The wedding of Julie and Sam in Greece is really and truly one of the most heartwarming celebrations we have featured. The love between this bride and groom is evident in every beautiful photo captured by George Pahountis and might just bring a tear or two to your eyes.
“We met through mutual friends in Washington D.C in the year of 2011. We remained friends and started dating seriously in summer of 2014. We were watching Nationals (Baseball team in Washington, D.C) and he turned to me and suddenly asked me if he’d be honored to be my boyfriend. I told him yes!”, Julie shared with us.
“A bit more than year later on December 5, 2015, we were doing Christmas pictures at Persian winery named Darioush in Napa Valley, California. I had no idea and was very shocked when he dropped down on his knees and asked me to be his wife!”
“We wanted something different for our destination wedding. We picked Greece due to its beautiful natural scenes, delicious food, and their wonderful culture.”
“My wedding dress was very chic. The color was ivory, lace and short train.”
“We decided on simplicity yet chic theme. Our colors were dark blue and ivory and my bridal bouquet had white roses…”
“We decorated the ceremony with white roses along with Persian pots and a lovely rug where we stood before our officiant. We also had rustic wooden chairs–beautiful chairs!”
“We didn’t focus so much on ideas and decorations. We focus more on making sure our guests would feel comfortable at our villa including planning on food and transportation details as well as activities…”
The bride’s advice: “Don’t plan too much—focus on the love of your partner. That’s the whole point of the wedding–it is not for a show but it is to become one on the day!”
