Today we are featuring a beautiful wedding full of romance and elegance that will mesmerize you! Rob and Lily chose to seal their love with a dreamy beach wedding in white and green hues, having as a backdrop the blue sea of Larnaca. The location was so romantic and became even dreamy with fresh flowers, candles, fairy lights and beautiful grid partitions full of greenery. The bride was gorgeous wearing her stunning flowy dress with open back holding her lovely bridal bouquet of delphinium, roses, lisianthus, hydrangea, peonies and other flowers combined with eucalyptus, olive and Italian ruscus. Be inspired by this lovely wedding through the following photos and feel absolutely transported to this amazing summer wedding!
The bride shared with us: “We went to the same school and met through friends. Then a couple of years later, for my birthday he booked to take me to New York as a surprise. We went for a bike ride around Central Park on one of the hottest days of the year (it was awful!) so I made us stop, and sit down for lunch. By this time I thought I’d earned a lay down in the grass. So I closed my eyes only to be nudged by Rob, like he was in some kind of panic. I thought someone stole our hired bike and started to panic, and he reached into his pocket and showed me the ring. He asked me if I would be his wife, and I cried for at least 10 minutes before answering yes!”
“The ceremony took place in Galu Seaside, Larnaca.”
“We chose Cyprus because it’s where my family are from and we have a house there. It had always been a second home to me and when Rob started to holiday with us he began to feel the same.”
“My wedding dress was a design by Jesus Peiro – which coincidentally is the same designer as my sister’s wedding dress! It’s a deep V with lovely big box pleats that conceal my favourite part of the dress…the pockets!!”
“We had a lot of white flowers in my bouquet and around the venue. We used delphinium, rose, lisianthus, hydrangea, wax flowers, eryngium and peonies. We paired these flowers with relatively muted greens – eucalyptus, olive and Italian ruscus.”
“Sixfour had the idea of using grid partitions for both the ceremony backdrop and the seating plan. We wanted to create an intimate space that felt sleek and structural, but didn’t block the view of the sea. After the ceremony, we used that area for lounging and a glitter bar in the evening. For the head table dining area, Sixfour designed 3 backdrop panels that went in the spaces between the gazebos with multi-level lighting above our heads. The big ceremony arrangements were moved around the venue to the lounging areas, and it was all topped off with low level festoons lights above.”
“We wanted our wedding to feel modern and slick. I wanted there to be a lot of white, so we had to work to find exactly the right contrasting elements that would help make the white so high impact. We complemented with black, grey and lots of greenery to create drama.”
“The best moment of the wedding was walking down the aisle and seeing Rob, all the stresses of the day melted away once I knew we’d made it to the most important bit. I also really loved my sister’s speech and I am so glad I asked her to do it. It was very touching and really made everyone laugh – I don’t think any of the guests will ever forget it.”
Bride’s advice: “Firstly, don’t stress about being perfect – which I know is pointless to say, because when other brides told me the same I ignored it and stressed even more! Little things are going to go wrong, and they always end up being the best part of the story. And also, don’t forget to stand quietly and look around. Look at all the faces of your guests and all of the people that have come to celebrate your day, the day often goes so quickly that we forget to take it all in.”
