“We had a summer wedding in Kefalonia, Greece. We met in 2013, just two single twenty-somethings who happened to swipe right on a dating app. After discovering a mutual love of dogs, travel, and Harry Potter, it wasn’t long before I packed my Minnie Mouse ears along with the rest of my belongings into my Tinkerbell suitcase and moved in to start a life with Jack. Fast forward six years later, on a little boat in the beautiful blue Kefalonian sea where Jack asked the most important question. After the easiest ‘Yes’, lots of happy tears and much prosecco the wedding planning began”, the bride shared with us.
“My wedding dress was a beautiful whimsical dress called Juliette by Riki Dalal. Layers and layers of tulle and mixed lace on the skirt one of which was nude so it gave a beautiful look and feel to the dress. The skirt had a long train. I had bespoke sleeves made which gave a really unique fairy tale edge. The bodice had hand-sewn 3D flower embellishment. I wore a simple cathedral length veil from Grace Loves Lace. I just wanted to keep that clean, classic so it had no frills. My Dream Dress!”
“Our vision was rustic / whimsical wedding with a classic edge. We wanted lots of greenery so chose olive leaves, eucalyptus, and hence why we chose to have our wedding outdoors in our favorite place- Kefalonia. For the bridal bouquet we chose a white O’Hara rose which had a real vintage tint of peachy nude in the center to match the nude layer of tulle in my wedding dress. The bridesmaids bouquets were made up of greenery and the flowers that were in the arch. The arch was made up of lot of greenery and we mixed white roses which had a real antique look to it. We loved that the arch framed the sea in the distance. We wanted the beautiful surroundings to speak for themselves, so we didn’t want to overdo decoration. We loved being surrounded by nature, the olive trees and lavender with bumble bees buzzing around, even a few dogs! And had so many strings of festoon lighting which was magical in the evening.”
The bride’s advice: “Don’t sweat the small stuff, enjoy every second, spend as much time with your husband as you can. I woke up really early the morning of the wedding to watch the sunrise and spend some time alone to soak it all in.”
