Alexis and Peter’s outdoor blue and white wedding in Evia Greece was such a beautiful celebration of two people truly and deeply in love. Friends and family followed the couple to this unique location for weddings in Greece. “I’ll remember that week for the rest of my life, and I’m sure others will as well. Leaving felt like the last day of summer camp as a child”, said the bride Alexis, a Life Coach and Writer based in Boston.
“I met Peter at a concert through friends. I thought he would just be a networking contact to find a job, but our friendship and then relationship developed”.
The gorgeous outdoor blue and white wedding also included details in shades of soft purple and the wedding theme was country with a greek flair.
“I got dressed with my mother, sister and girlfriends. I felt like a princess although my stomach was twisted in knots…”
Alexis wedding dress was an elegant pearl white dress with a halter top that tied around my neck with a low, deep cut back. It was a perfect dress for an intimate outdoor wedding.
“The owner’s father had built Villa Delenia from scratch. Being a world traveler there were gems tucked around the villa that he brought back with him from all over the world. Bookcases were actually secret passageways, the rooms had lofted beds complete with fire poles and ropes to swing down, an outdoor Turkish steam room made from brick, a saltwater pool and massage bed. It was nothing short of magical…”
“The wedding colors were shades of blue and white. The dinner was elegant and rustic… outside on a long wooden table”.
“When the time came, I met my father in the kitchen who was then going to walk me down the aisle. Literally, as soon as I saw him and he told me I looked beautiful, I burst into tears”.
“My sister did a wonderful job officiating the ceremony, our mother’s each did a reading and Peter and I read the vows we wrote to one another”.
“I told Peter of my need for freedom and how I found within him the ability to be in love and still be free. He spoke of our difficult beginning to our relationship and the trials we’ve overcome together”.
“By the power of the great big Greek sea, we said I do, kissed and then I jumped on his back and was carried through our reception exit as rose petals were showered on us!” Alexis mentioned that a really special moment of the wedding was at sunset. After the reception a pod of dolphins swam by the wedding location. “The sun was setting and the sky was a gorgeous pink, which we hadn’t seen the entire week. Bette, one of the cooks who spoke mostly Greek, ushered us over to excitedly show us the dolphins swimming by! She said it’s extremely rare and that it means good luck.”
Everything about Alexis and Peter’s blue and white wedding was perfection! Such a lovely affair on a gorgeous location and the most important detail was the fact that the couple followed their heart and planned an unforgettable experience for all. “There are going to be stressful moments during the wedding or arguments with loved ones, but just have fun. Make your wedding unique and perfect for your style and what you want. When everyone parted ways at the end of the week I knew we created something special. People who had never met before were now close friends”.
