Lefkas Wedding has wowed us again! This time with a dreamy double wedding in Lefkada island overlooking the Ionian Sea. Lorena and Vali together with his sister Otilia and Alex tied the knot in beautiful Greek island Lefkada, overflowing with happiness. Lefkas Wedding planned a small outdoor celebration in a cosy intimate place located up on a mountain with magnificent views over the island and surroundings. Centrepieces from olive’s blooms combined with other fresh flowers were just a few of the visual delights at each table. «Lefkas Weddings was the organizer who helped us in setting up everything for the wedding, during the Covid pandemic and she did a fantastic job despite all challenges», Lorena, one of the two brides shared with us. We hope you love this double microwedding as much as we do!
From Lefkas Weddings: “Double the love and celebration when Otilia and finance Alex married in Lefkada with Oti’s brother Vali and his fiancée Lorena. It was a unique church ceremony at the beach front chapel of Agios Nikitas in Lefkada, a pretty village that involves a walk down the pedestrian street with the well wishes of locals and passersby as you walk to your ceremony. Planning was easy as they divided the tasks up between themselves with groom Alex taking the lead with food and logistics, the girls busied themselves with the flowers and decoration and groom Vali was in charge of the music and bar decisions! I communicated with them via email and we have a couple of group video calls which were fun! The reception was a private villa up in the hill above Lefkada Town with the fabulous view of the lagoon, the windmills and the castles below. After Lefkada; Alex and Oti took a few days honeymoon in Sivota Thesprotias and Vali and Lorena went to Kalamata”.
Lorena shared with us:
“We had a fall civil ceremony in Bucharest, Romania. The religious ceremony and wedding in Lefkada, Greece. We met many years ago, when we were both working for the same company. Shortly after, we started being a couple. The marriage proposal came a few years later, in one of our vacation in Corfu, Greece. At the end of a beach day in Paleokastritsa, we went to visit the Ruins Of Angelokastro Fortress, together with our friends, when, at some point, he called me by his side, at the edge of a cliff and proposed. It was an emotional moment for us and the spectacular view from up there at sunset, made it very romantic. Our friends were recording and taking pictures of us. I found out later and had a good laugh about it, that it was all a teamwork, every detail was planned with everyone upfront”.
“We had a double weeding: me and my husband Vali, together with his sister Otilia and Alex. The religious ceremony took place at a small and lovely, old church near the beach in Agios Nikitas. As for the wedding location, we wanted a cosy intimate place and rented a villa located up on a mountain in Lefkada (Apolpena region) with a breathtaking view over the island and surroundings. Claire, from Lefkas Weddings was the organizer who helped us in setting up everything for the wedding, during the Covid pandemic and she did a fantastic job despite all challenges. For the reception we wanted something simple and elegant. We chose olive leaves as main element for the table decorations and white/pink flowers, so it was kind of a rustic style theme. Around the pool there were some decorative vases half-filled with sand, a large candle and olive leaves, which lighted all night long, giving a nice, warm feeling over the place. The bride bouquet consisted of 50% greenery (olive leaves and eucalyptus) and 50% white, blush/peach and pink flowers (roses, lisiathus, freesia, minirosa, hydrange). I wanted a Greek style wedding dress, airy, comfortable and easy to wear (because of the high temperatures in Greece). Bought it from a small, stylish boutique in Bucharest”.
“It`s hard to pick a single favourite moment of the entire weeding, since everything was amazing, well organized and above our expectations. But, if I were to choose some, I recall the arrival at Agios Nikitas church, where we started with a walk down the paved pedestrian street of the village, followed by our guests and all locals and tourists, from houses or tavernas, giving us warm wishes and applauses. Another moment was the arrival at the villa, when, from the top of the stairs, me and Oti saw the entire place so lovely and elegantly decorated, ready to welcome us and the guests. We were overwhelmed of how wonderful everything looked and I couldn`t move for a moment, just stayed there and enjoyed the scenery. I`m happy that Doru, our friend and photographer, caught in some photos, that unique moment with the surprised expressions on our faces”.
Lorena’s advice:
“Follow your vision and chose a professional wedding planner to materialize it, because nothing beats their experience and best advice regarding any detail. This will reduce the stress and you`ll have time to focus on other aspects of your wedding. Enjoy every single moment of your event, smile, be present and have lots of fun!”
Otilia shared with us:
“We got married in Fall, at Agios Nikitas, in Lefkada Island. With Alex we worked together for a few years. We choose sage green, olive, blush pink, soft pink and white colours. As it was a double wedding, we decided to have the same theme and use the same colours and flowers, with small variations for the brides’ bouquets, but using the same flowers. Each bride had an individual bouquet request but the theme at the villa and church was the same. My bouquet had more flowers than greenery, tied with blush pink ribbon. I had a flower comb for my hair as well flower crowns for flower girls. Alex’s buttonhole was tied with blush pink ribbon and our mothers had wrist corsage, tied with blush pink ribbon. At the church we had some small candles for the ceremony with simple décor to match each brides’ bouquet; Olive crowns for the ceremony; candy bar with lemonade jars at the entry. We wished for an outside party by the pool, with a relaxed atmosphere with a buffet, open bar and tables decorated with sets of small vases and candles (Wood tree truck base with variety of small vases with olive, pink and white) in the same color pallet, napkins tied with soft pink ribbons and small olive branches. We also had a welcome board with a wooden easel stand and glass bowls with olive for around the pool edge/villa area”.
“I think one of my favorite moments from the reception was upon our arrival at the villa after the ceremony . Claire and Sharon were in charge of everything and we had 0 worries about the schedule, details, style and décor, we knew they were professionals. However, when we arrived at the villa, everything was exceptional, it looked like a fairy tale: the tables beautifully adorned, the chairs with the white tulle veils and decorated with flowers, the catering, the candy bar, the open bar, the lights by the pool, the string lights, our gentle music on the background, the view from the villa overseeing Lefkada Town and the sea. It was more than we imagined, and we will always keep that image in our hearts”.
“We first got in touch with Claire from Lefkas Weddings and then saw that Claire was featured in Chic and Stylish Weddings blog and we tried to see what styles of weddings she organized in the past”.
“As I mentioned, the most vivid moment is the arrival at the villa seeing all the wonderful décor Claire and her team put together in such a short time. All four of us walking on a beautiful street to Agios Nikitas church to our ceremony was also a highlight. Our close friends and family following us, and people at the terraces and shops cheering”.
“I chose the ‘Lainie’ wedding dress from designer ‘Willow by by Watters’, a wedding gown featuring an A-line silhouette in soft tulle, with a low V-neckline, plunging sides and button-trimmed V-back. It had a ruched bodice complementing the gathered skirt, embellished with floral appliques, and finished off with a sweep train. I chose this dress as it seemed ideal for a wedding in Greece, it is simple and light, but beautifully detailed – love the fact that the floral appliques are covered with a soft tulle layer which makes it very delicate”.
Otilia’s advice:
“Do your research and choose a wedding planner which inspires trust from the beginning. Then let everything on their hands. I was able to enjoy every single moment of that day because I had nothing to worry about, I knew that Claire was in charge and it was enough”.
