We just love the elegance of this stunningly beautiful wedding captured by talented wedding photographer Nadia Meli. The lovely bride is a wedding coordinator so be assured that this wedding with the carefully curated details and color palette in champagne, ivory, dark red and black… will have you charmed to say the least!
Tasha shared her beautiful love story with us: “We met at church. I wasn’t interested in anyone there, and then one night I heard an unfamiliar voice talking about Country Music behind me. I turned around and saw his handsome face and I was done for!”
“I am still amazed that he pulled off his proposal. On our fourth dating anniversary (Valentine’s Day I had pretty much given up hope that he would ever propose. But I wanted to do something special, so I bought tickets for us to see Andrea Boccelli (one of Jon’s bucket list experiences) as a surprise for him. The concert was 4 hours away from us, so I secretly got permission from his boss for him to have the day off. I showed up at his work with a card that had the tickets inside. He was so surprised! Because he didn’t know in advance we went to his house for him to pack really quick for our weekend away (we had planned to stay with friends for a couple days after the concert)…”
“Unbeknownst to me, while packing, he grabbed the engagement ring he had been hiding for months and put it in his pocket. We drove to the concert, and on the way down to South Florida I teased him about having not proposed yet! After arriving, and almost having his surprise ruined by having to go through metal detectors, we sat through the most beautiful, glorious concert. Afterwards, he took me out on the balcony overlooking Ft. Lauderdale and when I turned around from looking out over the city, there he was, down on one knee. I thought I’d planned the ultimate surprise, and he totally trumped me!”
We asked the bride to tell us what was the best decision she made for her wedding: “Best decision- marrying my best friend!!! And of course handing over the day-of coordination to someone else. No bride wants to be answering questions about things like how to fold the napkins while she is preparing and spending precious time with family and friends”.
“The worst decision- to save money we decided to design and do something handmade and different for our invites. While they looked fabulous in the end, we spent way too much precious time on something that didn’t even end up saving us that much money after buying all the supplies.”
“Since I am a wedding/events coordinator by trade, I planned the wedding (with Jon’s help!) down to the smallest detail. But when it came to the big day, I turned it over to a trust friend and wonderful event planner, Kyla Miller”
Aren’t these first look photos so beautiful?
“I can honestly say that after waiting 5 years to get married, every single second was amazing and precious to both of us. I wouldn’t change a thing…”
“I wanted our wedding to be candlelit, elegant, timeless, and romantic…”
“Funny story about my dress… I actually bought it 2.5 years before we even got engaged. I knew he was my husband very early on and felt led by the Lord to buy this dress. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a champagne satin underlay with very unique lace overlay. It almost looks like antique crocheted lace. It has a very 1940’s Hollywood starlet look. My act of faith with the dress paid off. I didn’t tell Jon about the dress till much later and it is still one of our coolest, providential stories about our wedding”
“I like to focus on making the biggest impact without breaking the budget. Our florist did a huge spray centerpiece on the middle table in the ballroom, and several coordinating smaller arrangements.”
“On the rest of the table, I re-purposed mini- Ikea Greenhouses by painting them gold and filling them with ivory candles and rose petals. They looked incredible. I always say to pick the most beautiful venue because a beautiful venue will stand on its own.”
“We didn’t have to do too much to make the Sorosis Building shine. The only other things we did for decor was using red velvet fabric as a runner instead of a while runner, we put a garland with red flowers over the fireplace, and used 5-30” roud balloons with sparkly streamers on the ballroom stage behind the DJ. They packed such a punch visually! And of course candles everywhere”
The bride’s advice: “Even if you are a planning extraordinaire, hire a day-of planner. One you trust. One you like. You’ll thank me later”
