It is the wonderful mix of vintage and romance that creates the perfect setting for this summer wedding in France! Melissa and Chris got married in the Chateau de Varennes, a historical venue with lush vineyards located in the South Eastern part of France. The stylish couple made a great choice and decorated their wedding ceremony and reception with colorful flowers and beautiful taper candles that we absolutely love while every detail was captured in the most beautiful way!

«Chris and I met over 12 years ago through a friend. Over the past twelve years we have moved a few times, added some dogs to our family and founded a business together. Chris proposed at home with our pups while we were celebrating our 10th anniversary together. It was perfect for us to share that moment with each other. », the brides shared with us.
«We wanted blue to be incorporated throughout our wedding as its the central color of our business and also a color we both love. In addition to the light blue, we featured pastel pinks and purples which really came through in the flowers. We worked with Grace & Flowers in France for our flowers and after giving her our initial thoughts and concept for the flowers, we trusted her fully and gave her full rein with the flowers throughout the day. She did absolutely incredible creating beautiful flowers for both the ceremony and the reception and I was in total awe of seeing them come together and make our day beautiful!»
«There were so many small pieces that made our day beautiful including the flowers, beautiful taper candles and tiny touches like our dogs faces on cocktail napkins. »
Looking at Chic and Stylish Weddings helped me create a mood board of the experience I wanted our wedding to create in terms of design, flowers, seating, and ambiance. I found it so helpful to look at other people’s weddings and to design what I wanted.

«Because we had a small wedding with eight guests- our most intimate family members, we were able to have each guest give a speech for us which was incredibly special. The dinner with speeches between courses felt so magical and that moment really solidified that a small wedding was perfect for us! »
The bride’s advice: «Enjoy the process and focus on the big picture of what you want your wedding day to feel like you and your partner rather than worrying about all the small things. Also remember to prioritize your own desires over that of family and friends as it is your day and your moment with your partner and not theirs.»
Try to have fun on the day of the wedding! I played tennis with my brother in the morning before getting ready and that really allowed me to just relax and sit back from worrying about the details.

«My gown was a strapless, a-line dress from Galia Lahav. While alterations were completed on my gown, the fabric was hand painted and beaded! I had planned to change in the night, but I loved wearing my dress so much that I never switched outfits! »
