From photographer Amanda Lane Photography: “This proposal is inspired from the song, “It Is Well” by Bethel music. Listening to these beautiful lyrics, I began to picture a proposal where every aspect was centered on glorifying Christ. Too often, I feel couples will rush into a marriage because it’s the “next step” that all their friends are taking, the bride has already planned the Pinterest perfect wedding and is ready to seal the deal, or the groom just thinks he’s signing up for a personal chief and maid. We get caught up in fancying the idea, that we miss the meaning. Marriage should be about two souls coming together as one to serve each other and God as one flesh. It’s a beautiful covenant and representation of the Gospel. Making this decision should be well thought out and prayed on. All should be well with both souls.”
“I sought to make this a very simple and elegant shoot. Keeping to white, soft grey, and light pink gave a clean and romantic aesthetic. The single rose is symbolic of the simplicity, yet complexity of Christ. He is simple in his love for us, yet so complex in all that he has created. This rose is a symbol I love to hide within my images as a “signature” to say all my work is produced by God’s hand – not my own. You’ll see roses incorporated in small ways if you pay close attention. Stamptitude provided the wax seal with a rose emblem to add subtly to this idea. Anastasia put together natural, yet stunning make up and a timeless up-do.”
“We pulled in french elements, using a lovely tufted chair from Beautiful Event Rentals and a soft Amonie ring box. Lastly, the calligraphy love letter designed by Sarah Ann Design was a large focal point of this shoot. Love letters are my personal love language and I desired for this proposal to be similar to that of which I would want for myself.”
“While this is a stylized shoot, I wanted it to be symbolic of my personality and mission as an artist – to glorify God and share His love through my work. I pray these concepts are an inspiration to anyone seeking a pure and peaceful marriage. While they’re beautiful images, I fall in love with their purpose over and over”.
