«Christian and I crossed paths in January 2015 in Lisbon, where we initially connected on Tinder. Surprisingly, instead of diving into a romantic relationship, we became close friends for the first 5-6 months. During this time, Christian resided in a spacious shared apartment with an amazing group of international individuals, fostering an environment brimming with laughter and fond memories. I distinctly recall our shared dinners, with Christian constantly showcasing his culinary skills, creating a sense of home for all of us who lacked family nearby. As our friendship deepened over time, transitioning into something more felt natural. Our connection always remained grounded in a foundation of mutual understanding and respect. Christian, to me, became synonymous with family.»

«Fast forward to nearly six years of dating, including two years enduring the challenges of a long-distance relationship. In June 2021, Christian planned an incredibly thoughtful and surprising proposal that took place at one of my favorite spots in Lisbon, the Gulbenkian garden. With the help of our close friends who work in commercial film and photography, together they orchestrated a fake photoshoot for a “Tourism Portugal” campaign. We were “asked” to pose as models for the shoot. Little did I know, Christian had a different plan in mind. As we went through the motions of the photoshoot, Christian disappeared for a moment. When he returned, he got down on one knee and proposed, catching me completely off guard. It was a beautiful and emotional moment, surrounded by the greenery of the garden and the support of our friends. It was a perfect representation of our journey together and the love we share. », the brides shared with us.

We drew a lot of inspiration from our stunning venue and the breathtaking natural surroundings of Casa da Volta. After extensive research, I discovered an incredible local florist duo whose floral arrangements resembled works of art from nature itself. «Our official ceremony remained intimately small, with only 14 guests in total—our immediate family and a select few friends serving as witnesses. Drawing from my extensive background in theatre and performing arts, I really wanted to create an intimate setting that stripped away the performative elements often associated with traditional weddings. »

«It’s quite challenging to pinpoint our absolute favorite moment, but if pressed to choose, I’d say it was the dinner we shared at the round table surrounded by our friends and family. Throughout the day, several perfect moments stood out to us. We felt incredibly fortunate that all our guests were able to stay directly at the venue, which created a wonderfully warm atmosphere for the entire day. Everyone chipped in to create a delightful brunch spread for everyone to enjoy while we prepared for the festivities. Christian’s mother kindly assisted me in steaming my dress, and, of course, my mother was there every step of the way as I got ready. The ceremony itself was deeply meaningful, and afterward, we all gathered for a celebratory dinner filled with conversation and laughter and our delicious cake! The entire day felt like a cozy home gathering, where every moment was filled with warmth and laughter, making it truly special. »

Deep down, we always knew the kind of celebration we wanted, but it was easy to get sidetracked by internet and Instagram trends. Our goal was to create a day that celebrated our love, with some traditional elements but mainly focused on bringing our families together. Christian and I worked closely, using spreadsheets, and having regular meetings to stay aligned.

So, I would say trust your gut and try not to get sidetracked with others’ expectations. Open communication with your partner, planning the event as a couple, a mix of what you both would like the day to represent. »

«My dress was by Rembo Styling, an atelier from Portugal. It took quite some time and research to find the right one. I was looking for something simple, without too much embellishment. As a former ballet dancer, I’ve worn beautiful costumes, and many wedding dresses I saw reminded me of that style. While it could work for some weddings, it wasn’t what I wanted. In the end, I chose a simple square neck dress with a small train that flowed nicely. It came with a matching square belt. The shop where I purchased it, Vesidus in Lisbon, did an excellent job with the order, tailoring, and pickup. »

To find their assigned table, guests had to embark on a literary adventure, seeking out the author of the title who had written the title displayed on the book cover where their name was inscribed. »

While every moment of our wedding was infused with enchantment, the one that encapsulates the essence of our day was when a spontaneous dance party erupted during dinner. Our friend’s impromptu request for a lively tune prompted our guests to abandon their plates mid-meal and join us on the dance floor. The air was filled with the joy of shared laughter and movement, creating a moment of pure, unadulterated bliss.

From the Photographer: «There is a Neapolitan word, “ammoìna”, which can be translated in “noise, confusion, dizziness». It comes from the Spanish word “amohinar”. When during dinner I confessed to Filippo and Marta that I would not have expected such involvement from their guests, the groom replied smiling “I love to surround myself with people who make a lot of noise”, because Marta and I are like that too. Their wedding has been the perfect conjunction between Spain and Italy, full of dances and smiles. Their ceremony, immersed in the greenery of Astapiana Villa Giusso, is a true tribute to the love of two people who know how to be moved and have fun without filters. »

«We met in college back on the east coast, where I’m from. Soon after, I moved out to California, where he is from! We have lived in San Francisco since then, almost 10 years now. Tyler proposed in the iconic Golden Gate Park in the city after a long bike ride. We were in athletic clothes, slightly sweaty, and it was super low-key just the way we wanted it. », the bride shared with us.

The flowers I chose for the bouquet were all about earth tones with a subtle pop of color, and our flower vendor nailed it. I wanted the wedding to feel slightly bohemian, and mostly romantic.

«The venue was a barn, so I wanted to try to tone down the rustic vibe any way we could. The way the dinner tables were set up really drew the eye out the barn doors to the view of the vineyard, this was my favorite part. Other details I loved including were handwritten notes to each of our guests at their place setting with a custom wax seal. I also had lots of fun making the place “cards,” which were flat, rounded pieces of clay with the guests’ names stamped into it. We did both of these things so that guests felt thought about and loved. »

«My wedding dress was from BHLDN at Anthropologie. I loved it because it gave off a casual, fun, romantic vibe. I’m not a girl who is trying to wear super fancy dress and show off diamonds and glitter! I love the low back and the beautiful train. From the front the dress was beautiful, but when I turned around, it was like a fun little surprise! »

My favorite moment was sitting at the sweetheart table with my husband, taking a moment just the two of us to take it all in and look down the beautiful long tables of our guests. It was amazing having everyone we love there. The beautiful setting was a bonus.

From the Photographer: «Lexie and Tyler were married on a warm summer day at the The Barn at Green Valley in Fairfield, California. The Barn’s large open space and landscaped grounds provided the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding in Northern California. To make sure the vibe didn’t feel too rustic, their planners Riley Loves Lulu chose lots of modern touches to elevate the decor (included glass vases that Lexie hand wrote table numbers on). The day started with the couple and their wedding parties getting ready at River Terrace Inn in Napa before we all headed over to the Barn. Lexie had a sweet first look with her father before heading over to the ceremony space for a first look with Tyler. Their beloved doodle pup Louie also made an appearance to be a part of their group portraits. Lexie’s brother-in-law officiated the ceremony, adding a personal touch to the celebration. After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails and appetizers in the covered patio before the Barn was open for dinner. The two long kings’ tables felt grand and opulent, especially with Lexie and Tyler’s head table framed by the stunning wine country landscape outside the doors. We ducked outside after the touching toasts for some sunset portraits around the property before heading back inside for dancing and dessert. The party continued into the night as the sun dipped below the hills surrounding the vineyard valley. »

We also wanted to create a festive and intimate atmosphere by playing with candles and lights. For my bouquet, I wanted white peonies. Our wedding was a celebration of our love with all our friends and family from all over the world. We chose to do family style dining which meant keeping the tables clear for all the food that was served. Therefore, we had the flowers suspended above the table. It was perfect. »

«We met on St. Patrick’s day 7 years ago, he was with one of my friends that I graduated high school with. He then invited me to a St. Patrick’s day party that weekend, and they rest is history. He proposed to me at the top of Governor Dick’s observation tower while we were on a hike during the changing of autumn leaves. », bride shared with us.

We would video chat and Xenia would get some input from me and then came back with ideas that we talked about in her presentation. I loved everything about the table setting, it looked so gorgeous! The way the decor was placed around the Ios Club made it look so welcoming and stylish. Even though it was a popular color scheme for weddings, I feel Xenia and her team made it look and feel magically catered to me. Also, all of us sitting at one table made me feel more connected to everyone that traveled so far to be with us on our special day. »

However, we combined the boho chic with a twist and a bit of a modern flair, the fairy lights over the dining area, the Greek setting for the welcome drink with traditional tables and chairs. The flowers we chose were a degradation of peach color palette, with light pink orchids, peonies, antique pink garden rose, peach mini carnations, pink spray rose, dried flowers, pampas etc. Everything was beautiful. Starting from the location of the venue, which has a stunning view of the sea with the small white church onsite. The decoration was elegant and classy as we expected it would be. Every corner had its unique charm!”

Any wedding at Columbia Beach Resort is going to be wonderful since it is such an amazing location for destination weddings in Cyprus and it definitely has all the elements to create such unforgettable setting for your special day! Stephani and Michalis tied the knot in the unique chapel at the resort, with Byzantine inspired murals in vivid colors designed by English painter, John Corbidge. Their hotel wedding reception was beautifully decorated with garden flowers and potted plants were given to the guests as creative wedding favors (we absolutely loved that idea!). The couple shared with us that their wedding theme was inspired by their walks at Canterbury. Such a beautiful idea!

“The chapel we chose to get married in was beautiful and something unique, so we decided to highlight the austerity and beauty without needing to decoration with additional flowers. It was definitely something original and very beautiful, since the wildflowers you find in the spring are beautiful!”.

“We met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Sorrento, Italy. Gary proposed on a trip he planned to Loch Lomond, Scotland. He surprised me with a speed boat trip around the Loch before stopping at Inversnaid Waterfall and then on to a private beach where he asked me to marry him. We had stayed at Aphrodite Hills in 2017 and was the only place we wanted to marry!”, the bride shared with us.

“Romantic ivory and blue round hand tie bouquets using lysianthus, roses, ranunculus, baby blue hydrangeas, eucalyptus and mixed foliage. Our wonderful florist also added fresh herbs into the flowers that gave a fresh scent. Our ceremony flower arch included organza drapes, the aisle had lanterns and or ceremony flowers were matching the bridal bouquet with cascading foliage over the table where we signed our marriage certificate. Our reception was in Aphrodite Hills Secret Garden. We had our seating plan mirror as our guests entered. Our round tables had tall glass cylinder vases, oases ball flower arrangement on a glass mirror plate including tea lights and sprinkling on crystals. A favourite for us was definitely the light curtain behind the top table and the overhead lighting really wowed us when we entered”.

“The confetti throwing as we walked down the aisle as husband and wife was my favourite moment. Pure happiness and so much fun! We entered our reception to be cheered on by all our friends and family and seen the reception decor for the first time. It blew us away with how stunning it looked! Our first dance was made even more special when the ground fireworks lit up the secret garden”.
