Today we’re sharing a unique wedding that you will love! In a magical landscape with a bohemian style, today’s wedding is overflowing with beauty and pure joy! The gorgeous bride looked beautiful in her soft, loose wedding dress and the lovely flower wreath on her hair with peach, red, yellow and orange shades. Perfect look for a boho wedding like this, which is representing her character and her free spirit. Both the ceremony and reception took place in a beautiful exterior area with lots of greenery, decorated with tree trunks, hanging, colorful fabrics and transparent flower vases. A magical wedding, inspired by nature!
“The day I felt like a million dollars! I like to wear jeans, baggy jumpers, Converse trainers. Putting my contact lenses in always feels weird so I stick to my glasses. Wearing make-up? I’m still learning at 29 how to put make-up on properly so having make-up put on by a professional, having my hair tamed by a pro, putting my contacts in and wearing a dress and heels, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so feminine and, with my amazing flower crown, I felt so confident, so happy and didn’t care for the one time in my life that there would be loads of eyes on Dish and I. I didn’t have to mix in the crowd looking on at someone else. Even Dish, the baseball cap, jeans and Vans kind of guy, normally carrying a skateboard or a back-pack, wow did he look handsome in a suit!”, the bride shared with us.
“The week leading up to the wedding was amazing! Both our families were all together in a holiday house in the Alentejo. It was the first time Chris’ family had been united in years, having flown in from Australia, Ethiopia and Iran. We spent an awesome few days in the Alentejo and then the boys went to Barcelona for the bucks weekend and the girls to Lisbon and Sintra from my hens. We all had 2 days to recover before the wedding, which was mid-week.”
“The bridal party all stayed in one of the most beautiful spots in northern Portugal, Quinta da Boa Viagem. A place of history, a home away from home and the most incredible, welcoming and down to earth hosts. A place we will always go back to when we are in Portugal and one that is part of the Dishtal Wedstival memory.”
“The night before the wedding around 60 of our closest friends who had flown in from all round the world, congregated for a feast in a local restaurant in Afife. That was the most surreal experience I have ever felt and incredible at the same time. Knowing that you had all these amazing friends out there who had flown from as far as Australia, United Kingdom, Sweden, Hong Kong, Canada, New York city… all of those who had made such an incredible effort to get on a plane and in a car to be there to celebrate your day with you. That was a feeling that neither of us will ever forget especially knowing that you may never get all those people in the same room together again.”
“The actual wedding day was something to remember; the groomsmen having an early morning swim in the local rock pools, Pedro’s amazing kombi wedding van, the dream venue, Pimm’s brought in from the UK and served in jam jars, an amazing selection of starters, the plunged octopus (that was the talk of the wedding feast), the BBQ main meal we wanted with the spit roast pig that so many venues did not want to serve, the food coma, a delicious and beautiful dulce de leche wedding cake and cupcakes, again the food coma, the cocktail bar serving 4 of our favorite cocktails and the abundance of Estrella Galicia throughout the day, some still suffering from a food coma, a ceilidh as our opening dance followed by friends DJ’ing and the bridesmaids and Veena doing their cover version of Dancing Queen by Abba but with the lyrics of Living the Dishtal Dream. We honestly couldn’t of dreamt of a day that summed us up anymore. We laughed, ate, drank and had an amazing day with amazing souls and worked with the most incredible and talented people ever who without them the day would not have been what it was.”
“Our advice to any brides and grooms to be, don’t settle on anything just because you feel like you have to. Take the time in finding the venue that is right for you. The suppliers that you are happy and feel confident that you can work with and will create the day that you envisage. Work with them as a team. I would be lying if I told you that you won’t stress in organizing a wedding. You do. It is normal. Remember, this day will only happen once so make it one that you will remember for all the right reasons. It will be 100% worth it. Don’t stress on the weather. Have a wet weather alternative. You can’t control what the weather will be like on the day. My biggest advice given by many friends which Dish and I highly recommend is to take 10 minutes out of your day to sit with your partner and take the day all in. It goes so fast!”
