The bride shared with us: “We met through a common friend in Crete where we both come from. We started to date after three months of being friends. One morning in the house we lived in, I woke up and found an engagement ring by the bathroom sink with a note that said: “will you marry me?” After a couple days I answered back and of course I said yes!”
“Our wedding took place amongst the beautiful green gardens of The Residence wedding venue. We got married in the heart of the summer and at the white chapel of St. Fanourios. The venue had a true rustic feeling, that brought us closer to nature and the countryside, offering us a feeling of comfort and hospitality. We were surrounded by tall trees and various flowers… it just gave you the feeling of a special day in an enchanting setting. The wedding venue was beautiful and we really loved having our wedding ceremony as well as the reception party, since it really differs from the classic wedding venues. Composing a scenery with natural harmony, excellent aesthetics, “The Residence” made our guests feel as though they were invited to family gathering in a a garden that was familiar to them. We must mention that the assistance to us from the manager Mr. Spanopoulos was priceless and crucial during all the preparation stages…”
“The definition and the beauty of tradition, could not be absent from such a loving and favorite wedding detail such as the bridal bouquet. We really wanted to honor our origin and since the groom comes from the island of Kythira, we chose the beautiful flowers of Semprevivas to exclusively detail our wedding caremony. This specific choice of flower was perfectly combined with the yellow decoration details. This flower that expresses us the most as a couple, since it is a symbol of eternal love. This little flower took it’s name from the Italian phrase «Sempre Viva» which translates to «eternal life». The Venetians gave this name to this little flower, just because it retains this golden-yellow color for many many years. Therefore our choice for a Semprevivas bridal bouquet, expressed our feelings for that day and showcased our excitement for a new start, full of enlightened and sunny days..”, the bride shared with us.
“For ideas and inspiration for our wedding, we based our choices in our personal style and taste. Of course we had influences from people close to us, the internet and of course from our favorite team of wedding planners: Santorini Wedding Stories. The wedding planners were the guides for our final choices, since not only do they have many years of experience in the field, but they also gained our trust. The contribution of their team was very important. Our collaboration with people devoted to their work and st the same time focused on our personal wishes, really gave a special and unique outcome!”
“We really can’t single out a special moment, since everything was absolute and perfectly combined together in harmony. Every moment was special, just like we had pictured it…”
“For the decoration details of the rustic yellow wedding the bride told us: “The country-side feeling of the environment and the surrounding natural elements created a a special rustic and natural feeling. The charming white cottage with red roof tiles, the elegant chapel with the wooden door, as well as the cobblestone walkway that curved a path through the green pastures, were the actual details that led us with no doubt towards selecting the venue. Rough wooden surfaces in combination with metallic objects, characterized the style of the wedding decoration, giving a traditional character, as well as the feeling of hand-made. Wheat, hay stacks, burlap and candles, composed a bright scene, while chamomile and wild flowers, decorated naturally the pinewood forest area. Also neutral colors were all over the place. Shades of the sand color, dark brown, green as well as yellow, where the ideal color combinations”.
The bride’s advice: “Be patient and keep calm. Very important in every step of the way for both the bride and the groom. It is important for the couple to not forget that they both need to contribute to their wedding and also it should have elements from both of them!”
