Today’s summer wedding will transfer us to the beautiful island of Kefalonia where Chloe and Steven tied the knot with a beautiful Greek celebration! “I’ve always wanted to get married in Greece. Being half Greek, Greece has always had a special place in my heart and Kefalonia was the right choice..” the beautiful bride from London shared with us. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place in the heart of nature in a wonderful olive grove which was the ideal Greek setting to host their celebration of love. Their talented wedding planner from Kefalonia Weddings made the scenery even more dreamy adding lovely garlands of greenery and hanging lanterns while string lights were creating the most romantic atmosphere for their guests. The bride shared with us: “We met 9 years ago at a bar in London and we clicked right away. He impressed me with his dancing and we started talking and as they say the rest is history. Steven proposed to me in Sami, Kefalonia in 2018. We were sat at a small candlelit bar by the sea and he told me he was ready to start the next chapter in our lives and got down on his knee. I will admit my reaction was “shut up!” shortly followed by Yes and a lot of happy tears!!”
“I’ve always wanted to get married in Greece. Being half Greek, Greece has always had a special place in my heart. Kefalonia was the right choice for us as we felt as we got engaged there it would be lovely to do the wedding there too, plus the island is stunning! We wanted the wedding to be relaxed and embrace our natural surroundings. We chose Gentilini Retreat as the grounds are beautiful. The ancient olive trees were the perfect backdrop. The colour scheme was kept minimal with beautiful calligraphy stationary, white flowers and candles.”
“The dress I chose was the first dress I tried on! I was pretty open to a style and tried on a variety as you do. I just knew when I put the dress on for a second time that it was the one. It was a simple princess dress and sparkled when you walk which was perfect when getting married in sunny Greece!”
“Our favorite moment was saying the vows. That moment where it’s just the two of you standing up there and despite being surrounded by family and friends, you feel like it’s just the two of you. The ceremony was in both English and Greek which was perfect for us as it represented our families coming together as one. Another moment was of course the party! We could of danced into the night as the Dj was so good!”
