Maria and Harris wanted their rustic wedding in Cyprus to take place in the “Old City” Of Nicosia and as Maria told us: “We are both Cyprians and the old part of the city of Nicosia has a special place in our hearts. We planned the wedding ceremony, the cocktail party and the reception to take place there in the picturesque Old City, surrounded by the ancient Venetian Walls”.

“The mermaid style wedding gown I wore at the ceremony and during the first hours of the reception was designed by Efi Papaioannou and made from silk organza. I remember the second time I visited her atelier and I told her I wanted to wear a slim line dress (even though I was sure that a flowy dress would look better on me)… she gave it to me and I didn’t not have to try another dress on… it was the one!”

This rustic wedding in Cyprus had gorgeous details and as Maria’s favorites were: “the fresh flowers, the candy table, the chandeliers, the baby breath bouquets that were hanging upside down and all our pictures that were taken during special times we had together as a couple. The pictures were like a small exhibition!”.

The beautiful wedding in Cyprus featured an elegant decor that easily fit the description “when romance meets rustic”. As Maria tells us in her own words:”The outdoor reception took place in gardens of Pili Ammochostou and the setting had its own style. We wanted everything to be chic and minimal”.

“It would be very difficult to plan our wedding in the location we selected without the help of Alexia Markidou and Elena Chatzinikolaou from Eventi Planners. Their help was significant since they had to organize an outdoor wedding in a setting that did not have any equipment, furniture etc. The secret of the success in this event was the planning part!”, the bride mentioned.

When it was time for the newlyweds to dance their first dance as husband and wife together, Maria had a little suprise for Harris! Their first wedding dance song was recorded in a studio and Maria sang the song that was dedicated to her husband!

“The lace wedding dress that I wore at the reception party was created by designers Natargeorgiou. I wanted to wear at the reception a dress that was a little more flowy and designers Dimos Natar and Andreas Georgiou were the perfect choice! In 3 days (I decided 3 days before the wedding that I wanted to wear a second dress during the reception!), they created this masterpiece for me!”.

Maria’s advice: “The bride should be calm and enjoy every single minute… she should keep in mind that this is the day she is marrying the man of her dreams and nothing should spoil it… I did not stress out at all… and I would do it all over again!!!”.
