We are delighted today to have the lovely Gee from KnotsVilla share with us her re-imagined wedding! KnotsVilla (previously known as Everything Weddings And More) is an international wedding blog currently focusing on Theme-ful, Prop-ful Color-ful, Culture-ful wedding related events. “I created this blog just a few months after I planned my own wedding and decided to give back to the community in one way I knew best; Blogging!”, Gee told us and we certainly would love to see how she would plan her wedding all over again!
I got married 2 years ago which was my first wedding knowledge experience. Up until then, I was never the wedding girl so talking about the “industry” to me at that time would have warranted a blank stare. However I had always been a researcher so that helped me a bit to plan my wedding all by myself with a fiance that was in another country. If I had to do it all over again now as a wedding blogger, quite a number of things would be different.
The wedding style
I would most likely go for something more themed but with soft and earthy colors. If I had to pick a mainstream style, I’d be borderline Seaside/Nautical Chic. I would love bits and pieces of nautical objects but it would be majorly all about the soft sea colors – blues and all.
The Color Palette
I’m mostly a bold color girl but since I’m re-imagining the wedding that never happened, I’d try something softer. Using shades of the sea with neutral earthy colors would be a color palette I’d love to try. Being a bold color girl, I wont be surprised if I had pops of a third color (like the red on the cake) in a few other places, but majorly it would be the blues.

The wedding dress & shoes
I would be very happy to try something different once I can successfully convince mum its not a taboo to wear a non white wedding dress. A dusty blue dress is currently at the top of my list, with nude glitter shoes. I’ve always been a mermaid dress girl, so that’s one thing I would not change.
The wedding ceremony location & wedding reception venue
I think the best nautical weddings are outdoors so I would love one just like that either by the beach or the dock. Both ceremony and reception would be outdoor and very intimate (30-50 guests). I have also always loved long rectangular tables; they some how make a wedding feel even more intimate. Textured tablecloths, nautical themed napkin holders, escort boats, mid height floral centerpieces and great food; I’m all about that look. For the ceremony, I’d love to say “I Do” facing the water with a spectacular wedding aisle and white chairs.
Wedding Cake
I have never been a cake person, so the wedding blogger in me only cares about presentation. I’d like an obvious nautical cake, mid height cake with about 2 tiers. But in regards to what it would taste like, I’d probably ask the husband to make that decision.
Wedding favors
Edible wedding favors all the way! That’s one type of favor that I’m convinced won’t have a lot left over – I’m thinking candies and cake pops.
Entertaintment
For my wedding, we played the shoe game. Cliche I know, but I’d play it over and over again if I could – it was so much fun getting to fail all those questions and laugh with my newly acquired husband then. Also another thing I won’t change is the music. Every time I remember my wedding I can’t forget how active the dance floor was and that makes me so glad. Being a Nigerian, the music was 99% Nigerian music and that’s definitely something I’d keep.
Honeymoon
Hubby and I had somewhat of a city honeymoon in Lake Geneva. While it was great, we’ve always had Bora Bora on our minds since we met – it actually became “our thing”. So in this new wedding of mine, Bora Bora would definitely be the honeymoon spot for 1 week.

Hey Wedding Lady
I love the idea of a pale blue dress with nude glitter shoes – I bet that would look amazing on Gee! Vow renewal, maybe?
