The bride shared with us: «We had a fall wedding in Lassi, Kefalonia. We met through an online dating website, however it was a miracle that we have never met as we lived in the same town and knew a lot of the same people. Nicholas proposed on a stop off on a cruise that we went on together to celebrate his 30th birthday. He proposed in Cannes, France, it was on a secluded balcony overlooking the town and sea, it was beautiful, very Romeo and Juliet. Afterwards we walked up the hill and there was a harpist playing music at the side of an old church, it was truly a special moment. We then found a chic restaurant and had champagne and French cheese. All unplanned, as Nicholas just wanted to find the right moment, but it was a truly magical day».
«I wanted simple and chic so I chose classic colors for the wedding including sage Green and whites. I chose olive leaves and eucalyptus leaves surrounding white roses for my bouquet. For the reception, I chose to have dim lights, candles scattered everywhere, and for the favors I chose small olive oil bottles for each guest with their name tags on and a mini bottle of Greek Ouzo for the toast. I wanted to keep the table quite Rustic so chose to have no tablecloths. We had a printed thank you note inserted into the white napkins with a sprig of rosemary in and tied together with string. I wanted to make sure each guest knew how much we appreciated them being there and sharing our special day».
«I was following the wedding blog Chic and Stylish Weddings to gain inspiration for our reception, theme and colors and we chose Vicky Bekiaridou Photography from the Chic and Stylish selected vendors!»
«I loved every part of our wedding; the Chapel ceremony was so romantic and it was so lovely to see my husband become emotional when he saw me walking down the aisle. I particularly loved our private photoshoot on the beach between the ceremony and reception. This was a lovely hour where we were able to spend quality time together privately, gathering our thoughts and reflections after the ceremony, cooling off and preparing for the reception. It was so needed from the adrenalin of the ceremony. It was also such a nice thing to do in a hot country, as I could take my heels off and dip my toes in the sea and feel refreshed and ready for the reception. The best part of the reception was the party following the dinner, we had a Greek band who were so good at getting everyone dancing and involved in the party. We did plate smashing which was so much fun».
«I bought my dress from the White Yard in South Yorkshire and it was a couture Savin London dress, Aurora. I wanted an A line dress something that I would feel comfortable in all day and could enjoy the food without feeling too self-conscious and bloated. I wanted something light that would not be too heavy for a hot country. I instantly loved the pattern and embroidery on my dress, and this is what drew me to it along with the beautiful train. I lost my sister in 2020 and the last time she saw me was when she came with me to try the dress on and I said yes to the dress, so it was a very special dress to me».
«If doing your wedding abroad, do your research and invest in a good wedding planner and relinquish control and allow them to do the organizing.. I am a self-confessed control freak and on occasions would micro manage the planning. This caused me unnecessary stress as in the end our planner had everything planned and everything in control and I need not have worried. So regular communication and videocalls is key to ensuring that your planner is able to capture your vision».
