Bursting with the prettiest pastel hues, this wedding is legit goals! Alecia and Paul had always dreamed about a wedding overseas and UK wasn’t the ideal location for this. So, they chose to seal their love with a gorgeous, intimate celebration in Santorini, Greece. The ceremony and reception were beautifully decorated with white and pastel pink details and had a classy, simple style. After their ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious, romantic dinner down the stars with the breathtaking view of Santorini’s nature and beaches. Enjoy every single moment through the following photos!
The bride shared with us: “As commuters into London, we both got on the same train, on the same carriage for years! I travelled alone, he travelled with a colleague, whilst noticing each other’s attraction, we did not acknowledge one another. We would get off the train and go our separate ways to work every day for about 4 years until Paul got another job and started getting a different train. About 8 months later, I had got a new job myself with different working hours and so hopped on an earlier train. ‘The man on the train’ was sat in front of me! We did not acknowledge one another, no polite smiles or good mornings, just awkward commuter silence. As other passengers got off the train at different stations, we ended up moving closer and closer together, to the point where we could see what music one another was listening to and looking everywhere else but at each-other. After a few weeks of this, we finally said Hello to one another and this moment changed our lives forever! Nowadays, he always reminds me of every time he offered me his seat and I would always say no!”
“The proposal was more than I could have ever imagined! Paul took me away to New York for my birthday as a surprise, so I didn’t actually know I was going until we were at the check in desk! Waking up the next day in the Plaza was my birthday so he told me he had planned a day out and I was to ask no questions. We headed down to Brooklyn Bridge where to my absolute surprise he popped the question! He then whisked me off across town for a helicopter ride over New York City followed by a horse and carriage ride around Central Park, ending the day with a wonderful Broadway show and dinner at New York’s finest – Le Bernadin. The best part of the proposal was that he had hired a secret photographer to take pictures of the whole thing and I didn’t know we’d captured it until we got the pictures a few days later! Photos we’ ll treasure forever!”
“I wanted a super simple dress with no fuss, so I gathered a bridesmaid style would probably be best to fit the design requirements. As soon as my now husband proposed I simply Googled “white bridesmaid dress” and fell in love with the first image I found! I struggled to find the dress anywhere nearby so tried on similar styles, I very nearly purchased one similar, then thought ‘let me check once more’ and lo and behold the dress I fell in love with from day one was in a wedding dress shop 10 minutes from my home! I called the store, told the lady I wanted to buy it (I left wedding dress shopping quite last minute, so the lovely owner understood the urgency) the kind owner opened her store one Sunday for me and I popped in to get measured and make payment. I was in and out in 10 minutes, it was just meant to be!”
“The ceremony took place in Santorini, Greece. I had always dreamed of a wedding overseas, you just can’t trust the UK weather! With Paul being half Greek, it made great sense to get married in Greece and really meant a lot to my Greek mother in law.”
“We went for a white / pink color scheme, simple and classy. We were quite relaxed with the wedding decor and basically left it up to the professionals. We sent a couple of emails to Fabio Zardi around colors and it just all fell into place!”
“The best moment of our wedding was becoming husband and wife…”
Advice to a bride-to-be: “Stay chilled! Your wedding is a celebration of your love – Don’t get hung up on the dress and decor. it’s about sharing special moments and creating memories with the people you love… Just make sure there’s more than enough food and drinks for guests!”
