Victoria and Jonathan fell in love with the beautiful landscape of Nissi Beach Resort in Cyprus, so they decided to create a wedding overflowed with romance and shine in this magical place. The dominant colors of their wedding were white and silver with some hints of pastel pink. The greenery scene was adorned with opulent flower bouquets and petals in white hues, mirrors and crystal details. The couple and their loved ones enjoyed a romantic tasty dinner in an atmospheric reception full of string lights, candles and sparkles. “Jonathan and I met in high school, we didn’t start speaking until we had been there for 4 years but have been together ever since…”, the bride shared with us.“…We were in Turkey and we went a walk on the first night. We walked out on a little pier where Jonathan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
“We got married in Cyprus, Nissi Beach Resort. We had never discussed a wedding so had no clue where to start, a family member mentioned we should get married abroad so I started searching abroad weddings. Cyprus was a really popular destination and during a wedding show at the SECC in Glasgow I saw pictures of Nissi Beach Resort and fell in love. I booked a date and sent the date to Jonathan telling him it was his wedding date.”
“I had an idea about the dress I wanted but when I enquired about it i was told i wouldn’t be able to buy a dress like that. I wanted a backless off the shoulder dress but I was told a backless dress needs straps over the shoulder to keep the material against my skin. So I bought a dress that showed my back and then when I went to get the alterations I explained my dream dress and they told me they could change my dress into the one i wanted and it was perfect!! I have so many people messaging me asking to buy it but i can’t part with it yet. The original dress was called Oksana Mukha Peris.”
“I wanted lots of mirrors at the wedding, our table names were written on mirrors and the seating plan was on a mirror, so I naturally went for a silvery/grey color as a theme to tie in with the mirrors. I also wanted lots of flowers as I think they are romantic.”
“I had more of an idea of colors over the particular type of flowers. I knew I wanted peonies and hydrangea for my bouquet with mostly pale pink and creams. I kept the bridesmaids simple with gypsophila bouquets. The men wore thistles (as we are Scottish) and gypsophila.”
“I wanted the scenery to be the most eye-catching part but did have some key decorative pieces. We had flowers on the roof of the gazebo we got married in then we had floral center pieces on the tables and sequin table runners.”
“I joined a Cyprus weddings Facebook group and got inspiration from a lot of posts on there, but I just went with my own taste and picked things I thought looked good. I made a board on Pinterest after I had selected everything, so I knew how it would all look together which was great!”
“The best moment of our wedding was doing some rock climbing just to make sure we got the perfect pictures. The entire holiday I had been the most careful person, hardly moving from my sun lounger in case I injured myself but on the day our photographers took us to a gorgeous place that we could get our pictures taken but it included some rock climbing I was so glad I did it because our pictures are everything I wanted!”
“Throughout the day my (now) husband and I kept telling each other to ‘take it in’ and I’m so glad we did because we stopped to appreciate where we were and who we were surrounded by and it means we have the best memories of the day because we took the time to stop and appreciate everything.”
