The lovely couple celebrated their love with their beloved ones in the beautiful venue of Quinta de Segade with the prettiest and bright flowers creating the most romantic ambiance you ever see! As the bride shared with us «Since it was a summer wedding in the venue with large green area, I wanted a colorful bouquet with mix of textures and seasonal flowers which Portugal has plenty to choose from… ». «We met at the University, and he proposed in Italy. », the bride shared with us.

«Some names of the flowers in the bouquet were vuvuzela garden rose, ranunculus, chamomile, delphinium, snap dragons, clematis, matthiola. I also had a smaller additional bouquet to throw. The decoration of the venue was also colorful. Since the venue has a lot of flowers and trees by itself, it was already looking beautiful. The decoration of the tables was colorful again – Limonium plus greens like eucalyptus, etc. These flowers do very well in hot climates and even at the end of the party look fresh. The ceremony was in the church. This church was not very big in size and had a lot of light, we liked it a lot.»

«As decoration we choose simple white yet beautiful ranunculus and some greens like eucalyptus. During the reception we and our guests enjoyed green open space of the venue with lots of light and vivid colors. »

Favorite part of the wedding was part of the games, where the groom and his friends needed to solve some tasks to get the bride back! It was a fun moment with music, laughs, dances!

The bride’s advice: «I recommend starting booking venue/ photographer / makeup much in advance! At least, in Portugal, wedding market is very hot! While checking options, I recommend using Excel to keep track of visits, contacts, etc., it helps not to keep track of everything. Also, it is a nice idea to set a qr code to ask the guests to upload pictures/videos they took during the wedding. This qr code can also be used by you, once pictures from photographer are ready and you want to share them with the guests. When it comes to pictures/videos, I recommend choosing both, it is a great memory to have a video that you can watch later on. »

Also, I recommend creating a wedding website with all the necessary information for the guests (timing, location, dress code, what to do in the city for guests traveling from other locations). It is also very convenient to keep track of RSVPs and food preferences with the help of the website.

Patricia and Christian tied the knot in a such a romantic and heartfelt way at the gorgeous Casa da Volta Villa in Portugal. Their wedding decoration was filled with white and bright yellow flowers that truly stood out against the whitewashed walls of the beautiful villa’s courtyard and as the bride mentioned to us: «This choice was not only reminiscent of the wildflowers of the Alentejo but also happens to be Christian’s favorite color. «Christian and I crossed paths in January 2015 in Lisbon, where we initially connected on Tinder. Surprisingly, instead of diving into a romantic relationship, we became close friends for the first 5-6 months. During this time, Christian resided in a spacious shared apartment with an amazing group of international individuals, fostering an environment brimming with laughter and fond memories. I distinctly recall our shared dinners, with Christian constantly showcasing his culinary skills, creating a sense of home for all of us who lacked family nearby. As our friendship deepened over time, transitioning into something more felt natural. Our connection always remained grounded in a foundation of mutual understanding and respect. Christian, to me, became synonymous with family.»

«Fast forward to nearly six years of dating, including two years enduring the challenges of a long-distance relationship. In June 2021, Christian planned an incredibly thoughtful and surprising proposal that took place at one of my favorite spots in Lisbon, the Gulbenkian garden. With the help of our close friends who work in commercial film and photography, together they orchestrated a fake photoshoot for a “Tourism Portugal” campaign. We were “asked” to pose as models for the shoot. Little did I know, Christian had a different plan in mind. As we went through the motions of the photoshoot, Christian disappeared for a moment. When he returned, he got down on one knee and proposed, catching me completely off guard. It was a beautiful and emotional moment, surrounded by the greenery of the garden and the support of our friends. It was a perfect representation of our journey together and the love we share. », the brides shared with us.

We drew a lot of inspiration from our stunning venue and the breathtaking natural surroundings of Casa da Volta. After extensive research, I discovered an incredible local florist duo whose floral arrangements resembled works of art from nature itself. We opted for a neutral palette overall, punctuated with vibrant pops of bright yellow…

«Our official ceremony remained intimately small, with only 14 guests in total—our immediate family and a select few friends serving as witnesses. Drawing from my extensive background in theatre and performing arts, I really wanted to create an intimate setting that stripped away the performative elements often associated with traditional weddings. »

«It’s quite challenging to pinpoint our absolute favorite moment, but if pressed to choose, I’d say it was the dinner we shared at the round table surrounded by our friends and family. Throughout the day, several perfect moments stood out to us. We felt incredibly fortunate that all our guests were able to stay directly at the venue, which created a wonderfully warm atmosphere for the entire day. Everyone chipped in to create a delightful brunch spread for everyone to enjoy while we prepared for the festivities. Christian’s mother kindly assisted me in steaming my dress, and, of course, my mother was there every step of the way as I got ready. The ceremony itself was deeply meaningful, and afterward, we all gathered for a celebratory dinner filled with conversation and laughter and our delicious cake! The entire day felt like a cozy home gathering, where every moment was filled with warmth and laughter, making it truly special. »

Deep down, we always knew the kind of celebration we wanted, but it was easy to get sidetracked by internet and Instagram trends. Our goal was to create a day that celebrated our love, with some traditional elements but mainly focused on bringing our families together. Christian and I worked closely, using spreadsheets, and having regular meetings to stay aligned.

So, I would say trust your gut and try not to get sidetracked with others’ expectations. Open communication with your partner, planning the event as a couple, a mix of what you both would like the day to represent. »

«My dress was by Rembo Styling, an atelier from Portugal. It took quite some time and research to find the right one. I was looking for something simple, without too much embellishment. As a former ballet dancer, I’ve worn beautiful costumes, and many wedding dresses I saw reminded me of that style. While it could work for some weddings, it wasn’t what I wanted. In the end, I chose a simple square neck dress with a small train that flowed nicely. It came with a matching square belt. The shop where I purchased it, Vesidus in Lisbon, did an excellent job with the order, tailoring, and pickup. »

This beautiful wedding of Linda and Colm in Lisbon will melt your heart! «We are a pandemic love story meeting in 2021. As everything was closed, we started off with walking and coffee dates which eventually turned into dinner in each other’s houses and really got to know each other without any distractions from the outside world. 4 months later, in August 2021 we went to Italy for two weeks visiting Puglia, Venice and Tuscany and it was incredible and we fell in love in Italy. It was the best two weeks of adventuring together.» the bride shared with us.

«Colm proposed during a weekend in Paris a year later, it was so romantic and so much fun. He proposed at midnight at the Effiel Tower just as it sparkled – it was so thoughtful as it was my friend who had mentioned it sparkles on the hour every hour. It was so private and intimate as there was nobody else in the park, I turned around and there he was on one knee. I obviously said yes, and we went back to the restaurant on the Seine and had a bottle of champagne.»

Colm proposed with my birthstone ring as he wanted us to pick the ring together when we were in Paris which I loved as I am particular about jewelry. The next day we had such a gorgeous day together, we didn’t tell anyone until that evening, and we just soaked up the special moment. We picked the ring from Tiffany it was beautiful.

«The wedding decor was classic and beautiful, white roses, Lillies, candles and everything was outside under the start, we chose Portugal for the climate and the sunny days to allow us to get married in the garden of the Quinta Da Conceicao.»

We loved the ceremony in the walled garden. It was a humanist ceremony at 5 pm then we had a sunset cocktail reception with music and then dinner on the terrace and the band outside where we danced the night away until 1 am. We loved the vibe, the terracotta tiles, flowers, and private property for the weekend.

We are absolutely in love with Tanaz and Will’s wedding in Portugal captured by JJMT Photographers. The couple chose to exchange their vows privately, speaking from their heart and creating such beautiful moments. Later on they celebrated during their wedding reception at the Forte da Cruz wedding venue, a lovely historical villa on the Lisbon Coast and as the bride shared with us: «My favorite moment was walking out from the top floor of Forte da Cruz venue and seeing all our friends and family having fun and celebrating. »

«My friend saw his picture and knew I would like him because he looked like a lumberjack with his facial hair and muscles and reached out to him and connected us to speak and it was the best first date. He proposed one morning as we were on the beach watching the sunrise as we occasionally do together and he pointed out a shell on the sand and when I picked it up, the ring was inside. Very private and naturally beautiful surroundings. », the bride shared with us.

«He bought me roses every week for a year when I finally told him I actually don’t like flowers. We wanted a wedding theme with just crystals and candles and so had zero flowers at the wedding. We had tree branches as centerpieces with hanging crystals and pearls. We had candles all around the venue along the walls and floors…»

We also did not want a public ceremony so exchanged vows privately and then met up with the guests at the cocktail hour to start the party.

«I fell in love with the brand Milla Nova. She is a Ukrainian designer who knows how to create romantic, fairytale, sexy dresses and I knew I wanted a dress from her. »

My advice to other brides is to find a wedding team/vendor that are very responsive, communicate well and on schedule. That way you are less stressed out having to take on a lot on your own.
