.4m tall flower wall which formed a backdrop for our DIY photo booth.”

“My favorite moment from the day was our first dance, definitely! We love to have fun and we are always the last ones on the dancefloor together so that was a moment that truly represented us. We danced to Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and the energy was just so electric and upbeat – our guests literally jumped into the dancefloor halfway through to join us.”

“My advice to future brides is to not get too caught up in the styling of it all. People can go way, way overboard with it all but at the end of the day if you can nail all the big ticket items like the ceremony, the speeches, food and the music, no-one is going to remember what color the tablecloths were, or whether there was Aesop soap and heaps of candles in the bathrooms or not. It’s really easy to get so caught up in the detail, but on the day, none of it even matters.”

From the bride: “Nathan and I have actually known each other since our early twenties, however didn’t really get together until a few years later. We both worked for the same company out of university and we’d always chat (even though I remember him being so nervous around me) however at the time I was in a long-term relationship with a guy from high school, who I was certain that I’d marry. When that didn’t pan out and we broke up, Nathan and I spent more time together and started getting a lot closer. It’s still crazy to think that Nathan has been in my life for so long and I could have easily missed out on something so special. I was so devastated when I broke up with my previous partner as we’d been together since we were 15 years old, but there really is a silver lining to every cloud! I couldn’t imagine my life without Nathan now…”

“Being the hopeless romantic that he is, I don’t think Nathan could help himself with going all out on the proposal. Nathan said that he had a work conference at Melbourne’s Crown Towers (If you know Crown Towers, you’d know that it’s the most glamorous building in the city!) So he recommended that we book a hotel room and go stay over for the night. I remember we were sitting in the hotel room about to get ready for dinner when he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. As it turns out, there was of course no conference and we woke up the next day to a gorgeous brunch on the waters of Southbank and later just dawdled around the city in pure bliss”

“Every bridal gown I’ve ever seen at a wedding that had made my jaw drop was a Jason Grech design, so I knew that as soon it was my turn, I’d know exactly which designer to turn to! All of his pieces are so elegant and classic, and when I saw my gown – I knew it was the one. I couldn’t believe how well it fit me even before alterations, and because it was silk, it was so comfortable to wear all day. It also had gorgeous embellished detailing down the sides which matched with a stunning Capulet that could be removed. So comfortable and functional!”

“Nathan comes from a traditional Greek family, so it was a given that we incorporate his family’s traditions into the ceremony. However, I still wanted to inject some modernity and a bit more glamour into the event. This is largely why we chose Crown as our venue space (amidst the fact that our proposal took place there.) The views from our reception venue were absolutely stunning and we loved the fact that it overlooked the skyline of the city. When choosing my bridesmaids dresses, my own dress and the ceremony décor – I wanted to go for a timeless glamour feel to contrast against the modernity of our reception décor and to still tie in with the traditional Greek elements of the day”
