The couple shared with us: “We had a summer wedding in Pyrgos, Santorini. Rosalia is a Sicilian girl, with typical features of southern Italy, sunny and warm, always smiling, and Riccardo is an Emilian boy from northern Italy, charming, kind and thoughtful… But how did these two guys meet? The story of Rosalia and Riccardo begins in July 2008 (she is 17 and he is 20), in Rimini, a city in northern Italy near the sea, where Rosalia had moved with her family.”
“It was a hot summer evening, and Rosalia’s brother who was a DJ of Japanese music, had created a theme evening, since Riccardo liked also this kind of music, he went to that evening, and there he met Rosalia’s gaze for the first time … That evening under a clear sky and completely full of stars something great was born between these two boys … After months of courtship, on January 31st 2009, Riccardo asks Rosalia to stay together to start living this adventure of great love … After 4 years meeting each other in the city of the other, Rosalia goes to live with Riccardo in the city of Reggio Emilia, where she works for a fashion company, and he is a IT and a yoga teacher, here they adopt two fantastic curvy cats that accompany them on their journey of life together … The couple lives with joy and experiences great adventures, so in the summer of 2014 they discover the island of Santorini for the first time, and fall madly in love with it, it feels like home, and even though they had never been there it all feels so familiar and it’s a great feeling.”
“From that 2014 for 4 years in a row, all summers are spent in Santorini, dreaming about how beautiful it would be to get married on that fantastic island, where everything is so familiar … So on December 1st 2017, while they were in London for a trip of pleasure, immersed in the magic of the Christmas markets in Leicester Square, Riccardo in the midst of the great London crowd, asks Rosalia to marry him, obviously he had planned all this in this journey, which became unforgettable … Rosalia with great surprise and with heart exploding with joy obviously said yes! From that day they immediately decided that the perfect destination for their big day, with no doubt, would it be Santorini, the place that had always made them feel at home, which filled them with indescribable emotions every time the sun went down and disappeared. in the middle of the sea, where the colors of blue and white blended perfectly with those of the sky and the sea, that could only be the place for the great “Yes”! The date chosen for the wedding day was September 19, 2019, in the Santorini Gem’s location near the beautiful and characteristic village of Pyrgos.”
“Rosalia is a perfectionist, she likes beautiful and well-matched things, everything must be perfect and balanced at the same time. The theme she has chosen is love, Sicilianity, imagine a place like Sicily, a sunny place, with a thousand colors, she has chosen the love for her land, enclosed in lemons and her love for red roses enveloping and elegant, two contrasting elements that blend perfectly as well as Rosalia and Riccardo. There was no doubt the main colors had to be the carmine red of the roses and the intense yellow of the lemons, these colors had to be accompanied by lush green leaves and small white flowers here and there … Having always been in love with fashion, she was inspired by to two great Italian pillars, like Dolce & Gabbana, they are a living example of the passion, and of the colors of Italy that they express through fashion…”
“She (Rosalia) designed every little detail, sending the sketches to her wedding planner, who with joy and enthusiasm managed to create in every detail what was inside Rosalia’s head and drawings. The elegant bouquet with enveloping colors was composed of red roses, and small white roses, with green enveloping leaves that surrounded it, the bouquet of flowers was closed with a wonderful carmine red satin ribbon. As for the flowers for the ceremony and the reception, nothing was placed there by chance, everything was the result of accurate designs that promised an excellent final result. I loved the frame of flowers that surrounded the gazebo where Riccardo and I said our yes, when I arrived walking down the street with my father, I realized that everything was exactly like I had drawn it! That day the wind and the sun were in agreement to make all perfect! As an Italian couple we would have followed our wedding at a distance, for this reason it was essential to rely on an excellent company of wedding planners, so looking at the various sites we were struck by “Divine Weddings Santorini”, and in the summer of 2018, the year before our wedding, we made the acquaintance of this amazing team dealing with weddings in Santorini! I am happy I chose them, because everything was great!”
“From the wedding blog Chic and Stylish Weddings I found our wedding planner “Divine Weddings Santorini”, were my right-hand in the realization of my wedding. I loved my entrance, because although I had decided with the wedding planner how everything should be, it was wonderful as I got closer and closer to the location, to see the realization come to life, and in that moment I realized that my drawings and my ideas, everything had come to life, and it was the magnificent outline of what was to be the most important day of my life.”
“Even for my wedding dress I had very specific ideas, I already knew how it should be…. I went to 5 ateliers in Italy, one more beautiful than another, Verona, Florence, Modena, Rimini, but in the end he was waiting for me in the city of Milan. It was December 2018, the scent of Christmas in the air, everything was magical and the appointment was waiting for me in a famous atelier in the city of Milan that accepted my requests, and after trying about 30 dresses, I was tired and sad to still haven’t found it … As soon as I was about to leave the atelier, I passed through a room with other wedding dresses, and there it was, it was worn by a mannequin, it was new, just arrived, and immediately understood that the heart had made its choice … I asked to try it on, it was a dress from the PRONOVIAS atelier, with a mermaid cut, long sleeves, all in white Chantilly lace, V-neck, and with a fantastic buttoning on the back with small white silk buttons, to complete the dress I chose a fantastic 3 meters lace veil, which made everything perfectly gorgeous!”
“From Italy we moved to Santorini, with 27 wonderful guests, who followed us on this fantastic journey. My fantastic wedding planner (Fotini Gkiniou) was close to me in every little detail, and together we managed to get the wedding I had always dreamed of, so future brides, do not be discouraged by anything or anyone, commit yourself, and if you really believe it, DREAMS COME TRUE!”

Bride’s Advice: “Don’t be afraid to dream big, I am a person like many others, my husband and I take a normal salary, but we made some sacrifices to achieve the dream we wanted, and so it was!”
“On the exact same day my husband found his suit in Carlo Pignatelli’s atelier in Milan, that day we were really happy because we went home excited to have each found his suit for the wedding. To accompany the second part of my wedding I chose a dress with the typical majolicas that are painted in Sicilian ceramics, entirely of floating silk, with the colors of my land, it was a dress of my idols Dolce & Gabbana… I chose a crown of red roses, symbol of a woman’s femininity, and so I brought a little bit of my Sicily to the island of Santorini, and I really felt at home…”
