“We met in a bar in Leeds. Simon proposed to me during a Gregory Porter concert at The Royal Albert Hall”, the bride mentioned to us.
“We wanted a very small intimate wedding and didn’t want all the usual fuss associated with a wedding, I didn’t have a bouquet and we wanted a really natural look for the wedding arch with olive sprigs and pampas grass, candles and fairy lights for the evening, it was magical and exactly what we envisaged”.
“There are so many special moments it’s difficult to choose just one, I loved walking down the steps to the beach to get married with the saxophone playing, Simon was crying when I met him under the arch. I also loved dancing with Simon to the music of the sax!”
“I ordered a wedding dress from Etsy but when it came it was nothing like the photos, it was a completely different dress! So a couple of weeks before the wedding I decided to design and make my own, I love the fact that I made my own dress and everyone loved it!”
“Our wedding was truly magical and that was all thanks to Claire at Lefkas weddings, she listened to exactly what we wanted and then made that dream come true! It was such a stress-free wedding, both in the organising and the actual day! I would recommend everyone finds a fairy godmother wedding planner as it makes your dream a reality without any of the stress!”
“We hired a beautiful villa on the hilltop of Meganisi overlooking the ocean with access down to a private beach. We had a week there with our five guests and a private chef who was amazing and prepared the most amazing wedding meal. It was a truly beautiful location and we all had an amazing time”.
Bride’s advice: “It really is your day and it goes so quickly, try not to get hung up on everything and just enjoy it! The more you relax and enjoy it the more your guests will too!”
From Lefkas Weddings: “An intimate micro wedding with the couple and close family in June 2022. Gaynor and Simon had three key requests for their wedding day; a private beach, their favourite champagne and a saxophonist. We proposed Meganisi island, which has many secluded and private villa estates to choose from and beautiful Ionian scenery. The ceremony took place on the beach below the villas with a circular arch decorated with pampas, olive and baby breath. The bride descended the steps to the beach with her father accompanied by the saxophonist playing ‘You got the love’ by Florence and the Machine. Their civil ceremony was light-hearted with the bride and groom smiling and joking throughout. It was personalised with text written by Lefkas Weddings team telling the story of how the couple met, their values and their hope for the future together. The ceremony ended with a shower of pink bougainvillaea confetti and the chilled vibes of Jubel by Klingande played live. Later on the villa terrace, the couple chatted with their family before breaking off to dance together as the sunset with the saxophonist. Our private chef served a celebration dinner overlooking the sea consisting of colourful salads, seafood dishes, organic beef tenderloin and homemade focaccia”.
