Talented wedding photographer Pahountis Photography shared with us a masterpiece traditional wedding! The pictures that follow, showcase a very stylish island wedding with a strong traditional element of a wedding in Karpathos island. The bride who’s origin is from Karpathos, shared with us: “We chose to wed in Karpathos because I come from the island. I really wanted to wed there and I am so happy that Dimitris liked this idea. We both wanted to have a traditional island wedding!”
“The thing I would suggest to future brides is for them to do what they really want to do. When u start scheduling about your wedding, there are going to be a lot of different suggestions and ideas. Parents, family, friends, they will all state their opinion which naturally affects in your judgement and adds to stress. I know it is hard to avoid but you should schedule your wedding based on what you have dreamt about it”.
The bride also shared about her impressive Berta dress with an illusion open back: “I knew exactly how I wanted my dress, from the beginning. Romantic, with a narrow line, all of it in lace and should leave parts of my body uncovered. When I found what I had in mind, I really felt like I couldn’t have picked anything else..”
“We chose a vintage style for our wedding, in earthy and pastel colors”.
“I think I will never forget the moment I arrived at the chapel and got out of the car. I saw Dimitris at the stairs waiting for me and I could see the happiness and in his eyes, the thrill and the suspense! The moment my father escorted me to him, will stay forever with me…”
“We both decided on a summer, island wedding and we chose the small scenic chapel of St. Zachary, which has a magnificent view of the sea”.
“We met in Athens, on the summer of 2013, when Dimitris was in Greece for his summer holiday (he lives in the US). We kept communicating for approximately three months and then I decided to go to the States for some time, so to meet him a little better and spend some time with him. Two month were enough for me to understand that he was the man of my life and so I took some radical decisions! I came back to Greece, I packed my things and moved with him in the States…”
“It was at the summer of 2014 that Dimitris poposed to me. It was a Saturday night and we were to go out for dinner. Nothing out of the ordinary or unusual so I could get suspicious. When the dessert arrived, my course wasn’t with one, but it had a chocolate engraved with four words: “Would you marry me”.. With such a sweet proposition, I couldn’t say more than a sweet YES..!”
