The two lovebirds of today’s wedding decided to create a dreamy destination wedding and Santorini was simply the perfect place! They were dreaming of an intimate romantic wedding with their closest family and friends to celebrate with them and enjoy the beauty of the island! They chose a romantic, relaxed style of wedding with the breathtaking view of the island as backdrop. The colors of their wedding were white and soft blue with a hint of silver in some decorative details. The elegant bride impressed everyone in her princess wedding gown and with her effortlessly chic style. The bride shared with us: “I met Sam back when we were teenagers, I was 15 and he was 16. I always remember thinking he was really cute, but I was way too shy to speak to him. Then when we were in college, he asked me out on a date and 9 years later here we are, we have our dream home, the two most adorable dogs and now we are married!’’
The proposal: ‘’I was spending the day with my mum and returned home to find red rose petals & candles lit everywhere, the most beautiful bouquet of my favourite flowers and in front of me there was Sam on one knee. After he proposed I turned around and noticed he had cooked my favourite meal and had our favourite champagne. It was just so magical and so well thought out. We are both really private people so for me that was the most perfect proposal I could have wished for.”
“Our ceremony took place in Santo Winery and for us there was nowhere else in Santorini we would have had it. It has the most breath-taking views and there is such a special feeling when you are there.”
“After looking at many places in England for our wedding, we just weren’t getting the right feeling from any of them. We then decided to look at wedding destinations abroad and Santorini really stood out to us both. After doing our research that was it, Santorini was booked, and I knew there was nowhere else I wanted to get married. For us we wanted a small intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. Santorini was perfect for this because we could spend time with all our guests before the wedding and show them around the beautiful island that we fell in love with. Now all of our guests are just in love with it as much as we are.”
“We both wanted a really relaxed yet romantic vibe for our wedding, with all the breathtaking views of Santorini. You really don’t need much more as it just oozes romance. We went with a simple yet effective colour scheme of blue and white in keeping with the traditional colours of Santorini. There was also a hint of silver in some of our decorations.”
“As I wasn’t there to physically choose my flowers, I would send my wedding planner photographs of the flowers and colours I wanted which she sourced perfectly for us.”
“With our wedding decorations we decided to do as much as possible ourselves. We both felt it feels more special and personal this way, if you have the time and are willing, I would definitely recommend it. I hand wrote all our wedding invitations after I self-taught myself calligraphy, we had our own wax seal stamp made with our initials and the date of our wedding on; things like this that are the special little details and something you can keep forever. We also bought some disposable cameras for our guests to take pictures, not only is it something fun but it’s something we will treasure forever. Along with the disposable cameras we had little cards with different ideas of what they could take photos of. For the thank you gifts we purchased all our presents in Santorini, we felt this way all our guests had a memory of Santorini and our wedding.”
“The best moment was seeing my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle. As soon as I seen him the nerves just went away, and I couldn’t wait to become his wife.”
‘‘Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale’ and that’s exactly what your wedding is. enjoy every moment of the planning and don’t stress because honestly your day will just be incredible and you won’t even realize if there are any slip ups because you’re in the most amazing bubble of love.”
“I thought I knew exactly what wedding dress I wanted. I mean I was the girl that looked through every wedding magazine, went to every wedding event and scrolled Pinterest until I found the ‘one’. I went to my first dress appointment and they had the ‘one’, the dress I had my heart set on.I was able to try on, I turned to look in the mirror and instantly wanted to cry, it was a disaster.I hated the way I looked and couldn’t wait to take it off. The lady was so lovely and pointed out one she thought I would suit.I really didn’t like the look of it however I went with it and tried it on and wow I can’t explain the feeling other than it was the one! Who would knew I would go for something completely opposite to what I wanted, it made me feel like a princess. It had the most beautiful lace detail and embellishment, which sparkled in the Santorini su,.My favourite was the design on the back of the dress it was just so elegant.”
