“We met in Mykonos Greece at a beach. We are both Greek and go to Greece every summer. My husband proposed to me in Whistler, Canada – my home country. This is where are relationship began. We currently live in Manhattan New York”, Antonia mentioned to us.
“Spetses, is a very symbolic island to me as I grew up going there every summer since I have been three years old. I always knew I wanted to get married on this island since I was a little girl. It has this aristocratic, romantic charm to it. A small island but it has a lot of history. We got married at St. Nikolaos church – a landmark on the island. The part I enjoyed most were the components such as the horse carriage, kaiki boats, church, beach reception that made the wedding so Spetses, something you only really find on this island.”
“The flower decorations were inspired by being a September wedding – I wanted to incorporate green as Spetses is a very green island – pine tree island. The colour scheme was green and white to resemble the island feel. The guest tables were a combination of garlands draping from the table to vases. Since, my look was more simplistic/ elegant Vera Wang Dress and veils – I wanted a bouquet that would match nicely. I chose to go with roses with a bit of baby’s breath to match the flower girls head piece. The reception was on the beach near the sea – where guests were transported by traditional kaiki boats. I wanted the guests to feel like they were on an island in Greece near the sea and under the moon and stars. We danced the night away and celebrated true love”.
“Arriving by horse carriage to the church and seeing my husband was my favourite moment from the wedding day”.
Bride’s advice: “It is you and your husband’s day. Make it about you”.
“I chose a Vera Wang wedding dress. Veils both long and short were Vera Wang”.
