I am officially obsessed with this Ourania Kay wedding dress and all the stylish and as green as possible details from this eco-friendly wedding! A lovely affair on a breathtaking location just on the outskirts of Athens, Greece. Enjoy with all your heart every single jaw-dropping image captured by George Pahountis!
“Designer Ourania Kay knew immediately what my style was and without much direction from me, she created the wedding dress I wanted.”
For their eco-friendly wedding, Eleni and Spyros applied eco-conscious concepts when choosing their wedding invitations. The stylish and earth friendly wedding invites were made out of natural materials and instead of using ink the text was engraved on this unique wedding invitation!
The green-conscious wedding favors were adorable! “We decided to have plantable wedding favors, small succulent plants that our wedding guests can take home and replant after the wedding!”
“We wanted to get married at the Laas Estate in Athens because the setting is incredibly romantic, picturesque… it has a true family feeling and such amazing positive energy! The secret to the wedding venue’s success I truly believe is the lovable owner and manager Mrs Stevi… an incredible person!“
“We met while were at sea on a cruise to Palma de Mallorca… I had a high fever… the rest of our wedding proposal story is quite funny. We celebrated with warm tea!”
When planning their green wedding, the couple made many conscious and social responsible choices. As Eleni mentioned: “We wanted and planned an eco-friendly wedding. We chose to have the ceremony and the reception at the same location, reducing gas and pollution since our guests did not have to travel to another location. Also our wedding took place during the early hours of the day and the amount of electricity that was used was reduced.”
The loving couple used a globe as an alternative to a guest book that was filled with heartfelt wishes and kind words from their friends and family. As Eleni shared with us: “The alternative guest book idea now beautifully decorates our home! The wedding photos of our grandparents was our idea on how to connect the past with the future! Also my grandmother had made for us the lovely tablecloth on our wedding table!”
“In collaboration with our wedding caterers we donated all the leftover food from the reception to a local charity“.
“L4W helped during my planning period as it encouraged me to plan our wedding according to what we wanted and not to what was custom to do!”
“Our entire day was special. It was a huge celebration with the people that are close to our hearts. Their love put smiles on our faces.”
“By choosing the right wedding professionals to collaborate with on our wedding day, helped us not to stress even up until the last minute“.
After planning her chic eco-friendly wedding, Eleni’s advice to other brides is: “Start your research very early. Some errands are bound to arise unexpectedly close to your wedding day. Have a clear conception of the wedding style that you want… you will hear many opinions that might sidetrack you. Follow this and you will end up being calm and you will definitely be able to enjoy your wedding day.“
