“We met online and went on our first date three days before LA went into lockdown for the pandemic. We ended up quarantining together and never looked back! Zach proposed in Malibu on the beach on one of those incredibly beautiful, warm but not too hot, Southern California days. Afterwards, we celebrated at Geoffrey’s, which is where his parents got married! And my parents honeymooned in Santorini after they got married, so it was really special to feel so connected to our families throughout our engagement and wedding”, the bride shared with us.
“We wanted a classic color palette with lots of white flowers and greenery for our decor. My bouquet was white with hints of green, composed of my favourite flowers, roses, orchids and peonies. I love long cascading bouquets and was so excited when I opened the box from Flowery on our wedding day! Our chuppah flowers matched my bouquet perfectly, and the bridesmaids loved their classic white rose bouquets too. Our ceremony had a timeless, refined feel and it was a small group so we had a ton of fun together — a good open bar is a must have! The beautiful location and time of day made the whole event so memorable. We were at a 100-year-old windmill, which was just an amazing setting – and we got married about an hour before sunset so when we got back from our couples photos we had an incredible view of sun going down over the Aegean. For the reception, since we were a small group, we wanted everyone to sit together at one long table for dinner. We had a mirrored tabletop, white chairs, lots of candles and low bouquets that spilled over. One of our favorite parts was the canopy over the reception table draped with white flowers”.
“My ceremony dress was an ivory beaded sheath gown from Catherine Deane and was fully hand beaded and shimmered in the sun beautifully! I love their designs, plus every dress has an affirmation sewn in the label which is a nice touch. I knew I wanted something fitted with a low back and the beaded crossing straps on the back were a unique design. I had an ivory cathedral length veil, which looked beautifully dramatic in photos. Then for the dining and dancing, I changed into a white strapless dress from Reformation’s bridal line and it was perfect for dancing the night away. I recommend every bride going to an amazing tailor because they can completely transform your dress and take it from great to perfect. I also paired both my dresses with the same ivory satin Jimmy Choo’s (so easy to dance in!)”.
“The whole day was so special. One moment that stands out for both of us is when I was walking down the aisle (to Moon River) and saw Zach for the first time in almost 24 hours, it felt like the whole earth stopped and we were trying so hard not to cry. And the reception with our families was so much fun, just laughing and dancing and having this amazing time together as one big family”.
Bride’s advice: “Get a great wedding planner! (We LOVED working with Poema, George and his team are wonderful). Other than that, everyone will be giving you advice and input for everything from the size of the guest list to the boutonnieres, so just keep in mind that the day is about you and your partner! So make sure it’s what makes you both happy and reflects you as a couple”.
