These two lovebirds tied the knot at Rocabella Hotel in Santorini, and we are totally enraptured by their stunning wedding filled with bougainvillea and white roses! Corinee and Jon decided to create a romantic, dreamy wedding in Santorini, where they had their first holiday. They picked a color palette inspired by the Greek island with blues and whites and gold details for extra shine and glam. Gorgeous floral designs with greenery, fuchsia bougainvillea and white roses adorned every single corner of the ceremony as well as the dreamy arch and the reception dinner tables. Both style and atmosphere of this celebration of love had chic yet relaxed vibes that made every single guest feel like are on holidays. The bride shared with us: “We met through a mutual friend in January 2017 and were engaged on 10th December 2017! Jon proposed on a Christmas trip to London, we went to see the Lion King and to the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. At Winter Wonderland we went ice skating and Jon proposed (he even got down on one knee in ice skates!) – I was so surprised and so happy!”
“For my bridal bouquet I picked white roses and greenery with bougainvillea (as this beautiful flower appears all over Santorini, I just had to include it)”.
“We went for our first holiday in Santorini and just loved the island and the people there. It was perfect for us because it meant we could keep numbers small by having a destination wedding and we could have guaranteed sunshine on our wedding day!”
“I tried on hundreds of dresses before I found the right one! As soon as I tried it on though i knew – i didn’t want to take it off and walked about the bridal shop in it for ages! It was a Mori Lee dress with a lacey, sparkly detail on the front and a lacey back with buttons and sparkly straps over the shoulders! Even though it was hot on the day it was the perfect dress for me”.
“The ceremony took place in Rocabella Hotel in Santorini at the Exclusive Pool venue. We had 25 guests, all loved Santorini and its breath-taking beauty!”
“For the decoration we picked blues and whites with gold to keep with a Greek look – it was mostly inspired by the island itself as those are the most prevalent colours”.
“The best moment (apart from the moment we first saw each other!) was getting up on to the church in Imerovigli to have our photos done. The view from up there is breathtaking and Eva captured some amazing shots of us up there”.
“Wedding Wish did the wedding decoration; they were so helpful! We chose lanterns with flowers inside for down the aisle and a gazebo with the wedding flowers in the top two corners. The centrepieces for the tables were candles surrounded by a wreath of flowers. In the pool we had floating candles for the evening and candles around the edge of the pool”.
“I enjoyed looking at the blog Chic and Stylish Weddings whilst I was planning the wedding, it is so useful to be able to look at real weddings to see what works, especially as i was planning from another country”.
Bride’s advice: “Do not stress about things – the most important thing is that you are marrying the person you love. Don’t let the little things cause you stress and enjoy all of it, even all the planning and don’t forget to take a moment to yourselves to enjoy the day itself”.
