«We met at a BBQ restaurant in Memphis TN, we were both living in the state for work and had a mutual friend visiting who invited us out for dinner. After 3 years of dating, we moved to NYC with our pets. On a February morning, Nickos took Mia for a stroll at Central Park and proposed at the iconic Gapstow Bridge. », the bride shared with us.

«For our wedding we wanted to incorporate soft blues – this can be seen in our draped arch and the bridal bouquet. We love hydrangeas, delphiniums, and roses! We were hoping for an elegant, romantic, and intimate setting for our ceremony and reception as our group was very small. Elena, our wedding coordinator from Golden Leaf Events and florist, was able to capture that perfectly!»

We loved having the candlelit dinner with our close family underneath the olive trees, while the sound of ocean waves and peaceful violin/cello melody from One Cello N a Half played in the background. «We met during a summer holiday abroad, even though we lived in the same village and went to the same school, 11 years ago. We fell in love with each other and after that summer we were inseparable. Andrei asked me to marry him three years ago, on a beautiful beach in Zakynthos. », the bride shared with us.

«We met at an office Christmas party. I had just signed my job offer and was invited by someone who had helped me get the job. I had walked in and sitting at the front desk with two other people picking out the playlist was Spencer. I had introduced myself and he pointed me to the people that had invited me, and from there we really went our separate ways that night. From there we acknowledged each other when we saw each other around, but never really hung out or went past small talk, until Spencer lost his job and was looking for opportunities and knew my office was working on a project he was interested in. In between finding his next opportunity, he volunteered in my office.»

«That’s where we talked more and started hanging out outside of the office. The first time hung out outside of work, we went on a hike and went for poutine (a Canadian specialty of cheese curds on top of fries, smothered in gravy) afterwards. I remember feeling so comfortable with him already. We sang in the car on the way back and really just had so much fun. What we consider our first date, Spencer took me to this amazing tapas bar. It had less than 10 tables, but it had the most amazing food and staff. The restaurant became our spot for special occasions and celebrations until it sadly closed during covid. », the bride shared with us.

«Spencer proposed! I kind of ruined it! I did know it was coming as we had looked at the rings but didn’t know when. Knowing it was coming I had asked for two things for his proposal: that it be away from any crowd. I didn’t want to make a scene, and to have a photo. I always get a flood of memories when looking at photos, so they are really important to me. We had recently gotten into hiking in upstate New York, so Spencer recommended we go there and get some fall photos (we usually go and take photos somewhere in the fall as I love to fall with changing leaves). I had it in the back of my mind that it might happen, but it had been a few months since we looked at rings, so I didn’t put too much thought into it.»

«Anyway, he had asked that I pack some nicer clothes to take a photo of at the top. The morning of I was putting on my makeup and realizing it would melt off by the time we got up to the top, so I asked if we could spend the day in the town the hiking spot was close to and take photos there… Spencer knowing what he was going to do was like that makes sense but was frantically trying to find another spot that wouldn’t have a crowd. We drive and cross the border into the US (he’s driving so he can’t google for a new spot) and get into the town… and it’s PACKED. Everyone was there for the fall leaves. Poor Spencer couldn’t find a nice, secluded spot anywhere. We had seen the most beautiful lookout on our drive up, so after taking photos in the town, we stopped to go look. We had a tripod with us to take the photos. He had been so stressed all day, so I started to clue in lol. Anyway we were at the lookout and there was another couple there that we chatted with for a few minutes (I now know Spencer was in his head begging them to leave). After they left, we went into the lookout spot, set up our tripod to take the photo, and then posed together. Well, that’s when he got down on one knee! It was perfect! I was just processing everything, and I had forgotten to say yes lol… just shook my head, so he was like confirming it’s a yes, right? So funny! We were walking back to the tripod, laughing and really happy. We went to take a look at the photos and none of them had been taken… we laughed and were like well let’s recreate it… we tried again and that’s when we realized we were too far away so the remote wasn’t being recognized. So we moved closer and I took the remote and we recreated it again. In the photo we have you can see me holding the remote… it’s very funny, but every time I look at it, it brings me so much happiness and laughter thinking about it all. »

When Spencer and I sat down to discuss florals and decor we decided we wanted local and minimal florals and greenery so the landscape could take center stage. Also due to wanting to keep the landscape center stage we wanted our florals to be largely greenery with sprinkles of white.

« We were originally supposed to get married in a gazebo on the Blue Cave Villas property and planned for florals to wrap around it, but when we checked in, Giorgos, the owner of Blue Cave Villas, offered us the incredible balcony spot we got married at. So, with less than a weeks’ notice the incredible people at Fiorentinos allowed us to change our florals to be the baskets, which were a great choice because if we had done a more traditional arch, it likely would’ve ended up in the ocean due to the extreme wind, we ended up having. We also had them line the aisle with greenery that we were able to reuse when decorating our table. Spencer and I have so many highlights from the ceremony. »

«Our incredible celebrant, Elizabeth Cass-Kanti, planned an amazing ceremony where we shared stories we had submitted to her about relationships, and thoughts on marriage. This is Spencer’s favorite part. Mine is really torn between the wedding crown part my sister Julia helped do. It was so windy and made it very challenging for her on top of Spencer being quite a bit taller, so we had to reach quite a bit and Spencer had to bend down a lot. The other part that’s a favorite is my sister Anndrea wrote the most beautiful poem and delivered it so well! It was a tear jerking, and heartwarming moment for sure! Because there were just 10 of us, our reception was largely focused on the food. We hired Chef Alexandros Patrinos and his team to cater the entire day (breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner), so we had a beautiful meal prepared by his team paired with delicious wines that were both local to Zakynthos and from across Greece. It was very simple but more focused on enjoying each other’s company and the moment, and we loved it. »

«I mentioned the ceremony and reception aspects previously, but our favorite part was making our wedding a family vacation. It was great to spend so much quality time with our families and relax ahead of the big day. »

The bride’s advice: «1) Plan together. Spencer and I divided up the tasks and came together over a glass of wine and some cheese and reviewed the different options and made a decision. This helped us share the load of the planning, while making sure the day was one that made us both happy. 2) Don’t worry about the things you can’t change. We ended up having some insane wind, and we decided to just roll with it. I think this allowed us to look back on this day with so many happy memories, and my veil flying off when I walked down the aisle is a moment we look back and laugh on. If we would’ve gotten upset that it wasn’t the weather, we envisioned I think we wouldn’t have the same happy memories to look back on. Pick vendors that you connect with! Then trust them. They’ve done lots of weddings and know what works and what doesn’t! »

«My wedding dress is from Essence of Australia. My mom had flown from Winnipeg to Ottawa Canada, and Spencer’s mom drove from Oshawa to be with me to pick it out. It was actually the second dress I tried on! I loved it at the first store we visited, but wanted to keep my options open, so we went for lunch and then went to the next store where I tried on a number of other dresses, but when I tried the dress at the second store, I knew it was my dress. »

«We had a lot of symbolism in our ceremony: My brother passed away more than 7 years ago, and it was hard thinking of him not being there. So, I had part of his blue shirt sewed into my dress, so that he’d be there with me. We also left an open seat for him so that he could be there in spirit. Spencer also honored his late grandparents by wearing a pin from his grandfather and cuff links from his nanny. My jewelry was all pieces that Spencer had gifted me throughout our relationship. Our ceremony music was also intentionally chosen. My aisle song was a recording done by my talented cousin, Alex Barber. Our recessional, We Found Love by Rihanna, was a jesting nod to us first meeting when we worked in Canadian politics. We had a hard time picking Spencer’s aisle song, but in the lead up we were constantly watching Shotgun Wedding with Jennifer Coolidge and near the end she sings I’ll Be as the bride walks down the aisle just before they defeat the pirates that ruined their wedding. So, it was a nod to that movie and our belief that marriage should be based on trust, honesty, teamwork and a healthy dose of humor.» the bride shared with us.

«I met Kostas quite a while ago as we were classmates and friends in high school. Even though we always had feelings for each other we never expressed it in a way. Years later and after I returned to Thessaloniki as I was a student in another city, we again came close because of mutual friends and inevitably ended up together as the feelings remained the same. The marriage proposal was Harry Potter themed as I’m a huge fan. He reserved the courtyard of my favorite shop as Konstantinos knew very well that I do not like public and extravagant events as I am quite shy and to the sounds of music from the Harry Potter movies he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, Inside my favorite book Harry Potter had made a large hole in the shape of a heart and put the ring inside… », the bride shared with us.

«I wanted the wedding colors and choices to be in pastel romantic – earthy shades without exaggeration. The white and pink pastel were the main color in the flowers as well as the overall decoration of the setting. What I loved the most in the decoration was the welcome board at the entrance of the reception that welcomed people but also had a very personal piece of me and Konastantinos, with some lyrics of my favorite band that mean a lot to us. Another very favorite element of mine were the wedding favors which I made myself with a lot of love. The wedding bouquet had roses in pastel pink and white colors and its shape was strictly round. »

«We met through a mutual friend. My best friend from high school had joined the San Francisco Police Academy in 2018. As their academy was coming to an end in 2019, my friend through a birthday party where she included friends from high school, college, and her academy buddies. At that birthday party, the mutual friend introduced me to Bryan, but there was very minimal conversation. It wasn’t for a couple weeks until Bryan messaged me to ask me out on our first date.»

«In January of 2021, we went to Lake Tahoe with another couple to have a winter weekend away! On the first day of our trip, the four of us drove to Sand Harbor beach which overlooked the lake with snow surrounding us. On January 21st, Bryan dropped to one knee and proposed to me. Our two best friends were there to document the entire moment but at the same time it was so intimate and perfect. We had the whole weekend to celebrate and was really the best weekend. », the bride shared with us.

My aesthetic and vision for this wedding was desert neutrals. I wanted to focus on cream, sand, desert tones to really highlight the venue and location. My bouquet included quicksand roses, hydrangeas, white phalaenopsis, white ranunculus, and Sahara colored roses. The style of decoration was inspired by the desert and the mountains.

«Neutral tones have always been my aesthetic and I wanted to stick to that. From the furniture rentals to the throw pillows, and the small details, it all came together. I rented canvas colored furniture, with light wooden tables, and neutral linens to tie it all in. The details included custom cream cocktail napkins, custom matches, and signage that was the cherry on top. I absolutely love matches and think it is an old school keep sake that everyone loves. I didn’t want to include a favor that many have done before and wanted something that people can actually use. The matches were my signature touch! At our ceremony, we included minimalist cream fans on each seat and beautiful florals on each row and at the altar. »

The bride’s advice: «I know everyone says it, and I know it is easier said than done, but on the day of you need to enjoy every moment. You spent months and months planning, having meetings, and taking long calls to plan this day. Trust that all has been done, and for whatever goes wrong, no one else will know but you. I can confidently say I woke up on my wedding day ready to spend the day with my closest friends and ready to marry my best friend with no worry. I trusted the process that I have done everything I could up until that point, and it is now time to just enjoy the day and not stress about anything that comes my way. The day goes by too fast, enjoy your day with your partner, it is what you have been waiting for months. »

My favorite moment from our wedding was our final dance. After the after party and In N Out truck ended, Bryan and I shared one last dance before their final departure. It was super important to the bride and groom to share one last moment just the two of them to really soak up the whole day. We shared our final dance to the song Better Together by Luke Combs, and it was the perfect last moment.

«My wedding dress was made in Australia, and I bought it from Novella Bridal in San Francisco. I always knew what type of wedding dress I wanted and after trying on many dresses, I went back to the style I always had my heart set on. My dress had a sweetheart neckline and was fitted until the hips and started to flare out a bit. The lines and details on this dress were absolutely perfect. The lines of buttons all down my back was something I always wanted on my dress. Lastly, I worked with my seamstress to add custom loose sleeve straps that snapped on the back of the dress. The loose look of the sleeve completed the dress. »

«We are a pandemic love story meeting in 2021. As everything was closed, we started off with walking and coffee dates which eventually turned into dinner in each other’s houses and really got to know each other without any distractions from the outside world. 4 months later, in August 2021 we went to Italy for two weeks visiting Puglia, Venice and Tuscany and it was incredible and we fell in love in Italy. It was the best two weeks of adventuring together.» the bride shared with us.

«Colm proposed during a weekend in Paris a year later, it was so romantic and so much fun. He proposed at midnight at the Effiel Tower just as it sparkled – it was so thoughtful as it was my friend who had mentioned it sparkles on the hour every hour. It was so private and intimate as there was nobody else in the park, I turned around and there he was on one knee. I obviously said yes, and we went back to the restaurant on the Seine and had a bottle of champagne.»

Colm proposed with my birthstone ring as he wanted us to pick the ring together when we were in Paris which I loved as I am particular about jewelry. The next day we had such a gorgeous day together, we didn’t tell anyone until that evening, and we just soaked up the special moment. We picked the ring from Tiffany it was beautiful.

«The wedding decor was classic and beautiful, white roses, Lillies, candles and everything was outside under the start, we chose Portugal for the climate and the sunny days to allow us to get married in the garden of the Quinta Da Conceicao.»

We loved the ceremony in the walled garden. It was a humanist ceremony at 5 pm then we had a sunset cocktail reception with music and then dinner on the terrace and the band outside where we danced the night away until 1 am. We loved the vibe, the terracotta tiles, flowers, and private property for the weekend.

«John chose the picturesque setting of Paso Robles, California, to pop the question. We were seated beneath the shade of a magnificent 100-year-old oak tree, nestled in the heart of a vineyard. When you have the rolling hills of Tuscany and the backdrop of Montepulciano as your ceremony backdrop you do not need much in the way of decorations, but we made sure that all the elements we did include were inspired by the rustic charm and natural beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Opting to elope and later celebrate with a grand reception back home allowed us to seamlessly dedicate the entire day to ourselves. Despite the intimate elopement, no corners were cut in terms of details or expenses. Every element typically found in a traditional wedding – exquisite decor, a stunning venue, and all the customary features – was present. However, the key difference was that it was just the two of us, relishing a moment of undivided attention and devotion. Having both experienced the grandeur of large weddings in our previous marriages, we recognized how easily the focus can shift towards entertaining guests rather than celebrating the essence of the couple. In contrast, our elopement spared us from such considerations, enabling us to channel 100% of our energy and focus exclusively on our love. Our decision to embark on a second journey into matrimony allowed us to curate an authentic experience tailored solely for us. We wanted a modern and relaxed Mediterranean feel, and had a mixture of Cypriot greens, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums with touches of luxury white roses and orchids. We had an assortment of singular statement florals in organic ceramic pots, and fresh lemons that Joe picked that morning from our garden in Cyprus.

«I loved all of it! It was a beautiful blend of cultures, with lots of fun, laughter, and Greek dancing. The band, Knights Club were also amazing and really set the tone for a fun evening. »

«My wedding dress was Halfpenny London. The girls at Halfpenny managed to pick me out so many fantastic options, and even recommended me some hair stylists in Cyprus. The boutique is amazing, and it was so fun to try on all the separates. I knew I wanted something classic, sleek, glamorous, but also a little different. I wasn’t really a veil girl, and I completely fell in love with the romantic ruffles of the Blaze Shrug. »

«We met through mutual friends in school about 11 years ago, and we used to go out dancing together every weekend and bike rides around the island. We were crazy in love from the beginning. While we were on an “off the grid” week away to his village Taulant asked me to be his wife. », the bride shared with us.

We choose a relaxed boho style. Tasos Gouriotis from Gourioti Flowers helped choose the flowers and the bouquet. Our friends helped draw and build the signage and the wedding favors, we tried to keep it simple. Tasos again did the table decorations keeping to the theme.
