Aggeliki and Dimitris boho style wedding in Crete was so stylish you would think it was taken right out of a magazine! Aggeliki was wearing a chic wedding dress by designer Celi Dragouni and designer bridal shoes to die for by Manolo Blahnik.
The bride got ready in the Halepa Hotel known for its style and luxury located in a historical area of Chania.
The bohemian wedding dress by Celia D had silk tulle and french cotton lace details. It was a perfect choice for an island wedding. Celia Dragouni dresses are known to be made from light, airy materials such as lace, silk tulle, silk satin and chiffon and all her designs have distinctive vintage elements. As the desingher says that she is inspired by old fabrics and vintage lace that she finds in places all over the world.
Unique wedding invites designed by Atelier Invitations. They resembled post cards featuring the wedding location. Excellent choice for a destination wedding.
«I purchased my bridal shoes in New York a few months before the wedding in Crete. They were by Manolo Blahnik and from the moment I laid eyes on them… I fell in love! It was exactly the style I was looking for: vintage, elegant, classy. They are truly amazing and I wear them on special occasions.»
The natural style bridal makeup was minimal yet elegant, with earthy tones that emphasized the bride’s eyes. Her long hair was styled with natural waves and went went with the boho style wedding in Crete concept. As Aggeliki mentions: «I wanted my bridal makeup and hairstyle το be simple and not far from my day-to-day style. I don’t like exagerations, especially on the most important day of a woman’s life.”
The boho style wedding in Crete took place in a quaint church in the Halepa area. «We chose the area because we liked the view… a wedding next to the sea. The sunset was beautiful and it gave us a sense of serenity and simplicity».
«The best wedding planner that I could have was my own mother. She helped me alot not only with the organization part but also with the decoration details». Aggeliki told us that her mother also made all the wedding favors. A labor of love…
«I wanted a simple wedding decoration that would blend well with the beauty of the natural enviroment. We used small flower pots with aromatic plants, burlap, lace and candles that were also offered to guests as gifts. The candles at the church were decorated with small roses.»
When we asked Aggeliki when was the moment she realized that Dimitris was the man of her life she told us:«When someone can make you smile, when someone is next to you during the good and bad moments, when that special someone can make you a better person, then you know for sure that you want to spend the rest of your life with that person and one day create a beautiful family together».
The romantic bridal bouquet had small roses and lycianthus, in pastel colors tied perfectly with gauze.
«I didn’t have to search alot for my wedding dress. Celia was the second designer that I had visited and I knew right away when I tried on this dress. I had a very clear vision of what I wanted. It was far beyond the ordinary dresses… airy, bohemian, elegant… made from the finest fabrics and with great attention to details. The vintage veil was the perfect addition to the dress. I felt gorgeous… it was the ideal wedding dress for boho style wedding in Crete!»
The next day photo session with the talented wedding photographer Yiannis Sotiropoulos, took place in a traditional and graphic area in Chania known as Tampakaria.
«The wooden sign decorates our home and it reminds us on a daily basis of the beautiful moments during our boho style wedding in Crete» says Aggeliki.
