Dreaming of a wedding that combines a neutral color palette with vivid colors? Well, then today’s wedding is for you! Courtney and Alex decided to seal their love with a chic wedding in Cyprus, where Alex’s parents are from. Cyprus was the ideal place for them as it combines nice weather, beautiful landscapes, friendly atmosphere and tasty traditional cuisine. Both ceremony and reception followed an elegant yet simple style with greenery, flowers and many candles. The whole day was filled with romantic moments and shiny details. Enjoy the wedding of this beautiful couple through the following photos by Antonis Prodromou!
The bride shared with us: “We met online and Alex proposed at a show where is my favorite band, Odesza, was playing in their hometown of Washington, DC. Alex’s parents are from Cyprus and brought him to Cyprus frequently when he was growing up. I wanted to get married there upon my first visit. The island of love was appealing for many reasons: the weather, the laid-back nature, the food and the chance to bring family and friends to a country which has become their second home. We also hope to bring our children to the island often as Alex’s parents did for him.”
“The ceremony took place in Demetrion Family Restaurant in Liopetri, outside Ayia Napa, in Cyprus. I picked neutral metallics and greenery for our wedding. I let her bridesmaids pick whatever dress they wanted and worked with her planner to stay within the color scheme. My koumbaro coined the theme as “Greek Gatsby”!”
“As for my flowers of my flower bouquet… I don’t even know! I found this stunning photo from my photographer’s blog and sent it to my planner. I had to have it and it turned out better than I expected.”
“I kept our wedding decoration very simple, as I knew by the time we got to the reception it would be dark. We focused on romantic lighting and wanted to set the stage with food and music. Our planner also recommended that we light up the beach since it was hard to see at night. The most important focus for us was food, drink and music, we knew that decoration could be kept simple as long as our family and friends were fed well!”
“The best moment of our wedding was dancing! Everyone was so into having a good time and the music really made it easy. So glad that we got a DJ and a traditional Greek band.”
“My wedding dress was a silk crepe ivory dress by Amsale.”
“My advice to a bride-to-be is to stay organized! There were so many times that vendors and the planner came back with questions. I saved everything in a Google Drive folder and kept every email and receipt and confirmation. It really saved a lot of headache. Also, narrow down what is important to you. A lot of people will ask questions and insist you do something because they did. Ignore what isn’t important to you and spend the money on the things that are.”
