The Gatsby themed wedding of today’s couple is the definition of elegance! With shiny details and crystal touches such as chandeliers, candlesticks and mirrors, the gorgeous venue of Island Art & Taste became even more impressive. The all-white tables were adorned with small bouquets with fresh flowers in white and purple hues that added the essential pop of color to the scene. The handsome couple was inspired by 20’s, Jazz and Great Gatsby theme, so they organized a party full of glamour, feathers, Gatsby dances and dazzling details. The bride shared with us: “We met through a common friend in a social event more than 3 years ago. However, our paths didn’t cross again until we met at an Oil & Gas industry related function in Abu Dhabi 2 years later.”
“My wedding dress was Allure Bridals. I wanted my dress to reflect my character, so I added my own touches to the dress’s design. The dress and the vail were made of an Ivory French lace and chiffon fabric with my design sweetheart and off-shoulder bodice. It was a princess cut dress with 3 metre train long and a 5 metre long Spanish style vail which of both fully embroidered with pearls and Swarovski crystals.”
“The ceremony took place in Island Art & Taste (Residence) in Athens, Greece. Our wedding was inspired by 20s, Jazz & Great Gatsby theme. The colors of our wedding were white, silver and purple.”
“We’ve always wanted a destination wedding. Since we both live in Dubai, and since we both love beaches, we decided to celebrate our wedding in a beach venue overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. We looked into a few possible places but instantaneously fell in love with Greece when we visited a few months prior. The nature, the sea, food, its peoples’ friendly attitude and most importantly the Greek culture. We were both captivated when we walked into the Island Art & Taste. Having our wedding there was the best decision ever.”
“For our wedding we found inspiration through the movie “The Great Gatsby” (for the music, the dance, the feathers and the crystals) and through Pinterest for table decorations. I always loved chandelier and candles. Mirrors are so sexy and chic in weddings. Combing the two where the reflection of both the candles and chandeliers could be seen in the mirrors inspires a romantic feeling.”
“The best moment of our wedding was when we held hands and walked down the aisle.”
“My advice to a bride that is planning her wedding now is to just be herself and plan a wedding that reflects her character.”
