The bride got prepared for her wedding day in the living room of the Villa Scarpariello Relais and as mentions “It was really fun… even my mother brought her stuff to get ready with us!” Morgan’s sister and maid of honor and her dear friends did her bridal makeup and hair. They all did an amazing job. Morgan looked so pretty!

“I used my typewriter to create little cards that said, «advice for Morgan & Gus». When guests entered the ceremony patio we took Polaroid photos of them and then they could fill out their advice or wishes for us!”

“We decided to write our own ceremony, which was challenging because we didn’t know where to start. My sister, brother in law (he officiated) and fiancée locked ourselves in a room and wrote the ceremony. It was so meaningful and personal because it was a collaboration between all of us. I loved every moment of the ceremony because it was so uniquely us.”

Morgan and Gus met through a mutual friend at a party. In her own words: “We started spending time together and fell in love quickly. About one year later we took a vacation to Australia. We were driving to Wineglass Bay in Tasmania when we pulled over at a secluded beach spot. We enjoyed relaxing there for a little while, and when it was time to go, he got down on one knee and proposed. A few surfers came out of nowhere to congratulate us! It was a magical moment!”

Morgan’s wedding dress, “Gemma”, was an exquisite creation by designer Rebecca Schoneveld. The finely detailed gown has a sleeveless beaded lace shell that is worn over a spaghetti strap, deep-v bias gown cut in rich silk crepe. The dress truly captures a feel of Old Hollywood Glamour. Rebecca Schoneveld wedding dresses are known to “emphasize a woman’s natural beauty, making her not just look beautiful but feel utterly gorgeous too”.

Morgan’s advice to other brides planning their own destination wedding: “Listen to everyone’s opinions respectfully and patiently… but be true to your own vision. You only get one wedding and it is your day- not theirs. Be true to your dreams for your wedding and you won’t regret it. And, don’t feel like you have to have it all. There can be pressure to take care of a million details, but time is precious and you have to prioritize. Lastly, spend the time to find a great photographer. We have so much fun reliving the moment through our photos and video, and I’m so grateful to our photographer and videographer!”

The color of the destination wedding in Italy were blush, cream, gray and navy. As Morgan told us: “I wanted something that had old world beauty- vintage, romantic, and intimate. I wanted to spend quality time with the people I love best, so for me having a small wedding was perfect.”

“After the reception we went back to the villa. My friends made me wait at the top until they were ready, and when we finally descended the stairs we saw they had put 300 tea light candles around the pool and patio area, into the cliff walls, and it was ethereal. I felt like I was walking into a fairy tale!”

From her experience with her Amalfi Coast wedding, Morgan advises “Always go with the vendors or people that are communicative, enthusiastic and responsive. You will be far away and having communication is essential to the planning and your peace of mind. Also, ask for help. Perhaps your hotel can recommend a florist, or your girlfriends can help you research photographers one night over wine. It takes a lot of time, but it’s totally worth it. Also, if it’s possible, going there ahead of time can really help to ease your mind and give you ideas of helpful tips for family and friends. Try to make it easy on everyone by clearly explaining transportation, language and local customs.”

When we asked Morgan what songs remind her intimate romantic Amalfi Coast wedding, she told us: “At Last by Ella Fitzgerald (our first dance), Rachmaninov Symphony No 2 (song I walked down the aisle to) and Ruff Ryders Anthem by DMX (my brother in law’s entry music for the ceremony!) ”
