We are madly in love with this couple’s beach wedding in Milos, one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. C & P Sofikitis Photography captured every heartfelt and genuine moment from this destination wedding and we simply just can’t get enough…
The bride shared with us: “He proposed on a safari holiday in Namibia. We’d been camping out for a couple of days already, when he suddenly drove into a stunning lodge in the heart of Damaraland. What a surprise! We had a sundowner followed by a private candle-light dinner on our balcony, during which he proposed. It was absolutely amazing…”
“The concept of our wedding in Milos was a travel-themed destination wedding. For the invitation, we decided on a passport in vintage style. We spent weeks on getting the invitation just right, but once this was done, the scene for everything else – from decoration to Thank You cards – was kind of set. Only for our attire, we decided to add a Greek touch (blue-and-white) instead of the vintage travel theme…”
“The wedding ceremony took place at Provotas Beach, on the Greek island of Milos. We checked out a few locations in Greece – Halkidiki, Santorini and Milos. As a destination wedding location, Milos was perfect: it is a stunning island of rugged beauty with amazing landscapes and a relaxed, authentic atmosphere. In addition, it also offered a surprising variety of attractions so there was bound to be something for everyone, from beach bums to adventurers, nature lovers to history buffs, geologists to archeologists…”
“We both love travelling and with it being a destination wedding, it was clear that the theme would be travelling. We had some specific ideas and provided a few items ourselves to add a personal touch, but we knew that our wedding planner is incredibly good at decorating so we left it up to her to make the theme work – and it did!”
“We wanted the wedding to be a simple and relaxed event where everyone, including ourselves, felt comfortable. The beach location was ideal to get that feeling across, so we encouraged our guests to wear whatever they were comfortable with. I too went for something that was simple, light and airy, mimicking the simple natural beauty of the island and the beach…”
“We found find inspiration and ideas while planning our wedding from many different places: online searches, wedding blogs, pinterest, Etsy, but also from previous weddings organised by our wedding planner”, the lovely bride shared with us.
