This destination wedding in Folegandros was all about lovely simplicity in the décor that matched the authentic beauty of this popular Greek island. The ceremony and the reception area were decorated beautifully by Folegandros Weddings with an abundance of baby’s breath, a versatile flower that truly added just the perfect amount of romance to the entire scene. The heavenly décor was just what Kristina wanted: “The island of Folegandros is so beautiful and the church is something out of a fairy tale, we wanted to keep the decoration white and green to not distract from the natural beauty of the setting we were in…” We simply can’t wait for you to see all highlights from this destination wedding in Greece!

The bride shared with us: “We met on the school bus when we were 13, we became best friends for our teenage years but drifted apart for a few years in our 20s, until one day we didn’t. We found ourselves becoming close friends again and on a trip to South America with a group of friends we kissed for the first time, and the rest is history.”
“We wanted simple decorations and colors, we went for baby’s breath, big bunches at the church and smaller bouquets for the tables for dinner. For the reception we wanted more white baby’s breath, festoon lighting, lots of candles and some beautiful green and white stationery for the table plans, menus and name cards. The best part of the ceremony was walking down the aisle to see my husband standing at the other end and all the people we love most in the grounds of a beautiful church. The best part of the dinner was our entrance, we walked into the song Voulez Vous by Abba, and unexpectedly all do the guests joined us in the middle of the square to dance, we had a 5 minute dance with everyone before we had even made it to our table, the energy was amazing and it set the tone for the rest of the night!”
“My wedding dress was from Made with Love, an Australian brand. It was lace and very light which I wanted given the heat. It was the first one I tried on, and there were many others I tried on after, but I knew the minute I put it on that it was the dress for me and my Greek island wedding!”
The bride’s favorite moment: “Declaring our love to one another in front of all our friends and family and celebrating until the early hours of the morning with them alongside many of the locals who joined us for drinks and dancing in the square where we had the reception.”
“If you are getting married abroad, use a wedding planner!”, bride’s advice.
