Their wedding was planned and designed beautifully by NMevents and a lovely bohemian style with wooden and other rustic details. The couple wanted something simple yet elegant, so they chose have the wedding venue decorated by NMevents with gorgeous floral designs, candles and lace touches. We fell in love with every single moment of this wedding in Crete! Enjoy all the unique moments and get inspired by the photos below!
The bride shared with us: “We met 6 years ago whilst working on-board a Royal Caribbean cruise liner. We fell in love after a week of knowing each other and although Gareth is originally from South Africa and I’m from the UK, we knew we would make it work. After our contracts on ships were over, we decided to go travelling and we lived in South Africa for 4 months before we both decided to move back to the UK and build a life together. ”
“Whilst living in South Africa, Gareth took me to one of my favorite beaches in Langebaan just outside Cape Town as we had originally spent our 8-month anniversary there. We took a bottle of champagne with us to celebrate our holiday and reminisce over our friend’s wedding that we had just been to the week before. We asked each other what our 3 highlights of our holiday were. Gareth said: 1, seeing his friends get married, 2. visiting Pumba Safari private game reserve and 3. if I say yes! He then got down on one knee and produced the most beautiful engagement ring I have ever seen before asking me to marry him. I cried and obviously said yes!”
“The ceremony took place at Agreco Farm in Rethymno, Crete and it was honestly the most special day of our lives.”
“My wedding dress was from the Australian designer Essense of Australia and as soon as I saw the dress, it blew me away. It had so much lace detail and the exact boho style that I was going for. I honestly wish I could wear this dress every day.”
“We were originally going to get married in South Africa however, with the distance and the cost wechanged our minds and were then on the hunt for a venue in Europe. Growing up in the Canaries, Spain for me was the second option but as I was searching for rustic venues, Agreco Farm appeared. Gareth and I had never been to Greece before but we had both heard such amazing things about the country. We booked a trip to Crete the year before we got married to visit the venue and as soon as we went there it blew us away and we booked the venue that day.”
“The best moment of our wedding, apart from walking down the aisle to get married, was seeing all our guests who had travelled to be with us. It was amazing to see everyone enjoying themselves and appreciating our planning for the past year.”
“Our style is very boho and rustic and that is exactly what we wanted for our big day. To be fair the venue was so beautiful that we decided to keep it quite simple.”
“I had no idea which flowers to pick for my bouquet but my wedding planner was on hand with her incredible advice. We ended up choosing a mix of green, yellow and pink flowers and they worked perfectly for the boho style that we were aiming for.”
“We kept it simple and elegant with candles and flowers placed on our long tables. We had honey which was made on the farm as part of wedding favours for our guests along with air plane bottle openers as our guests had travelled far and wide to be with us on our special day. We also had fairy lights wrapped round the trees which just looked so magical.”
“Chic & Stylish weddings has the most beautiful wedding blogs and offer some great advice from past brides.”
Advice to a bride-to-be: “Enjoy and relax. Don’t stress about the small things and don’t worry about everyone else. Just remember that you’re getting married to the love of your life and that’s all that matters.”
