Chara and Raul planned their summer wedding on the stunning Greek island of Sifnos and it was going to be their dream come true wedding! “We had vacationed on this island many years ago and we loved everything about it! We were familiar with the breathtaking Church of Panagia Chrisopigi and we thought that it would so beautiful to get married on such a gorgeous setting!”.
The Pronovias wedding dress Chara wore on her wedding day was an elegant mermaid style gown designed by Manuel Mota.
Chara’s advice for the brides that are now planning their wedding: “A bride should follow her personal style concerning her dress, hairstyle and makeup… wedding decoration and music. During the entire preparation time she should work with wedding vendors that she feels comfortable with and trusts. And finally… on her wedding day, a bride should live every moment to the fullest because the day goes by so fast!”
“Almost half of our wedding guests were going to travel from abroad and the majority of them had not visited Greece before. We thought that our summer wedding should take place on an island so everybody can combine our special day with extra vacation time!”
“The are so many beautiful moments from our wedding day… All of them are unforgetable and so lovely. However, I do remember the moment I arrived at the church. There was a long aisle leading to the church door. All of our wedding guests were waiting for me… all I could see was Raul looking at me. The walk towards him was actually very brief, but each step made it more intense. When I finally reached him, we kissed… he held me in his arms… the guests were clapping and cheering… It was so beautiful…”
An elegant and chic bridal bouquet with white roses and olive leaves held together with burlap and dainty lace.
“We wanted the ceremony decoration of our summer wedding to be minimal. The church and the location was stunning… we didn’t feel we needed to add anything else aside from the candle decoration…”
“For the wedding decoration we chose the color white in combination with earthy elements: white roses and white ribbons, olive leaves, burlap and alot of lace. Raul and I wanted to add our personal touch to the wedding decor so we made our own white wooden wedding signs!”
Chara and Raul met during their post graduate studies in Paris. “The wedding proposal took place in Paris, at Pont des Arts, a place that always reminds me of summer nights in Paris. That is reason we made our own seating chart for the wedding reception by using a vintage map of Paris. Each table was named after of a place that was special to me and Raul. The name of our table was Pont des Arts of course!”
“Perhaps the most intense and heartfelt moment was when we arrived at the reception venue. We were in awe with the wedding decoration! Our friends surrounded us and they were very emotional because they had read the thank you cards we wrote for each one of them. The moment was truly magical… everyone that loved us was there and traveled from all corners of the earth to be with us. Our summer wedding was indeed just like a fairytale.”
